chossyboi4183: dude honestly your shit is amazing, first vid i've seen, and you seem small enough to put decent effort into reading all of your comments, and so I'll put decent effort into my thoughts here. Another thing RS3 suffers from is very, very monotonous content creation. Most videos are the same old either grind/recap, world record of some sort, or explination/reaction of recent announcements. This was an amazingly well done video essay that brought a novel idea into the discussion, and a novel idea that is inspirational. I think it perfectly matches the longerm hopes Jagex is seeking from this direction shift. I loved the necro release only to have my daydream cut short by the release of hero pass (like 4 weeks later???? still so salty). somehow I still fn stayed. I then went through 12 months of disenfranchized torture with each new week's announcement, and each months appology/promise, slowly degrading every remaining hope for rs3. That sentence sounce bleak and overexaderated, but like can anyone disagree? Between the new content was just a metric ton of poopoowater. Took up an OSRS ironman instead, first OSRS experience since EOC changes, and man I've been loving the experience. Yet, in the background there was an ever growing anger as Jagex for not realizing a winning formula, and literally doubling down on it. And further beneach that that my hope of a future for the game would return, and more importantly would be deserved. I logged into my RS3 account last week for the first time in 18 months. Didn't do anything, just checked my bacnk to see if everything was still there lol. Anyway, the reason I did that was in large part to many of the points you make. It feels like they swallowed their ego, tightened their economic outlook for the short term (as you'd expect from a removal of MTX), and have seemingly gone all-in on this idea of going with what works. Not only because it brings more players and therefore money, but (and i realize how cliche this sounds) gave something for people to believe in again, a real and bright future. I hope this gamble works for them, it's a big first step to fixing the things with this game that have been pushing it in the wrong direction for YEARS. Not even MTX but MTX-ajacent, the unethical aspects outside of MTX. It's amazing, this video was amazing. Well done good sir.
