Path of Exile 2 Frustrations DONE?! New Take on 0.4

DBaronVonV: GGG should really look into creating something similar to the Circle of Fortune from Last Epoch. It would solve a lot of problems of people who don't really wanna engage with trade and don't have 12-16 hours a day to grind on the game. Might be a while till they even consider it though, seeing as it took them 12 years to implement Asynchronous Trade.

zergolicious666: im just casually playing when i can, abyss league was tons of fun and probably the most time i spent in poe 2.

echoesofmalachor3700: I think there is an acceptable middle ground between SSF and trade. Just limit yourself to the currency exchange. If you get a lucky divine, annul etc it’s the same thing as asking a cashier to break your hundred dollar bill for some twenties. Same thing with runes that aren’t of any use to your build. Exchange it for some crafting mats you do need.

I play trade but don’t buy or sell until I down the arbiter. Anyway-just a suggestion for future leagues or characters.

Akitorbenov: My frustration persist. Too long loading times.

jayrig4712: The most fun I’ve been having is a hybrid SSF. I can use the currency exchange and sell my items, but I can’t buy any off the trade website. It’s a good middle ground and still makes floor loot exciting. I honestly think it’s the most fun I’ve had playing ever. Normal trade feels a bit too easy, you can do t16 and all Ubers on 1d worth of gear. In trade 90% of your character power comes in the first couple of upgrades, I just don’t have fun getting the extra 10%. Playing this way I’m having more consistent but gradual power upgrades.

mythos4: One think I liked about Last Epoch was the separate trade league and (buffed) no trade.

igorpereira1090: I thought it was only me was having issues with loading time. Thanks for vocalizing it!

steamh4mmer264: If it wasnt an exploit, then why did ggg fix it as soon as possible? Fucki g up the league even more.

z0ttel89: 'I beat my dad, my brother and all my friends ....

... in the race'.

blaster_pro: the major problem with ssf is the focus on loot drop for replay-ability with new characters and trading.... this philosophy of dropping different classes while you are playing ssf is just bad... you finally get a unique item after hours and its for a different class... I don't EVEN want to buff my new character when I start again, the whole point is the struggle... but with this situation ssf gets wayyyyy unbalanced on the fun level because you hardly interact lets say with 20% of the game mechanics.... cause things just don't drop for you...

if they just remove other classes from loot table I am sure ssf would get 20x more fun while still being more challenging....

keep the scarcety on the item quality axis, not on mechanic options axis...

also they should allow some kind of currency exchange on ssf, with a big spread and cut to allow experimenting... (poe1 has currency exchange with NPCs)

Pravlord: Until they let us get 6 crystals in a t15 maps. Temple will feel tedious to interact with.

suzukisixk7: between crashes and lag the game is unplayable. too bad too because i was really liking the balance/skill/passive tree changes from 0.2 when i played last.

skiruskronos2732: Path has good leagues and path has always had bad leagues. You don't need to play every league. Take a break, come back when you're not burned out, but i know the game will always continue to get better forever.

henriquealvesxavier2313: I couldnt play the first week this league and was super stressed I wouldn't be able to trade. Turns out I'm getting better at crafting and perhaps I don't need trade to have fun - I actually had a lot more fun crafting my own busted talismans

michaelnorth5528: Last Epoch has a brilliant system where you can play in a non-trade system, and in return, you get extra drops (think quant qual) and then ALSO you get the ability to target farm things you are looking for. You get a special "currency" that lets you take these little challenges where once you, lets say, kill any boss - it will drop 20 rare shields. You can stack up these challenges and then get a massive amount of the thing you are trying to improve. So rings, weapons, whatever - and you can target farm uniques this way too. So you get everything you need just from playing the game yourself, with player agency. It's such a spectacular system - honestly the best thing LE has brought to the genre. If GGG weren't degenerate gambling addicts, they could implement something similar in POE2 and they could make everybody happy. But too much player agency is something that they just do not seem to like from a design perspective. There HAS to be stacked layers of randomness involved or they inevitably nerf it or remove it.

FaxFireFox: I'm on ps5 is anyone else hving a terrible time with lag and skips? I can't get a solid experience on it ever since the last major update... It's virtually unplayable atm

dylan2906: I think people are really overstating how fast it was to make a "perfect" temple with the "exploit". I did holden temples myself (i.e. having to die repeatedly to not overlevel) for about 20 hours, and my snake is now 12 rooms long.

There's a huge amount of RNG to it, and you have to play like it's your job AND your hobby to have gotten a temple with 40 rooms in a chain like streamers are showing. The economy will be fine...the people who have those chains already made mirrors in the first two days of the patch anyway from the abyss strat (not even calling it an exploit since you could reasonably think it was intended tbh.)

wenisbrosgaming5059: me finding 2 citadels this leafue so far has made endgame feel so much vetter now , tablet changes feel nice

DF-je3lz: Tri looking like he is about to ask you where the gabagool is or you’re going to get a talking from his boys

ChrisRWitt: Idk what GGG will do next league for the Temple's Atlas, but I think it'd be cool if you could choose a node that gives you only path tiles so you could blitz Atziri. That'd be similar to expedition's mega bomb where the mechanic is made so much easier for people that don't like it.

scotthughes765: I would love a guild bros self found, where you and your guild can play together and can give each other gear but you don't use trade at all but you can still multiplayer and can give each other stuff

NoirTenshin: my 2cc:

Currently, the design is that you need basic gear to start mapping, getting synergized but meh gear to consistently do t15, and then a huge gap to go higher than that.

The issue is right there, how to upgrade that synergized gear to go higher without replacing a complete set or doing some huge tradeoffs. That is where the trade comes in / and crafting.

But with the current design, trade/economy (at that gear level) is where "economy pvp" hits the hardest, useful "ok" gear and higher towards the really epic highest tier gear. So no matter how good the gear is, if it "unobtainable" (25 divs per item which can be like 20-40h of grind up to items that are like 150 divines) it's not really an option.

If we are talking about crafted gear, due to how you are locked into the current build, only items with like 4 mods of the highest tier make sense (and in some cases you need to corrupt that gear and hope to get the mod you want, like minions skills on the helmet). To be able to craft that gear, the time needed to research, invest, understand everything just isn't viable for the majority of players. So technically that tier of gear also isn't viable option for many.

Grinding until a lucky 4 mod drop for your build also isn't an option for majority of players, just too many mods are cramped into the pool, thus the probability is too low for that to happen in a reasonable amount of time.

In Final Fantasy XIV there was a "catch up" mechanic, a long quest that gives you second best gear in the game (at the time it was known as a relic quest iirc).

Basically, you get a quest that allows you to get gear-ready for raids even if you missed the previous raid (usually the raids give highest iLvl gear, this is like 3-5% lower in power).

So why not just let me design my basic gear, and over time boost the stats of that gear to something more powerful? Something that will allow me to upgrade (even if random) stat values and a separate currency that allows me to upgrade the tier of a random mod on the gear?

I don't mind grinding for long hours, but it needs to go somewhere, deterministically. Keep all the current systems in the game, just add an additional option that may not be competitive to other options but let me play and engage with the systems I enjoy, even if it's only combat...

Let me reach that pinnacle without having to engage into hostile systems where I feel relief if I don't lose.

geoDB.: Hello tri, if you are interested in better performance, have you considered playing the game on the stand alone client rather than the steam version? I would say the performance on it is like atleast 30%, for me atleast

Krawler14: Funny thing is, is last league Pathfinder was still insanely strong. I played it.. and poison pathfinder was insanely strong. Sometimes a buff isn't actually needed, because sometimes the content creators are to blame for what's "meta"
