Well.. at least those maps were small!
In POE 2 there is a huge amount of backtracking, plus the enourmous maps make it feel really tedious.
Now since the 0.2.0 patch, the mobs are way stronger, and clearing these huge backtracking nightmare maps starts to become unbearable for me.
I'll be quitting POE2 for the moment until they figured it out.

narutopatel123: Great take, "tedious" is never the word you want your game to be described as which defeats the whole point of video games.
Then there are countless examples of minor limiters to build createivity, for example: you expect inginuity to work with all 3 ring slots for new ascendancy, but they made it apply to only base 2 slots, which again feels just wrong, plain wrong, goes against the spirit of what POE is.
Trying to balance ARPG with lens of MOBA just kills the romance of discovering new build and cool interactions.
oloyolopl: I absolutely LOVE how you summarized the "It's just early access" situation. I fell in love with PoE 1 a few years ago, and am a bit sad that the game is pretty much abandoned at this point. I had high hopes for PoE 2, damn I still do. I just want to have fun playing a fun game. Sadly, we are in a situation now when PoE 2 is everything BUT fun and PoE 1 was literally murdered by GGG. Noone talks about it but you can check PoE 1 subreddit these last few days... Despite there being BARELY any players in the Phercia league the servers are DYING. They literally pulled the plug on my favourite game and are trying their best to ruin my experience in the sequel. I really, really hope that in a few months... (or years...) GGG will listen to the players and find the time to finally get PoE 2 to fully polished state to focus on PoE 1 leagues again... Getting the original PoE 1 - PoE 2 league rotations that we were PROMISED feels so unrealistic for now tho...

jtg753: What gets tiring is how skills/nodes often work. You have to sacrifice to gain something. A few nodes doing it is fine, but now too many do it. Some ascendancy nodes are just dumb because of the "screw myself over for a minor power up". Maybe this is why it feels like you don't get stronger as you progress.
lolleonlolable: 100% idk how "spamming dogeroll" is meaningfull combat we need stuff like flamedash etc, INSTANT casts, also more move speed in generall mobs have way too many tools compared to us players, like some mobs are even invisible and than dash/blink in your face and than just freeze you out of nowhere or stun or even surround you if there is a pack you cant even dodgeroll out of the surround sometimes thats too much specially on hc. also i really disslike that they kinda force everyone to playtest poe2, "you dont have to" yeah no we kinda have to because they basicly stopped caring about poe1 completly too its crazy to me. like that "good will" that they have because poe1 will soon fade away, idk man im loosing hope. the current vision is not it, nobody wants this. also what is this ascandancy design ? i was hyped to play lich when i did my first lab i was like "cool aura that gives my minions damage" oh .. but you degen 5% mana (im already ooming in bossfights because i use alot of mana) so i cant take it, respeccd essence drain, cool lets use this 30%more damage node, ehh yeah no it takes 3%es to cast ONE spell and i have to cast curse/ed/contaigon/that chaos totem thing *2, thats 5 casts and i have to basicly spamm all those so im just killing myself .. ok yeah than i just take the bad node that does almost nothing but it has no bad downside at least. like what ? were supposed to feed good about ascandancy points and not be like "ok i do 20%more dmage but now my mana is gone how do i fix that to even make use of the 20% damage .. who thought this is a good idea ? i just wanna play the game, have some fun. this is not it.

2Joe90: Regarding the early access slow update cycle, they talked about this a bit in an interview before 0.2 that they did have plans for patches to be more frequent and smaller but the immense vitriolic feedback during launch with stuff like the gas arrow nerf and meta gem changes made them rethink their approach and decide to treat the early access as a released finished product despite it not being as one which I get why considering the majority of people are unwilling to view any game released otherwise nowadays especially when compared to PoE1's closed beta. That isn't to say this current method isn't very disappointing as I would had preferred something like the demon form changes to had been a smaller patch released on it's own instead of bundled with a whole slew of changes which makes it incredibly unclear what the intended play style of the skill is. Just gotta hope the long wait for 0.2 has just been a self-contained issue and 0.3 alongside future patches are more frequent as I do believe the game has a future as we've had bad patches before in PoE1 with 3.15 and 3.19 but the game still recovering from those afterwards.
wh0reb0t: I think more important community members should be making videos like this because it helps bring about change. Reddit is easy to dismiss but when someone that has championed the company for years agrees, it has more weight.

DFW72: We need to face the fact that the issue with poe2 is the devs. Most of the “problems” with the game are part of the VISION. The devs quite literally do not want the game to be fun as most of the player-base understand fun.
Be less positive, consistent negativity and lost revenue is the only way the d2 nostalgia/Ruthless wannabeism will stop. The issue is largely not with lack of polish but that the devs are fundamentally misaligned.
If you’re in the majority that thinks so, just tell them clearly that their vision sucks. Feedback on specific game mechanics will just lead to years of frustration as they talk a half-step forward due to community feedback and then two steps back because they want the game to be “hard.” If the community unites behind “the vision sucks” there might be a chance to avoid this, but only if we’re clear.
pacman9669: The character builds should be more viable for fun fast paced game play and being able to feel strong
roundishcap: feedback doesn't need to be objective, subjective vibes are sometimes more valuable because it is hard to pinpoint what exactly makes something feel off. Like Warrior nodes and clusters feel off. Even if they didn't have downsides, they just feel wrong.
interift: I feel this take as a long time player. The power fantasy does not feel present in this patch.
slouch186: to quantify the "vibes" of parry feeling bad in some way - you can think of parry as a sort of less attack speed multiplier that is inconsistently dependent on being attacked by an enemy. while it's technically the case that you can use your offensive skills without parrying and disengaging, when your skills are balanced around a potential 50% more damage taken debuff on the enemies and having frenzy charges to unlock another 100% or more of your skill's effective damage, using that skill without the necessary combo pieces already in place is decidedly not what the player wants to be doing. you CAN press the button, but the skill that comes out is not the skill you want to be using. not having access to your own abilities is never a good situation to be in. it's why so many people are trying to figure out any way that they can to get around parry and automate frenzy charges. even if that means doing substantially less damage than you theoretically could be doing otherwise.
the same thing is true for something like twister. theoretically, the idea of an attack based spark skill is awesome. balancing that skill around having used a separate skill at least three times in a row first is effectively like a 300% less attack speed multiplier. add in a skill to apply a ground effect and you've got more less attack speed. you have to press buttons you dont want to in order to press the button you do want to. i think in any game, no matter the genre, making players press buttons they don't want to is a sure fire way to make sure they aren't having fun.

AtomASMRGaming: Finally someone that recognizes one of the true problems in poe2. I've been saying that player action and movement speed was way too slow from the beginning. Give us speed ffs, nobody wants to move with the speed of the turtle, while monsters are fucking cheetahs.
