Shopping CartYakuzaStreetThugs: It's funny how no matter how many clips I watch of him playing wow he is always like level 6
valitsemllaluokanavahyvaks3556: He has streamed Classic WoW for 400hrs now, fair to say he might enjoy it.
UnpronounceabIeName: Classic has impact.
If you get a big gear upgrade, you can feel it. If you get a crit, you notice it. When you get a new skill, it changes how you play.
AndrewKeech: Is 100 hours in a video game a ‘first impression’? Damn.
coachleif: For the time WoW moved at mach 12. I came from EQ and FFXI back in the day, and by comparison I was blown away at how fast WoW was. What was once a 10x in MMO speed is now the slow cozy speed... that is a massive shift in design philosophy.
thalpres: The stairs -> elevator analogy was quite the line. I'll yoink that for myself!
Calalden: I swear if Josh had gotten had gotten a bloodelf bandit mask while making this video
alphadron4073: I think Guild Wars 2 is the game that does expansions in the best way currently available. It adds more to the world, but doesn't immediately make the rest of it obsolete, still giving tangible and relevant rewards for old content, but luring players in with new cosmetics, achievements, event variants etc. as well as new mastery tracks which expand on how the systems introduced previously work. The most recent one, for example, majorly improved one of the four original mounts you could get for completing the Path of Fire storyline, which is usable everywhere.
majkatrojedjece6585: 0:41 something 99% of the internet never said to themselves
danielskrivan6921: 1:09 "Blessedgirth" lol!
creepy6252: "I don't know How High I am" A famous Drunk Quote haha
cattysplat: LFG dungeon levelling absolutely destroys the new player experience. Veterans just want to rush level alts and will do anything to make it faster, including kicking new players. Then you are kicked out back to the world, alone and forgotten. The world becomes pointless when you get teleported around or simply fly over it. You see the MMO of WoW get eroded over each expansion pack, abrasive design forcing players to work together is smoothed over until there is eventually nothing left outside of organised guilds doing the hardest content and a hostile LFG system that gatekeeps the accessible endgame content behind turning people into an ilvl number. WoW Classic is fundamentally a completely different game, more about managing resources than pure action.
Helikaeon: 3:29 the analogy comparison here is so accurate.
FosukeLordOfError: 1:04 do note that I think tbc pacing is a lot better then vanilla
elbardo_lux: If blizzard were to change the retail leveling to be more like classic was, I could guarantee you that you would have almost the entire of youtube wow creators yelling that they did it to sell more boosts
formdusktilldeath: YES! Pacing! That’s exactly it! It feels super cozy. You’re never overwhelmed or feeling the next thing is too far away.
Willias: 3:14 I think it's also important that all of these abilities and the choices they give also allow a player a sense of playing well. Keeping your INT buff up, keeping your shield buff up, picking your damage attacks, they all let a player make decisions in terms of playing their character effectively.
rishyfishy8799: Im surprised you dont read the quests. They may be quite simple and mundane, but i think they add to the lore and world building. Make the world feel real and immersive.
But i guess youre also talking and streaming at the same time XD
tokisouls: He actually made me believe he would never play this game. He always talked about it like it was below him or not actually worth any time. And as soon as i finally quit this game he goes all in xD
Tyrian3k: Expansions in WoW were always a double-edged sword. On one hand, you were excited for the new content. On the other hand, all the big raids of the past content were now obsolete, since all the gear you get from them is immediately outshined by random quest rewards from the new expansion.
I distinctly recall how classic raiders were pretty upset when their shiny, good-looking raid gear was suddenly replaced by trashy-looking new gear that had better stats when TBC originally launched.
sdwone: Josh GETS it! Classic WOW isn't about moving at Light Speed!!!! Mindlessly smashing a single button! It's SLOW... CHILL.... And you can really appreciate the increasing power of your character as it SLOWLY levels up....
Personally.... I also like the added pressure of Danger too! So my preferred flavour of Classic is Hardcore And even though all the different versions of the game IS confusing! That simply reflects the HUGE diversity of WOW Players!
If Blizzard didn't turn WOW into a buffet table... Then I don't think this game would have survived! Or maybe it does but, with a MUCH decreased profile!
Anyway.... Whatever flavour you play.... ENJOY!!!
martinicc67: That's the thing the thing about retail though, everyone has done this a 100 times and have moved on from this content because they've squeezed every bit of enjoyment out of this and all of their friends are at the top, while you're alone trying to reach them
daregoat: 1:15 made me spit my drink
infraredux: 3:58 "I don't... know how high I am." Someone send a trip buddy to Strife! (j/k, good stuff; thanks for the video)
LigmaCommander: bro draenei mage was my first WoW character. this takes me back
lazzluiz: That’s why my best experience with WoW was Classic Hardcore. Leveling (and surviving) is the main aspect of the game there, and there can be an “endgame” of you like, which is getting to 60 with zero deaths. That’s what I did and it felt like I was playing the game in 2004 again.
LMD263: josh strife macron for sure
