derekstone9715: Epic is what killed it. I played religiously for the first 4-5 years and was top 100 on my Playlist. Battlepass was aweful, trading discontinued was a major blow, and in general the ranking system was super broken. After a while, they never did a hard reset, so you would end up with players who were carried to their false rank which then would lead to stagnation. Climbing the rank system was always a millimeter forward and three steps back other than for new players which is why hard resets are needed. The queue time was absolutely atrocious even in 2017-2019 when I was top 100; I would try to queue on my lunch break and wouldn't get a single match in the entire hour. I ended up creating an alt back then which I purposely kept a low rank just so I could have fun. Rocket league never dealt with smurfs (even me on my alt.) which also killed the experience for millions. Unsportsmanlike conduct needed greater attention too. Now RL is plagued by cheaters I will most likely never really play again and that's sad because I always wanted to play it with my kids, especially now that they are old enough.

EarthRL: Congrats man all of this you earned it and deserved it, thanks for keeping the Rocket League community active for all those years and years to come, this is my favorite game ever since it lauched on PS4 (we started to play at the same time), and I can't imagine how many players you have brought to this game, you have such a big impact on this game, if it weren’t for your dedication, the community wouldn’t be what it is today, so thanks for keeping my favorite game alive, I still share the same passion for the game even 9 years later, Rocket League will always be my #1.

For the longest time, a lot of fans like myself thought that you knew that you were posting similar content to others and dismissed it. But now, since you have spoken up about some of the problems in this game, and since you are the largest rl creator atm, maybe, just maybe, Epic may change.

jeremyd6744: Thanks for the insight on your backstory! You were one of the first RL YT I followed, probably starting around Covid lockdown, and have always enjoyed your content. I think RL needs something to breathe life into the game, but I think it's challenging because RL players want it to be so clean and pure. I think Fortnite does benefit heavily from the changing story, changing characters, new weapons and mechanics introduced almost monthly, but for RL that doesn't seem to jibe with the players. People don't want to have crazy mechanics added to their games, they just want soccar. Even the extra modes, I love Rumble and Snow Day, but the "serious" players don't seem to like those at all. I do think making community maps easier to access and easier to create would do something for the game. Nobody wants a "fortnitification" of RL, but there's lots of ideas working there that can be ported over without making RL feel like a copycat.
