GoodOldGamer: You can make something like 40ish different characters if you combine every possible class and combat style combo, lol. There's so much replayability now that they've unlocked the combat styles for the classes, it's crazy.

thatHARVguy: Subscribers get access to a second Combat Style. I can switch to a stealth Style (and loadout) out of combat if I need to. And no, you can't mix 'n' match Styles, it's binary; one or the other. If the sub expires, you're locked with the last Style used.

billh7451: The style choices is something that wasn't in the game when it released all those years ago. Each class basically had 2 choices and once you picked one of them that was it. It's nice having more choices now, from 2 to 8.

gnilerfdr: Each of the styles which were Republic primary and Empire primary are simply mirrors of their opposite faction. So Gunslinger (Republic=R) is the mirror of Sniper (Empire=E), Scoundrel (R) = Operative (E), Vanguard (R) = Powertech (E), Commando (R) = Merc (E). The same with the force based classes. Each of the skills might say something different, but those mirrors have the same play style as their opposing factions class.

someguy1141: The storylines were really well done. One thing I recommend for players is picking the storyline that matches up with the original classes it was written for. Many of the in-game cutscenes were designed around them and in general helps with the immersion if that is what you are looking for in the game.

WarriorTRZ: Empire V Republic is not Good V Evil.

Both sides do some.. terrible things. Although Empire is a little more open about it.

Republic side classes are fine.. I find the Jedi gameplay fine, but the stories are... eh. Trooper is good, Smuggler is good.

Empire side are fine. Sith Stories I love as both Light and Dark, Bounty Hunter is good, Agent is just Great.

The Split of Mechanics from the classes has been a good thing IMO, but I wish they would use that to make them stand out a little more. Sniper being a little slower but doing more damage, Gunslinger being faster but dealing a little less, Commando being more AoE than Mercenary. Stuff like that.. as it stands they Mirror still a little to much.

I don’t care if I’m going ligh route in the run, I’m making a dark side choice there every time.

the Trooper has a similar moment, where I cannot help being just a little naughty on a good boy run.

GrandWarMaster: SWOTOR was my favorite MMO to play, I played it for years, Storyline was great. I've tried over 10 MMO and it defiantly has the best story to follow. Repeating side question over 8 times was defiantly the biggest grind of the game.

danielshorrock8271: I enjoyed all of the class stories I played mostly as a sage or sorcerer until now after failing 5 wb and heroics I decided to try a different class now shadow or assassin are my go to class for force users and for now power tech or operative for non force users lol

Gegota82: I believe a brand new player has to unlock things before they can use, say a Gunslinger playstyle on a bounty hunter or Imperial agent. I could be wrong, I'm a legacy player so for me everything was unlocked by default because I've done all 8 class stories, but I believe so, you cannot use jedi style on sith characters or visa versa until you played them. it's part of the dark vs light system, you have to have a character that is Dark 5 and light 5 to unlock them or soething.

the best story in the game is the Imperial Agent, followed by the bounty hunter, Smuggler and Trooper. yes, in a star wars game, the non-force class stories are in my opinion the best ones. the worst one by a country mile is the Jedi Consular.

the game has mirrored classes for each faction. a Jedi Shadow and a Sith Assassin is the exact same class, except fo the name of the abilities and what they do, one is evil, the other is good. they are otherwise exactly the same. same with Gunslinger and Sniper, exactly the same, just different weapons.

Mumen_Rider85: If you plan to check out the game and play casually for few days weeks your best bet is probably to pick a class based on class story. Of course elements like "i want/i dont want to be lightsabers and force user" are also worth taking into concideration. If you have time to play just one story but really wanted to have fun with lightsabers no point in pickong blaster class.

I'd say on average empire class stories are much better than republic. If we compare them face to face (as in lets say republic class story to its mirror emperor class version) it would look like (imo):

Jedi knight vs sith warrior. Knight is by far best republic class story. And even if strugles against empire side. Because knight is very fun, with interesting love interest (it matters to me:p) but it is fairly cliche save the galaxy hero journey. Font get me wrong I highly recommend it, but sith equivalent is even better. Your strugle against your sith master is also a cliche, so much so that other sith class does pretty much same thing. But it is slightly better written than jedi knight. So from good story to pretty great one. Both have some interesting companions but where knight had one great romance option, sith warrior has two. And one (only if you play datkside character so not me) is pretty disturbing but also most unique romance in game I saw in a while.

Jedi consular vs sith inquisitor. Consular is not bad honestly, but it is mostly a litle boring. Romance option is possibly also most boring one in my opinion. Inquisitor story is great, hard to decide if its better than sith warrior in all honesty. Both seem pretty much just as good. Inquisitir wins in romance against consular but looses against both jedi knight and sith warrior.

Not sure if its fun fact but I always play male characters if i can. For some reason sith inquisitor is only class that always was canon female for me. And only class where my character species was rattataki (pale bald people, i think ventris ftom clone wars cartoons was that). It somehow fit so well!

Soldier vs bounty hunter. Bh was first class i played and one i played the most at first. Unfortunately imo both those stories are worst on each respective side (well soldier is probably slightly better than consular). Which doesnt have to mean they are bad mind you. Surprisingly if you concider atmosphere of the story soldier is closer to imperial agent because both are about you serving your contry (republic or empire). While bounty hunter is closer to smugler - in both its about glory, adventure, cash... between soldier and bh I think i prefere bh but its a combination of mentioned atmosphere of the class and the story, soldier probably is objectively better wriiten its just personally bh fits my tastes more. As for romanced i think its a surprising draw probably. I didnt expect to like soldier romance option but I did. A lot. She might be top 3 in the game.

Smugler vs imperial agent. I feel sorry for agent. Its probably second best story on republic side (though again it beat soldier on personal preference and not so much on writting) but its up against by far best story in the game. I think smugler wins vs agent in romance and vibes (this personal opinion class "feel" aspect) but imperial agent is so well written, full of twists and turns...

So in short if you want to play one and dont have to be force user - try agent. If not that for done reason id pick between first two (knight or warrior)

Ps: romance options i judged as male character so partners i rated are all female.

Dokdiamant: I finished all class Quests 2 years ago and after that, I needed a break from SW ToR. But I came back for a change, and at the Moment I play a Sith Warrior, but with a Jedi Knight Build and on the Light side.

Similar with a Sith Inquisitor, which have the Skillset of a Sith Warrior and using the light side too.

I also have a republic commando, which have the sniper Build of the Imperial Agent or a Bounty Hunter with the republic Commando Heavy Weapon Build.

It is fun to mix / match the classes when you already have all the normal classes unlocked. ^^

I also can think of a dark side Jedi with a sith build, and a BIG Anger Management Problem. xD

LuckyMark777-z3x: Nice video just like to add the scoundrel is a stealthy class to like a mirror class to the Infiltrator, the Commando next to hes dps can use healing, and the mercenery bounty hunter has high Dps next to healing they can use rockets. Venguards can be tanks, snipers besides dps can chose to do crowd control, sage and sorcerer can be healers

HakumeiKira: This is so funny. I played the game over ten years ago, completed all stories and expansions back then and recently found myself reminiscing about it for some reason. And now I find out that the game is alive and well still and even has developed quite a bit! So cool!

I was a Jedi Shadow Main back then and I definitely will be one this time again. Say about Consular what you will, but slow and steady is not always a bad thing XD.
