PsycoMouse: The lightning issue exists primarily because shock is just way to good for scaling and exists on these skills easily. I dont know how to fix it i only notice things that are out of whack.
blazeku: I hope lightning stays meta cause in POE2 only this elemental damage does not make mid-tier PCs burn. Particles from shattered enemies are frying video cards, and not even start me on fire.
Tibasu: The patch is so close I'm not confident we'll see any changes to lightning specifically, but I do wish they just removed lucky damage so that variance in lightning is actually felt.
MannersPlease: The inconsistency argument is totally bogus even without lucky hit. The fact is, there's so many monsters and so much attack speed and cast speed in so many ways, no matter what you're doing to get multiple hits quickly in succession that you are going to be getting a reasonable, average damage across all your hits in literal seconds. It just does not matter in a game that is as fast-paced as Poe is. It's a technicality that justifies an imbalance when the technically doesn't have an actual meeting in the context of current gameplay. Means the imbalance is not justified in current gameplay too. Even without lucky hit.

pictureperfect7547: No matter what road you take it will bring you to the same place if there is only one road all buff the other skills and that might be better
AlwaysBeQuestioning: Make the other elements more interesting. Make fire element ignite enemies and ignited enemies spread fire to other enemies or leave pools of lava on the ground behind there trail that damages other enemies. Make cold damage build up to freeze and shatter enemies that explode for more damage to enemies around them that applies brittle. Brittle can then make enemies shatter when they are killed and take increased crit damage and have increased chance to take crit damage. Lightning damage and shock are not the cause, they are a symptom. Entice people to move away from lightning by making the other elements more interesting, don’t nerf lightning to the ground.

theStamax: As a poe ignite enjoyer i can't express how much i hate what poe 2 did to the ailment. Poe 1 always did this best amongst arpgs with ignite scaling very differently from hit based instead of just being a tacked on afterthought.
Poe 2 then comes along and copy pastes how freeze and shock work and makes it entirely hit based. So now you're building it like any hit based fire skill. Absolutely terrible and incredibly boring. Basically killed the archetype (or rather it never really existed in poe 2). Don't even get me started on how terrible the prolif is compared to poison. Poison and bleed somehow working like they should btw.
And you might say ignite is then useless for hit based fire. You are correct. This is actually a problem in poe 1 too. But that's solveable by making scorch an easily accessible ailment to swap to (smth they should frankly do as a mastery in poe 1)
I'm not even sure i like how freeze and shock work. They are just too easy to apply to everything including endgame bosses.
Rakschas666: Well to cap Deflection you really need it to be on the full set of gear, that is on all armour pieces, and invest in several of its clusters on the tree. Even Connors mirror tier LA build showcased here isnt capped on Deflection. Which is fine in that particular instance, but only as long as the build has various other layers of avoidance layered over non-rng based mitigation.
