tobias14767: Hi, scarab farmer here. I run winged strongbox scarab and roll for 3 rare monsters on all boxes to get the most scarabs out of the map using nemeses sacarab 2 rare mods on t17 map and the atlas node for rares drop more scarabs per mod affecting it. Huge qol for me.

Mike91Owen: The only time I've not used Tamper-proof was during the Phrecia event with strongbox idols. When you're investing the more expensive strongbox scarabs to get dozens of arcanist/div boxes with ~50% re-open chance, not rolling % increased and flat extra item drops would've felt like a waste. They may be updating the tree for more re-open chance to make it worth spending the time rolling the boxes?

SuperFlamingSword: Surely they will rework the unique strongboxes and add a ton more unique variants that make it fun and rewarding to chance-scour til unique. Surely they won't remove tamper proof

Veginite: Honestly, I think this change could allow more rewards from strongboxes. Rare strongboxes spawn with 1 suffix and 2-3 prefixes in 95% of cases. Only when you reroll them they get juicy. The only time you currently wouldn't run tamper proof is pilfering ultra juicing. Requires one hell of a build though, unless you go with a map whose boss doesn't do much. 1000 div cards on the jungle valley spider one shot my 14.6k ES EE LS prophet with 246k EHP. No damage mods nor crit on the maps.

As others have pointed out, it's amazing for the pilfering strat. Div scarab of pilfering, ambush scarab of discernment containment potency hidden compartments. Thicc mausoleum maps with as much quant and pack size as possible, trying to squeeze out div dupe quant altars from Eater. Roll the diviner's boxes with engi orbs etc. for IIQ flat quantity.

Some find it tedious, I think it's great fun. Amazing for SSF, even better if you scry the card(s) you want.

Zevrael: Additionally to what other people have said about specific strategies that roll strongboxes, this change might also be useful for people who want to roll their strongboxes during campaign or who can't afford to put any points into ambush but still want to roll the random boxes they do encounter.

morfea123: Casual trade/SSFer, tamper is nice extra. So overall it would be a net negative unless you drown in currency which i am not. So box becomes a skip.

EtherPump: This change is a boon for me, pretty much only because i'm a psycho.

I'm also chasing uniques and at the same time trying to have them be as good as possible at the same time.

Meaning i have the best rolled unique in the unique tab, and a butt ton of stashtabs for duplicate uniques i can 3>1 to have a chance to get a better rolled unique. I'm currently going for Warbanner uniques and i could use 'Tamper Proof' but then i can't 3>1 them cause they drop corrupted.

Guy-McPerson: I think this is just something quick and easy to implement for the staff. Even though we've gone a year without any real updates, it's been confirmed they haven't put any effort into the next expansion until very recently. Backporting this from poe 2 is quick & easy and gives them something to put out to keep people calm.

renediffie: I hope they do a major revamp of the Atlas tree. If they end up doing that then it wouldn't be surprising if tamper proof is no longer present.

Xomage999: If I were them, I'd arrange it so the easy/lazy Tamper Proof strategy is still kept and viable, but a bit less lucrative than a mindful un-corrupted box strategy. Perhaps doable by having small bonuses to non-corrupted strongboxes to incentivize some rolling.

You're probably right though, and it is the things that they aren't showing that will be the most alarming. We'll know tomorrow at least.

finalfragment8432: I think they added it because they did in poe 2. And the reason they showcased it is because it kinda looks nice not because we will ever use. I dunno maybe it's nice when u still don't have freeze immune

bobbysnobby: I don't run tamper proof when I'm juicing boxes I am rolling mods on them. Usually if I'm doing div card strats with pilfering and exile fracture farming. I think tamper proof is good for speed clears but if your fully investing in a given map then rolling boxes I think is generally correct.

undecided4346: I feel like what would be a greater indication of tamper's removal would be it's usage rate.

If it's something like 85% or higher then yeah this is probably the cushioning of the blow.
