Shopping CartFalterfire: A few notes on Minigame Spotlights (which you may or may not have already found out through research/experience):
- In RS3, a large variety of minigames provide a currency called Thaler which can be spent on various rewards. For most eligible minigames, you receive 1 Thaler for every 5 minutes the minigame lasts. (Only time spent in the game matters, and for example if the minigame lasts 11 minutes and 30 seconds then you get 2 Thaler and 1 minutes 30 seconds credit towards your next Thaler)
- The only thing Minigame Spotlight does is increase the rate of Thaler to 1 per minute. While this is a 5x increase, it does still mean you only get 60 Thaler per minute, which is relevant because
- Basically none of the items in the Thaler reward shop are worth buying for their actual use. Even things that seem useful, like the Fletching XP boosting outfit, ultimately aren't worth the time investment compared to the extra XP they'd provide, especially since
- Most of the Thaler rewards either are now or were previously available through other means. For example the XP Boosting outfits were available with a currency earned by participating in Double XP Events. While those aren't happening anymore, the last one was recent enough that most players who are aware of the outfit and want it would've been playing long enough to have earned it there.
- The net result of all this is that the only people farming Thaler are likely doing so for completionism purposes and probably aren't feeling much time pressure to rush
- Also, most people participating in Spotlights are not looking to actually play the minigames (most of which are janky and only fun if you are wearing incredibly thick rose-tinted glasses and also able to chat with friends while playing), which leads to my overall point:
tl;dr: While Spotlights are unpopular in general, the ones that actually get more than zero players tend to be ones like Castle Wars which have long games that require no interaction beyond the minimum needed to avoid lobbying from inactivity. Something like Great Orb Project that locks you out for 15 minutes if you don't actively participate is going to be avoided by players who are seeking out Minigame Spotlights.
AlternaHunter: The Great Orb Project altar telly seems pretty kosher to me really. The fact it requires alts because of the minigame being dead is... unfortunate, but ultimately I don't think anyone would begrudge a chunker who had access to, say, the Abyss using it to access the altar instances either.
m.greenfield6328: I'm sure your community would be happy to help with The Great Orb Project.
While I don't mind you using all those runespan points for the altar teleports, I... dunno if it's a good idea.
One of your chunk tasks /should probably/ be getting Runespan Esteem Rank 1, which costs.... 211,860 runespan points. This /might/ be a task since it's an achievement required for trimmed comp. Spending 2000 runespan points on 10 teleport tablets so often could really set back this grind.
DaMobzz: Great, another video! need moaar
Woshibairen: Jagex really should add in official bots to make it so that players can play dead content like literally every minigame in the game. There are so many good rewards to the minigames that are gone forever. Their solution to it was this traveling trader that comes every day with different rewards, but it depends on RNG and waiting a long time.
yodal_: I'd love to join you playing Great Orb Project, both to help you out and also to maybe get the achievements I still need from that minigame.
When you are not world-hopping, do you have a world that you tend to play on?
zazo100: I am shocked/confused how many different accounts are you playing at the same time ?!
Here I see 4, but als the original chunkwizard keeps going and I saw rs3 necromancy video yesterday which I am sure had the same voice
adriandimond9097: do not stop please i beg we need rs3 content
paintedporpoise: Side note, I just saw the title of your newest members only video. That has to be the best video title you have done so far absolutely hilairious.
johnbalkin8223: I would give you access to the Air Altar. Like a year ago you could use the Wicked Hood to Teleport to the Air Altar.
sarajohnsson4979: I might be missing something, but I think asphyxiate is strong enough that sonic->dbreath->asphyxiate would be a very similar amount of damage as combust->dbreath->sonic->wm, but in 3 abilities instead of 4?
deathlord269: with using the altar teleports, I believe you'd still need the quests for the death, blood, soul, and time altars. (maybe chaos too, i dont remember entirely if the quest they added is just for getting there without the wilderness or if the quest is now mandatory.
also, the tile used for getting into the altar isnt a big deal for me, but I do question the return trip to the wizards tower. That feels a little against the spirit if a chunk account if there isn't a way to return to your starting chunk.
Not sure if this is still fixed with the wicked hood you can get from runespan, or if that was changed with the update to mtx/daily scape. (the hood lost a lot of its functionality with the removal of mtx and daily scape)
also wow, i know its been a bit over a year since I did great orb project on spotlight but I didn't expect it to be that dead.
mildduh2683: If you quit i cry
OmniDan26: t. Hunky
williamadams5471: Are you tele-grabbing the accursed ashes? Might not be worth it, but they do give slightly more xp than impish ashes.
NordicRest: With regards to Magic training, how much have you looked into how level affects accuracy (and therefore training rates, especially with the Mindspike)? Accuracy scales harder with level in the later levels, having a cubic factor that finally becomes relevant later. At level 90, for example, you have a 57.6% hit chance with the Mindspike, compared to your current 37%. Combined with the difference in ability damage from leveling, you end up dealing almost twice as much damage to the demon. At level 98, it's 2.4x asuch as your current damage. That could make Mindspike "AFKing" the demon a lot more viable during your later levels.
benjiboy1337: I don't like the altar teleport tabs as a method compared to brute forcing Orb Project, due to that one tile "exception". I'm not going to stop watching if you decide it's just so much more time efficient that the comparison isn't worth making, but if the math is close and you can get the runes through Orb Project without having to re-bond the alts multiple times, I think that would be a more pure result.
McNibbler: goofy question, is there a way to get easy clue scrolls in this chunk? you could maybe try doing some and just destroy any time you don't get a wizard's tower step (progress is saved if you do this). I know the briefcase is on the drop table and is technically a melee weapon with no stat requirements? maybe that can make the black weapon grind possible if you get really lucky
checker297: I dont think you should allow the teleports. You get a lot of air runes as your RC level goes up (99 rc = 10 air, 110 is 11!) I think the biggest thing will be getting the t75 staff - weapons have such a massive impact in RS3 combat system. If you can kill the lesser demon with 3 casts, at 90 rc 1 essence = 1 demon kill and with all the runepouches you are looking at 60 worth of demon kills per game
naaat: Iirc using abilities doesn't use runes? You only consume runes when you are using a basic attack (not using an ability)
Also, idk if you normally stream. But if you do, you could get the viewers to play the Great Orb project with you so you could craft runes? Or you could try joining a clan and see if your clanmmates would do that with you?
Graine01: You dont need runes realy it is only for basic attack. If you se your rotation correctly you barely use any runes. Also dont forget you accuracy goes up a lot with levels so your 7.5k is very pessimistic, it will probs be closer to 12 if not 15 with proper stup. Because basic attack is the last resort in the default rotation, so if you setup a ton of adrenaline gen and dump you dont even get to cast basic attack. Recomended is 4 generators and wild magic as dump, you will sit consistently at about 10% adrenalien with constant rotation.
imakedookie: holy crap rs3 looks like a dreadful experience... afkscape to the max. THERES TOO MUCH GOING ON I AM JUST A SIMPLE MAN!!!!
BlueDude69: Did you quit you osrs one chunk
