Path Of Exile Ruined Me

OsG1987: This is me aswell right now! I played the hell out of D4 first 2 seasons then discovered PoE. I just can't get back into D4 at the moment. I think it's the lack of variations of skills that kills it for me where PoE has endless possibilities and variations to choose from.
Marb.Gaming: I am 43 years old, I have been playing Diablo since it was released with D1. D4 is a game which broke me, I survived for 2 weeks of season1 - than I just uninstalled and never going back to it again. I have found a home with Last Epoch.
kyliemcdaniel: There is a reason I've been playing poe for over 10 years and I'm still excited like Christmas morning for new league announcements. It's just not even close.
keithbrown1551: PoE did not ruin you at all. You are now used to playing a game that is genuinely better than anything else in its genre. This is what happened when D4 came out. I just kept saying this isnt Path everytime i logged on. As always we see eye to eye. Much love buddy.
kerchstval8916: Never logged back in and wont sadly game lost me after the 2nd season im still playing poe this is the first time ive magic find and its like a whole new world for me so much so i rerolled a new character just to MF im on my 11th character
MrHorcane: D4 is fun, but only for 1-2 weeks. if you wanna blast the only thing out there is poe
AnimaPrisma_: PoE is just one of those games where you keep coming back to. You surely take your breaks and it's actually recommended so that you don't burn out, but you can always keep coming back whenever you get the itch for an ARPG.

P.D.: Once you get to know everything you have to know about PoE, you will finally be able to just play other stuff whenever you are done with each league
larrykenneybrew6632: For me personally I think my problem with both of the games is the lack of social features. I played D2 and loved it because of its time the internet wasn't as a big deal so I was highly content playing alone. Then came D3 which I came into late and all the social features where there for me in the beginning jumping in GR's and trying to beat my friends and then playing with those friends to try to beat out someone on the leader boards with a group. I have noticed im more inclined to play games with friends thats what keeps me coming back the competition between me and my friend group. However D4 lost most of my friends whom have play all diablo games and they wont return. I get I could hop on discord and find people to play with I just don't want to do that im currently on console. POE and even last epoch reignited the creator within me and made me play just to test builds even without playing with friends... with all this being said D4 is showing signs of promise which could potentially bring back players and thats good enough for me to entertain the game with one character each season until its fun again. I have enjoyed the game so far and once I get bored ill leave and play something else. I don't care to support or not support a game for its ethics... im supporting fun and entertainment for me. Play it if its fun, if its not fun don't play it. Its too easy
shaneanigans440: Veteran arpg player here. PoE has been the GOAT for a long time in this genre. With over 8k hours on it myself, it's far and away the best arpg availible atm. However, when I just want to just casually play something, I find myself going back to d3 or d4. D4 atm isn't bad, it's also not good yet... it's turn your brain off and watch a show while you get a toon going. I've been going hard in every PoE league for what seems like a decade now. It's nice to not get burned out by playing something else. Whether it's d2-4, elden ring, or cyberpunk 2077. It's nice not to feel burned out and excited for every build I play in PoE. My burnout might come sooner or later than others, but if you play a game long enough, you know what it feels like.
chunglehunt2266: I tried D4 this season. I played a few hours and did my first capstone but I was just really bored. I know there is more to do later but there is no real end game and it isn’t stuff that’s exciting.

The only time I get bored with PoE is when I finish all my achievements. By that time, I’ve made the builds I want to play for the league. Usually takes me about 6 weeks. During that time, there is never a point where I’m bored. There is always something to do to help me get to where I want to be. Millions of builds, millions of strats, millions of ways approach what your goals are. People will hate on the game for having bloat but I don’t really see it that way. I see it as giving every player the opportunity to play the game how they want to play. At the end of the day, there is not an ARPG remotely close to PoE in most aspects. In a year from now, I still don’t see any ARPG making up any ground on PoE/PoE2. The people at GGG just know what ARPG players want and they deliver a lot of the time. Sure there are leagues that are kinda meh but even those leagues are better than what you’ll get elsewhere. They pump out more content in a season than Blizzard can put out in more than a year. There won’t be a perfect ARPG but GGG sets the bar exponentially higher all the time.
Arxius84: I played, and freaking loved Diablo1. I played, and even more loved Diablo2. I didnt played much Diablo3, it was as feeling the game I loved was turning into different person. Because of that, I found PoE. PoE ruined me too, because now I know, there is always hope, when your favorite game get ruined, you have hope to find new one. Oh and D4? Sorry, doesn't even feel like any Diablo anymore.
As I said, that I loved Diablo2 even more than 1... I expect loving PoE2 also more than PoE1.
