Also this is a chase rune and supposed to be pretty rare. It SHOULD be that impactful. It also doesn't give ANY power, but it gives speed which is nice. Let's see the other 20 options they bring because I doubt there's no competition for this.

dystopia2514: They really saw the feedback of how we don't like how certain affixes are mandatory for an item to be good and said "but what if we also added runes that are universally BiS?"

bzerk1: You have a good point with implicit move speed, but if we don’t get that I like these runes. I think they would at least make a lot of unique boots we may want to use more viable.

CTL: Yeah I was hoping there was going to be a common movement speed rune was supposed to bandaid less good boots to catch up to good boots, like a rune that granted 20% movespeed but only on boots that don't have movespeed, or adds movespeed until it hits 25.

BauN3RD: I think the essence thing with the movement speed runes will be a big fuckup if it actually works the way I think it will. Giving people with money the tools to make even more money even quicker. I know that from somewhere, haha.

For the SSF ladder races it's even worse. The guy who finds the essence, the boots and gets the lucky slam has won. Better luck next time to everyone else.

As a player who enjoys friendly competition, I hate when that competition is mainly based on RNG. Even if RNGesus would decide that I am the lucky guy, I would hate the thought of having an "unfair" advantage.

code25010: A boot implicit option that granted 15/20% would be good, but would need alternatives that gave people real viable options to choose from, like reduced cooldown on movement skills or increased dodge distance.

The1rust: As an SSF player, the way they're holding on to what feels like the most dated, janky and backwards aspect of the game and not accepting how bad crafting is is what's likely going to make me stop playing PoE 2 especially if PoE 1 gets back on track with leagues.

These are simply providing an illusion of crafting when all they are are deterministic items you slap in to an item you found off the ground because you can't be bothered to pull the slot machine level in hopes you win several times in a row to get even a decent item.

dab01_fs: I love this but there are major issues with the skills themselves that need to be addressed. As a minion player there’s no real way to scale minions. I can scale levels till I’m blue in the face but my damage will never ever be as high as lightning spear. We need proper scalability. I’m not sure how to achieve this. Reverting minion scalability and damage back to 0.1 would be a start as the maximum scaling still wouldn’t match other skills, but there needs to be more. These are cool and I embrace them, however they will just make the broken skills even more broken, yet the skills that need a major buff will barely be effective

Val-xi4we: Agreed. Making BIS items just cookie cutters everyone into the same builds. A better way to do this would be create a few Quest type rewards that give 1% movement as a reward for every 2 ascendancy points. Or do it via a new quest chain every 20 levels for that 1%.

Kam-go3bc: Low key hoping they are rare enough that they're are only worth using with essence of horror boots, but we'll see!

drifterx1389: my prediction is that some of these (move speed being one) will be rarely seen, on the level of how often we see a whittling omen....meaning most players wont use them and they will sell them instead. Only the players running around with 100 divine gear will use them. I mean I have almost 100 div in my ranger at this point but if I see a move speed rune and it sells for 3-5div, I believe I will be selling. So I don't really think it will be a problem in the sense of move speed itself, just another rare item (currency) to sell and rarely use.

Maginator1: I think the movement speed rune should be socketable for others thing than boots maybe. I know it is logical to have to movement speed in the boots thematically but if it was somewhere else it might have had more competition and of you let it be socketable everywhere it might even be a choice between more power of zoomies. But dont know if that would break the game to much.

bigimportantman1544: Meh. I’d take 40% increased presence of area range before I’d take 10% movement speed.

This is a mandatory pick for blasters running the latest meta build; not the average player doing their own build.

mmmmmq: I mean, saying you could now double socket with speed runes - To be fair you could’ve also corrupted it with a move speed enchant anyway.

(Of course, implicit makes a lot more sense)

Vaisukin: for the movement speed, i don’t think it’s necessary for many builds that are viable, rather people are opting into spirit heavy builds taking most their slots when all it takes is one skill slot for a movement skill, for monks if you have decent attack speed gathering storm is a 1 second skill that covers lots of distance, guaranteed shock and a 20% more damage when socketed with perfection, i’m traveling faster that 35% move speed, we also have our unarmed dash attacks which also cover crazy distance, spear and bow players have rhoa, we have skills like rake and whirling slash, mace has shield charge, mages have lighting warp and blink, although probably the worst of all the options. in most scenarios building more skill speed and running a movement skills better than having 35% movement boots, as it double dips in value for your build, making you faster and do more dps, along with allowing boots to be focused more on other stats like defences.

Early game during the campaign though does make movement speed feel like a necessity since you don’t start off with these skills, so i do think maybe making at least like 10-15% implicit on boots as a min could be a play, with making the highest prefix roll a 20, makes it so all boots have value during the game, boots can get some pretty good amount of defences when you have a build that doesn’t need movement speed, which is just another layer of build choices that i like, i want to run a pure eva chest piece since spectral ward and beastial skin are such good nodes, but im also using a unique helmet that doesn’t have a lot of es. I use high es boots, then socket gathering storm and i’m still fast, plus getting good boots without movement speed is significantly cheaper, making it a very good optimization play.

EDRVerano: They turned charm slots on belts into an implicit. Why can't they just do the same with boots and move speed?
