Watch this if youve never played Path of Exile 1!

BakeTheCake: Played for 2 years but still watching this video xD still new to this game

elvisman1075: 5642 hours in PoE1. Idk why, but I am watching it

niclasdahlberg8866: Thank you Ghazzy for all the tips and help, i have played poe 1 since 2011 and you have been a great help to me. Keep up the good work

CuriousCarl1: Is it just me or is this Ghazzy being a bit uncomfortable trying to explain poe1 to who probably are mostly poe2 players watching this? Throughout the whole vid he looks like he knows what he's saying makes sense to him, but probably, despite his best efforts, is going to make new players' heads spinning no matter how structured and well-explained his info is.

That being said, kudos for trying to be concise and comprehensive at the same time, I don't think it's really possible to do it any better.

Gale42: I have 200h into Poe1 and never got past a yellow map (serial reroller syndrome or something idk) and little over a 1000 into PoE2 (done all content here at least) , hopefully surely this time I will make it to the voidstones right guys?

StretfordEndGaz: unless i missed it, you should have said after act 5 you lose 30% resistances as well so not 75 but 105 needed to cap

nokedliusz: I have 800 hours and didnt know i could respec the bandit choice. I feel stupid now

apersondath813: damn im fast

Ferdnmn: I’m so dumb that I need a video like that for POE2 lol

sinteleon: Watching this despite starting from poe1 cause it's still WAY TOO COMPLICATED. :v

Shinnra: Thanks Gazzy, you’re like my Poe dad, always teaching stuff in a kind and nice way

vyktorzhuravlev8304: We needen more these

StoriesOfOld-b8i: Good video even though the atlas is obsolete for phrecia it will help in the future leagues etc!

tc40390: Would love a list of like noob friendly builds to accompany a video like this

FlossedUp: I got 1700hrs in POE1 and this video helped me. Is that hideout you got still available?? I neeeed it lol

enragedares5992: Honestly I'd love to try playing poe1 , but I'm a poe2 newcomer to the genre , and I just can't without WASD , I've been spoilt

cbpgmc: PBOD here i come!!

eepopgames2741: I kind of disagree that an end-league economy is bad for new players. I understand that there is a lot of the economy they would be cut off from, but honestly that is a part of the economy they are unlikely to reach anyway their first time through the game. On the other hand, the other effect of the economy at this point is the market is absolutely flooded with items that cost a few Chaos Orbs and are good items for early mapping.

I would argue that the criteria for "success" on a new player first play through of PoE 1 is beating a single red map. They do not need to get any voidstones, they don't need to farm enough to get a headhunter, etc.

So I think its actually a great time for them to play their first league. There is definitely a wall in the economy they might hit if they play enough that would not exist at the start of the league. But since they are completely new to the game, there is plenty other things for them to do if that happens and they want to play more. If that happens, my recommendation would be playing through a couple more characters that are on different parts of the passive tree and use different gameplay (melee, projectile, spells, minions). And try all the league mechanics you come across at least once.

If a new player played through all that in their first exposure to the game, they would then be well set up to jump in harder at the start of the next league. They would have a feeling of what kind of build they would find most fun when considering league starters, they would have worked through a lot of the basics like sockets/links, they would have had time to try all the league mechanics to at least know which seems fun. Then their second league they can focus on having goals like getting their 4 voidstones and figuring out how to properly farm their favorite league mechanic for more currency.

SerithPari: Hey Ghazzy, been an off and on fan of the channel for a while. I appreciate you making a new player’s guide and all. However I feel like you skimmed over a majority of the actual information that real new players would need to know and spent 2/3rds of the video focused on the endgame.

I get the endgame is what people spend a lot of time doing, but I don’t think it’s very helpful to new players.

Not to talk badly of the video, I just don’t think the video is actually a great “new players” guide and instead feels like a PoE1 guide for returning players or PoE2 players.

kamikads: A guide for new players in Path of Exile, spanning about half an hour. Classic.

BlueberryJamPie: Bandits are definitely the most important part since depending on the build, they either kill all or take a specific one which can make or break certain builds.

ll8349: Hope they stop wasting time with this dead game. No new players are starting poe1. 0

crab4309: advice 1: never play in poe 2
