Path of Exile devs are based

reznovvazileski3193: The thing between GGG and how they view player feedback is perfectly stated by Chris Wilson back when he was still devchecking around on these QnAs. He said the player is incredibly good at identifying issues with the game, but not always that great at providing the best solutions to those issues. So player feedback is always inherently important, but you don't necessarily need to answer that by giving people everything they want exactly the way they want it. You got to sanitize that feedback through a developer filter and do what actually makes sense for the game on top of addressing the core issues the players have. I feel like they've been doing a really good job of living by that philosophy and it shows in their content and even the QoL updates we get today. Then even now sometimes they still also critically look at their own views and whether that's still the best thing for the game as well right. Like the whole no bandaid solution philosophy they've been dropping lately and we're loving it because so much discomfort is getting annihilated right now, even if it isn't the most perfect and elegant solution in itself.

Knowledge.to_Come: The devs of this game are the reason why i only play poe now (1 and 2) , other games lack the love behind the developers; that or the freedom upper management to allow the team make meaningful gameplay. GGG understands the player base on a deep level, and like RuneScape, they like to collect community feedback and side with the majority. One of the main reasons for RuneScape continued success is their in game voting system for changes devs plan to make. If enough players vote no to something the devs literally don’t do it. It is marvellous

Veldore: I play in std mostly for legacy builds. love the 25k fire res chest armour stacker build as well as the "vaal skills require %less souls to use" mods on bows to be able to use vaal skills constantly. I have a vaal fireball build on my channel showing off just that.

johnhalliday5420: I hate this idea that because somebody doesn't like the new iteration of an IP, they're no longer part of that community. I'll keep it to Pokémon here since this is what was mentioned, but I've loved Pokémon since I first played it as a kid. I have memories of some 64 games but Diamond was tlky first experience that made me fall in love. I'm part of the Pokémon community and always have been and always will be. Just because I don't like how the new games are doesn't remove me from it. Because AS SOON as they finally make a good Pokémon game, you bet your ass I'll be there to play it. Assuming I'm still alive when that happens.

Covertghost: I think it's really important to have a development team that actually loves playing the game they're working on.

It gives them a ton more perspective (they are actual players) and keeps them in tune with what makes it fun.

Hikarodesu: I think one "problem" about bosses in poe for the whole difficulty and "oh it's too hard" people, is that you have to pay simply to attempt them so you don't really get the ability to trial and error and learn for a lot of people.

DeadInsideDave: Idk about hamster wheels it feels like such a grind to even get to maps, u gotta spam more button than in any other game and half the time thenaverage player gets no rewards til theyre well into endgame. Wisp league was the best cosneven ur average player was dropping things in every map, whoch meant most of the player base actually got to interact with the crafting and league mechanics before feeling like they set the wheel to hard. These last few leagues since scarab change has felt garbage for people who arent in the know or fubgun andys

lizkimber: I think one great point for GGG is that unlike many games, they dont just bend to the whim of the bigger guild/players, too many games like wow/eq/etc will hear from some big guild and just pander to their whim, so the game which starts out great, and was fun, ends up whatever that guild wanted, at the cost of anyone else.
