람쥐뀨: Launching Camelot within just a month or two after BlizzCon is the absolute worst-case scenario.

Hardcore players who have put 10 hours a day into every single piece of Classic content are already burnt out and only looking at Camelot, so they want it released as soon as possible.

But honestly, ignoring the hardcore players' opinions has always produced the best results. The best-case scenario would be releasing Classic only after WoTLK has fully run its course.

Just let them cook.

Kshaadoo: I really hope they launch C after Wrath. I play a lot of alts and really enjoy playing current TBC for the first time (not counting pservers) and want to do the same with Wrath. With full time job and other commitments it will be a hell managing wrath C and also trying to play other games.

OMGiTzSpAnKy: Blizzard doesn't care at all about when they launch another version of WoW, they have shown this in the past multiple times. A couple examples of them launching major versions of games within a week or two of each other, SoD Launch/10.2 retail, Shadowlands launch/Classic19 Naxx40, and MoP remix/Classic Cata launch. I believe they won't do any beta access and will drop it just like SoD, a beta will just cause people to meta game and ruin any new discovery. Imagine the hype of barely knowing anything about Classic going into it vs streamers showing it off on stream for months before release. I have some faith in Blizzard, SoD was one of the best versions I've played in a long time and that team is working on Classic

lonewolf5068: So if we take SoD as an example here, I expect the initial hype to last for about 2-3 months for C then it will slowly die off like SoD did. I just don't trust Blizzard to make a good Classic WoW game anymore, their goal at the end of the day is to make as much money as possible and with the current dev team i don't think they can produce something that is worth paying a lot of money for. If the rumors about expansion packs etc for C is true, i think it's just another try to milk as much $ as possible from a game that is already at it's peak in the first 2 expansions TBC and Wotlk.

erazz32: I am genuinely hyped for this shit dog. Way back when SoD released there was an interview or somesuch where they said that SoD was essentially a testing ground- seeing what works and what doesn't. There were fuckups to be sure, pacing of some phases, SHIT ASS REPEATABLE EMERALD DREAM QUESTS, but there were many wins. I think they have a lot of information from that and from the community over the years to make a genuinely great classic .

I'm expecting more leveling dungeons, some being megadungeons/leveling raids. Class balancing (if its the same meta that shit is DOA). New raid tier and new mechanics on old raids of course. Finishing sparse/unfinished zones. Peppering in fresh quests. And profession rebalancing, which SoD did a pretty great job of.

I'd really love for them to make world buffs open world only as well but its not as critical as the previous ones.

And. Controversial. I WOULD NOT MIND TRANSMOG. But I'm not gonna shed tears for its absence. I know its genuine ragebait for some members of the classic community.

also anniversary isn't dying anywhere in the case of levelcapped phases where fomo is minimized

What I fear is that it we are just getting some SoD 2 with 80% reused content.

Turning other existing dungeons into raids and call it "new content".

But we likely get things like new Timbermaw Hold dungeons etc to appease the critics.

ScruffyPumpkin: I desperately WANT C to be good, but they have set a set a precedent of constant disappointment. I could tell just in the starting zone of SoD that they fundamentally do not understand WoW Classic as shamans had a chance of getting a free instant lightning bolt which severely reduced time to kill. Once I found that rune on my very first character I made for SoD, I knew it wouldn't work. I truly hope they don't go crazy with the changes and make a game that keeps the original feel and tighten up some of the hybrid classes only ever so slightly...

But it's Blizzard.
