lepsek: Doryani's Prototype is fairly popular with a similar effect, despite the much more serious downside it has. The damage taken is annoying, but even just with 90 fire res and no other reduction makes it easily managable with leech or even regen. The reduced res mod will probably make it kinda hard to penetrate all the way to the (I'm assuming) -200 res cap, but far from impossible.

This will most likely be a go-to item for hit based fire builds, I could see an uptick in use of Avatar of Fire just to take advantage of it. Wouldn't pretty much any build using Original Sin be better off with this AoF if you can scale your pen to below -100 enemy res?

hiccyvid: Amazing unique. One thing to note, according to Jousis triggering a skill is NOT the same as using a skill. You can trigger 50 fire spells and take no damage using cyclone for example.

AbsolutlyN0thin: another thing to consider is this league we're all getting a personal aura bot so fitting in purity of fire/elements will be easier than ever to stack that fire res. even if the mercs can't give purity auras, you can give them other auras such as determination which then frees up reservation for you to then run them yourself

becausecontextmatters5260: I played chieftain incinerate back in Necropolis league, was thinking of revisiting it this league since incinerate of venting is getting a buff and new channeling gem. I was using Annihilating Light but obviously you can't use it with this ring, so with 185% fire res you need like a 4 gem & 130 spell damage staff to compensate.
