mrball5766: I was 13 years old, and i was hanging out with my best friend at his house on a Saturday, and him and his brother had a members account (i had only played f2p). We spent all day taking turns on his account playing castle wars, later on that day when my dad came to collect me, i begged him to make me a member, and later on that evening, he made me a member for the first time, i was so happy. I am 32 years old now, so it was almost 20 years ago! And i kid you not! He is still my best friend to this day, and he started a fresh level 3 account on saturday just gone. This is the first time he has come back to rs (osrs) since the pre Eoc release.

panthersed1140: In middle school, 5 of us shared one RuneScape account named Deatheagle5. We thought we were so cool... Well, we played for hours, always arguing over whose turn it was. Then one of our closest friends got sick cough... cancer... cough...and passed away suddenly. Shortly after he passed we finally beat Dragon Slayer, something we’d been always trying to accomplish. It felt like we did it for him and we honestly cried when it happened. Later, one of the guys ran bots and the account got it banned..... Never share an account right? If only we read the runescape rules ... RIP Deatheagle5 as he lives on in our memories and so does our friend.

brettmcclendon320: I can remember being a kid and going to Walmart and asking my mom to buy a RuneScape membership card for me. What I wanted to do was to get a skill cape because I thought they were so cool. So first thing I did when I got membership was grind 99 cooking. After that I began killing green dragons for money which led to an obsession in PVM.

My grandfather made me a member for 1 month and I got a rune 2h sword and thought I could take on the world, went to the wilderness and died instantly. I cried and my mom got me one extra month

ausar4708: I was 9, 20 years ago, when my friend introduced me to RuneScape. I played for a year or so after, constantly going to the library because we couldn’t afford a computer or internet. After losing multiple accounts due to my young naive brain, I finally grew enough of a trust issue to keep and then build an account to combat 83. I went up to my dad in the garage and shyly asked him if I could have $10 to mail in for membership, and after thinking about it he gave me it. I remember him only having $13 and I didn’t think much about it, but looking back that was his last $13 for the week and he gave me $10 of it. After mailing it in with the membership slip, I finally had membership! And I was so excited and overwhelmed that I bank stood and ran around the new map not doing a damn thing for like 2 weeks of it

Glenn-wr6tt: Back in like 2005, my parents didn't trust runescape enough to let me use their card for membership, but luckily this guy I knew at my school found a credit card and was hooking us all up with membership until he got a slap on the wrist by the cops a couple weeks later lol.

overpleb: When I was 8 I finally convinced my parents to buy me membership after I grinded to get corrupted dragon armor in F2P and didn’t have anything else to go towards. When I finally got membership, I remember making a first ever excursion into the wilderness, never before done. What I was greeted by was a horrifying monster that chased all the way from level 20 to the ditch. I logged off and for the next week was too afraid of logging back in, I thought I was waiting for me. I would understand now that what I encountered was a revenant pyrefiend during the time revenants wandered the wilderness. Pretty dope.

He was always on his computer, playing any game he could get his hands on. This weekend, he showed me "RuneScape" and I was like, whats that? He showed me and the rest is history. I immediately went home and made my own account. I would buy membership cards at 7-eleven for membership. It was the golden days!

ColinLeman: I cant believe you unlocked a memory of getting my year 5/6 injections and i screamed so much that the syringe ended up getting put in the bin and then as Mum started driving home and was yelling at me saying that I'm not allowed to play Runescape so we drove back and I ended up getting it, I didn't even know that it had been done

bartkrabbe: When we were younger (around 8 and 12) we both played runescape, my little brother grinded chocolate with a knife for hours for money, just when he had enough money for full zammy armour, he then got lured, lost his just gotten zammy and cried IRL, I then grinded my ass of trying to make back his lost zammy armour just so he wouldn’t quit and lose our time playing runescape together.

Jomonji: The memory that stuck with me immediately after getting membership for the first time wasn’t crossing the gate into taverly but rather making over white wolf mountain and being greeted with sounds of ocean and relaxing music in catherby. I stayed there fishing for hours because it felt like was really sitting in a tropical paradise. Catherby is still the most nostalgic location for me.

6327499: i was 9 years old downtown in my city watching fireworks with my grandparents. membership was probably $7 back then and i was beeeegging my grandma to get me membership. she said i had to ask my grandpa and he jokingly paused before saying i could get it. rip grandpa. rsn Novastic

My first time getting members, I picked couch change for a few weeks and send physical dollars from Canada to the UK to buy membership. Took about 2 or 3 weeks for it to finally hit my account... but that moment was so magical.... FINALLY I WAS A MEMBER!
