Shopping Cartrobertmahiques6218: Didn't they just increase prices like last year? And they still don't let you play multiple characters on one account? Very frustrating.
ovs4744: I love the logic of more active players = higher membership prices
I_Binds_I: They need to make membership per account like how wow has for 1 account. Wow is 14.99 monthly but all those characters get the benefit of the subscription
XAn0nymousX0: Runescape now costs the same as Wow. crazy times we're living in.
DylanKJohnson: Just cancelled 2 of my memberships. It was a massive PITA to do so too because the website kept crashing...
vorago4855: nothing says we hate new players quite like shoving your hands deeper into their wallets
bddb1132: we 100% should riot in falador this is our game!
ChillFrogTV: at this rate it's going to be $30/month in a few years
alejandro4622: Dam i knew prices were going up just because of rs3
Zentofu1: Gonna cancel membership until they allow a certain amount of characters on one account, cuz hell nawh
george-stefanleoca1319: How is a week of membership 10 dollores and a month 15?
KGhaleon: My first year of playing this game I paid $80 USD for my first year, which became $100 for my second year. Looks like it'll be $131 if I keep playing a third year.
hannarquista: Bro, this increased Brazilian yearly membership by more than 100%, that's crazy...
I don't even know what to say, that doesn't make any sense, get fucked Jagex
ChillFrogTV: WoW and runescape are now the same price
TreyMaleke: so i shouldnt come back to play?
Engin-Ear: Ever since they ran that poll Awhile ago, I knew this was coming. 15 bucks isn't the worst thing im the world, anymore though I don't think I could justify paying for.
UsedTomaato: I get not wanting to pay more, but seeing as how this is literally the only game I play these days, besides strategy games that I already own, the yearly subscription really isnt bad. Also, im sure changing tax legislation and general economic instability makes things difficult on all fronts
HockeyTruther: Just sink rs3 and fire half the cringe ass staff
daniel69: People spend literally 75% of their waking lives on this game and have no purpose beyond it yet can't seem to handle having to pay a few extra bucks a month to continue with it
asdzhmm4137: 6:58 No, they didn't get rid of microtransactions on RS3.
The pay-to-win gambling wheel is gone, but both Runecoins and bonds stay in RS3.
Also no, microtransactions isn't their biggest way of generating revenue.
According to their most recent full accounts report they made less than 16% of their total revenue from microtransactions. This includes bonds from both games.
The vast majority of their revenue (almost 80%) comes from membership subscriptions.
runslinganOG: If you play more then 10 hours a month and enjoy your time its worth it
JoeShmoe102: Tuna
I think my biggest issue with this is that there already was a price hike in recent memory. If they waited another year or two, I could maybe understand. I also can't fathom why in the world they wouldn't include 12-month subscriptions into the Grandfather system.
willblizard3610: What a slap in the fucking face. I cut half my subs last time they increased the price and this time I'll be down to one until they deliver the promise to combine memberships into one cost. I'm not going to be passively coherced into either paying $60 a month or $400 or more a year.
They spent more time coddling grandfather subs than doing anything of value here
ethan13123: i swear they made this blog post confusing on purpose. they said a lot of nothing it feels like. all they had to say was the membership is going up per month and for 12 months but they added a lot of nonsense in the blogpost to confuse people lol
Ragnar0321: This is such bullshit thx god i paid $75 for a full year on a 3rd party website. Jagex is just being greedy af at this point.
NewTypeOfHybrid: Is it fair to assume OSRS is subsidizing RS since they removed treasure hunter?
Votexforxme: This is the price history of bonds for real money:
2013: $5.99 (For 28 days: $11.98)
2015: $6.99 (For 28 days: $13.98)
2018: $7.99 (For 28 days: $15.98)
2024: $8.99 (For 28 days: $17.98)
2025: $8.99 (For 28 days: $17.98)
------------------------------------------------------
New:
2026: $9.99 (For 28 days: $18.99)
Those are the prices if you just want to play for a month and dont wanna spend the extra money for the 3-bond pack.
as you can see its rises each year by 1 dollar. for no real reason. nowdays. and keep in mind 1 bond is only 14days so thats 19$ for 28days of playtime. and yet you guys wait for a real support and account recovery system, instead you get pronoun.
