Shopping Cartluckyman212: It hasn't been called Runescape 3 in years, Osrs players mostly are the ones that still called it 3.
ZodiacGangSigns: RuneScape is gonna make a huge comeback once they fix it all up. It's the original game with all of the history and offers a fresh experience whenever you get burnt out on OSRS.
tessaN64: to me, "Runescape" refers to both osrs and rs3. If someone said "I'm playing Runescape", my first instinct is usually they are playing osrs, as its more popular. "RS3" is just a term used to distinguish between osrs and the modern runescape game
anwinity2: FYI RSC->RS2 was way more than just graphics. It has a whole engine redesign, and tons of game mechanics changed. But your point still stands, it was an upgrade to the game and not a new offshoot of the game. RS2->RS3 was similar, but I would say the graphics upgrade was a bigger part of the upgrade, along with the EoC stuff but technically that came before RS3 iirc.
But yeah, one of the games going away would definitely have financial impacts on the other game, in either direction. I haven't played RS3 since around 2018 when I moved to OSRS, but the recent changes are definitely making me consider coming back, maybe starting an ironman there.
dk9: If anything, RS3 = EOC and OSRS is the only game worth playing. Thanks for the video
DunnX3: 5:22 that's how i remember seing it on miniclip in class lol
kylehanz1230: Preachhhhh
null_..: I started playing RuneScape in 2006 and since osrs came out i pretty much only played it, aside from a few periods of a few months where I played rs3. I have been playing the current rs3 leagues though and have been having a lot of fun. There are still issues with the game in terms of balancing issues and some methods being op vs others being completely irrelevant. Personally my favorite version of the game was from I think around the end of 2011 or first couple of months of 2012, right before they introduced the new weapon and armor models leading up to EOC. There was a lot of content to do and there were so many different pvp builds you could do, I.e. I had a void/korasi/handcannon pure that took forever to make but it absolutely owned. Pvp was in a very healthy state back then. I would love that version of the game back with the addition of the new quests that continued storylines newer pvm.
jmtradbr: i noticed that. but rs3 is stuck in my brain
kanamala: 2nd comment
Camelotsmoon: Tbf, RS2 was never officially called RuneScape 2 on the website either ( 5:09 yes), it was always just called RuneScape. It's still RS3 ever since EoC July 22nd, 2013. On release they have always used the new number in the name for a few years to make people feel like it's new and use that to attract people to the game, and then later on they drop the number to consolidate the game under the main, simpler name for marketing... I find it fine, as it's the main game regardless.
At some point when the game transitions to RuneScape 4, I do hope they split the game like Andrew did with 2 rather than pasting over RS3 and calling it a day. Bonus points if they let people transition their levels and gear over.
Bizza12345: if i wanted to play a hotkey mmo id just play world of warcraft. subs cheaper than runescape membership too
Nightstorm-2516: Rs3 player still coping that the real runescape is osrs. EOC is not Runescape.
crazykenny1213: Is double XP bad? Yes. Because a lot of people who play these games make enough money that they're wasting they're time if they're NOT buying double XP. At some point these companies are just disrespecting your time. I'm leaving the video after you mention you can buy double XP because I now have zero interest in RS3 again.
moonnative: Osrs is the rs everyone knows and loves. That will never change as long as eoc remains.
nobodynothing1469: I'm only playing old school RS. Few reasons. I botted my max cape. I did a bunch of RWT buying 17b gold, buying quiver inferno cape, and having 11.2b bank. Not on RS3
