Shopping CartNope_No_Thx: I'm burnt out because I played 2 weeks straight, had a great time, and am done till next league. This is the pattern, and I'm lucky to be able to even have such a pattern.
cylordm6994: DM is correct in everything he says here. Just because you like hamburgers doesn't mean you must eat nothing but hamburgers. If you are tired of hamburgers, go eat something else ffs. If you are tired of POE, go play something else; come back when you feel like having a burger again.
FlameForgedSoul: Log... off?
TheHamscha1: This should become common sense for everyone. Thanks for doing the right thing.
WeLikeFacts55: How do people not understand this basic concept
WrathOfAnima: People have forgotten that games are meant to be fun. Stop playing when you're not having fun. Play something else, watch something else. Go out. Those divine drops will be there when you feel like finding them again.
wanderer8038: exactly, your job as a player is to have fun, they should worried if you are not having fun.
K-Matt89: Sucking at hardcore definitely burns you out
Zerochilluwu: 100% its mad to be doing something your not enjoying, that's what jobs are for.
hotdog5927: why would I be burned out the patch made loot drop again, off to maps I go
arckmage5218: I quit at act 9 in 3.27. I'm finally getting over this addiction. I have like over 2.5k hours in the past 3 years... it's finally time for me to move on.
seanrogers3389: There's nothing wrong with taking a prolonged break. It's just basic common sense. Nothing, no matter how brilliant, can be fun forever.
KaptenInsano: Yeah I will always play Poe but when Im burnt out I simply go to something different.
trowabarton222: How dare you speak common sense!
veechaeuphrates8512: Kind of agree, kind of disagree. People put themselves into their work especially when it comes to things that involve an artistic endeavor/entertainment. The whole reason I like supporting devs whose work I enjoy financially is because they've put in a lot of hard work into effectively improving the quality of my life. So I pay money to hopefully reward them for it and improve their quality of life. It's one of the reasons I have such a negative view of generative AI being used in entertainment. If a company doesn't want to pay for labor, there's no reason for me to want to pay for the product.
However, if you're playing a game when you're no longer enjoying it you're sending the wrong feedback. The developer gets the wrong message and then puts out a game you don't like in the future. It's counter-productive to the intent of supporting them.
MERS1_206: The entire premise about worrying about people you dont know is wild to me. Most people dont check on their friends or family enough yet will worry about some dude in an office halfway around the world who makes their favorite video game.
nogasa3159: dm is such a humble galactic emperor
mattmbx5472: MegaBonk did the trick
ishitrealbad3039: PoE players are so funny sometimes.
They spend hundreds of hours without end on the game and than complain that the game isn't fun and that they are burned out. yeah you did that to yourself buddy, go touch grass every once in a while
AI_Ghostwriter: Take breaks. Play other things. Maybe play Tarkov?
Liquidate everything into influence orbs before you go though for if you come back in a month. xdd
ShennyIsLive: Bo Burnham said it best when he explained, in one of his specials, that he's in the service industry. People pay him to see him perform, he performs, everyone goes home afterwards. Do not support him through thick and thin. If he no longer interests you, drop him. This is the understanding and silent agreement between an audience and a creator. Neither party owes the other anything. Absolutely correct.
ThatKrayDJ: I've taken a little break and went back to another playthrough of cyberpunk. The break has saved some gray hairs.
meowcheeses9870: this league I didn't have very much fun after I finished the atlas and got my voidstones so I went back to torchlight infinite and I'm brushing up on d2 for the new pd2 league. there's so many enjoyable arpg experiences out right now that it's just self sabotage to force yourself to play something that you aren't having fun with right now
redfish337: The point of playing is to have fun.
You shouldn't play if you don't have fun.
But it does matter what they do. Like, you know I used to look forward to Marvel and Star Wars stuff until they started driving it into the ground? I'd like to still like these. I liked NBA a lot more before it became a 3-point shooting contest.
PoE exists because the devs saw D3 and decided they wanted an ARPG going in a different direction.
And most likely the direction it actually ended up isn't the direction they were going for.
It's a bit of a bother, but the bitching and moaning is part of the process keeping the game somewhat going forward in the direction we would like. So you can actually log out and presume it will more or less still be there when you decide to log back in. Would be still be in settlers league now if everyone just politely let the devs focus on PoE2 until 1.0?
Bubajumba: Problem with burn out is you don't have anything better to do and just end up logging in afking in hideout
JohnnyJetpack: I'm burned out because i as it turns out like the chase of a build than actually playing it. By "chase" i mean finding all the items, gems like gearing and building a build than actually playing. I realised it this league that once i finished the build there's nothing left. I'm bored of destroying endgame every league, bored of ubers, t17s. Burned out.
gipsydanger5020: It's not that I'm burnt out, it's that over the past couple years they keep nerfing and taking so many things away and it really does feel like they are trying to make PoE 1 into PoE 2. This league is first time I've played in over a year and I am surprised with how much skills and atlas tree and loot has been nerfed. Some of my fav skills to play are so weak and constantly go without buffs. It's just not fun.
