Primarily thrives in vanilla to wotlk... the rest was meh for me. I also experienced most of classic SoD so you know where my WoW thoughts are coming from.

If Classic is real... Which Im leaning to Yes it is... I'd say sometime late 2027. Blizzard wants money and they'll release something early, even Cyberpunk "1.0" style, for the sake of getting that money. 2028 would make more sense but.. you know who it is :)

That timeline makes the most sense. Classic plus late this year, and wotlk anniversary in 2028. 2028 is the anniversary of wotlk. Wotlk “anniversary” doesn’t make sense until 2028. That’s why I think they aren’t coming until 2028. I believe that late this year, and 2017 are the time, and place for “classic plus”.

If classic plus isn’t great or people get tired of it, they have wotlk anniversary realms in 2028 to get players back again.

The “creator” is always a negative Nancy anyway. He’s humorous, but always negative. He keeps saying “anniversary” without acknowledging that wotlk anniversary is 2028.

Jormungar_Worm: I don't know why people think C is still 2 years away, 99% of the game is already finished its Classic new stuff, not Remake Vanilla from scratch with new stuff.

The zones you aren't allowed to enter like hyjal are already fully made (without quests and npcs), Quel'thalas and the ghost lands along side The Isle of Quel'Danas are already fully made that they can copy and paste from tbc,

they already have all the assets made to be re-used to make new content like towns, ruins dungeons and raids, and loot like they did with SoD.

The only thing they actually need to do is sort out talent trees and balancing classes and items, add news races (if they are even going to do that), new class/race combos (if they are even going to do that)

And maybe adding new areas and quests is holding them up, but i doubt it takes 2 years to plop down some already created assets, random generate npc appearances and name them, then write a few quests which link together to either tell a short story or a zone story.

FelipeJannsen: The most likely scenario is WoTLK Anniversary launching first, with Classic coming later. Releasing both at the same time would only split the player base, guilds, and overall hype. Blizzard will probably use Wrath to secure strong engagement numbers before committing to a full Classic rollout, especially with GTA VI expected to dominate the gaming market later this year.

Lone_117: I believe they've been working on C less than year, if that.They're 100% releasing Ann WotLK and C will at best release early 2028. Anyone who thinks they're going to shadow drop it are insane. They got away with it in SoD simply cause it was a "seasonal" and could toss that out as an excuse. If you think they're going to take that chance on C you're delusional. They will have a alpha and beta, it might not be open, but they will have one. This isn't them just releasing vanilla again up to naxx and just flipping a switch then poof! continue onto C . We're talking at the bare minimum Class/profession changes and tuning, new zones, quest hubs, dungeons and so on... That's going to require a good amount of time and testing from players. I not saying we'll test everything in beta, but we'll have a pretty good idea of what we're in for. Or they just drop it no extensive testing, everything is over or under tuned, shits buggy and broken and ppl hate them for ruining their C ... let's apply some critical thinking here.

leoncard5821: If they are to release Wotlk, it would make sense progression-wise for it to launch Winter this year (Considering every TBC phase happens on a different season). Classic Plus could then arrive in 2017. Blizzard released Vanilla Classic Demo on 2018, and released Classic Vanilla in 2019. Perhaps we will see the same pattern now? Maybe they would release Classic Plus during Ulduar patch where the playerbase starts to decline?
