The Origin of Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria

Before the murders, before the rumors, before the locked doors and flickering lights, Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza was meant to be something simple.

A place for kids.

Two Inventors, One Dream

In the late 1970s, two engineers worked side by side: Henry Emily and William Afton.

Henry was a visionary. He believed machines could make children happy — that technology could bring magic to life. William was just as intelligent, but colder, more practical. He saw machines not as joy, but as control.

Together, they opened Fredbear’s Family Diner, a small restaurant featuring two animatronic mascots:

Fredbear, a golden bear with a friendly smile

Spring Bonnie, a yellow rabbit

These animatronics were special. They used springlock technology, allowing a human to wear them like suits or let them perform on stage. The diner became popular almost overnight.

Families loved it.

Children laughed.

But William watched more than he smiled.

Expansion: The Birth of Freddy Fazbear

Henry wanted to grow. He designed new characters — safer, simpler animatronics that didn’t require springlocks.

That’s when Freddy Fazbear was born.

Alongside him came:

Bonnie the Bunny

Chica the Chicken

Foxy the Pirate Fox

They were colorful, musical, and designed purely for entertainment. Unlike Fredbear and Spring Bonnie, these animatronics were never meant to be worn.

With these characters, the partners opened a larger restaurant:

Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza

It was louder, brighter, and more successful than Fredbear’s ever was. Ball pits, arcade cabinets, birthday shows — it became the perfect family destination.

Fredbear’s Family Diner slowly faded into the background.

But not everything was right.

The First Cracks

William grew distant. He obsessed over the animatronics’ internal systems, especially how they reacted to children. He noticed something strange — emotional energy, memories and behavior patterns that lingered after hours.

Henry didn’t see it.

Or maybe he didn’t want to.

At the same time, security complaints began appearing. Children wandering off. Employees reporting someone wearing a yellow rabbit suit where it shouldn’t be.

Still, the business stayed open.

Until the day everything changed.

The Missing Children Incident

During a busy afternoon, five children disappeared inside Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza.

Witnesses later reported seeing a man dressed as Spring Bonnie leading them toward a back room — a place cameras didn’t reach.

The children were never seen again.

Their bodies were hidden inside the animatronics:

Freddy

Bonnie

Chica

Foxy

and a spare golden suit, later known as Golden Freddy

At first, Fazbear Entertainment denied everything.

But soon, parents complained of foul odors. Black fluid leaked from the animatronics’ eyes and joints. The robots began behaving strangely — twitching, staring, moving when they shouldn’t.

Henry realized the truth too late.

The children weren’t gone.

They were inside the machines.

A Restaurant Becomes a Tomb

Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza shut down shortly after.

The newspapers called it an accident.

The company called it bad publicity.

But at night, something walked the empty halls.

The animatronics no longer performed for joy. They moved with purpose. With anger. With memory.

They believed every adult was the man who killed them.

Freddy Fazbear — once a symbol of laughter — became a prison for lost souls.

The Legacy Begins

Though the building closed, the name Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza did not die.

Fazbear Entertainment would reopen new locations, reuse old parts, and pretend nothing had happened.

But the curse was already born.

Every Freddy’s that followed carried the same shadow.

Because Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza wasn’t just a restaurant anymore.

It was a reminder.

Some places never forget what happened inside them.
