Massive Sailing QoL Changes! OSRS

ryokuhasu9699: UIMs could only hold 6 to 10 things total in the cargo hold. When the top courier tasks have 9 crates it's overly restrictive.

Harrison_Rs: I normal give Jagex alot of bad press with corrupt mods and terrible customer support but this sailing skill is 10/10 - They put a lot of work into this clearly and I cant praise them enough.

I was very worried as I have two maxed account but sailing is a skill I honestly don't mind grinding out. This launch could of gone really bad, yes it had the odd bug as expected but a great launch all round.

BillyBonez93: The uim cargo restriction was 4 slots for the first cargo hold, and went up 1 (yes 1) per upgrade maxing out at 9 or spots with the end upgrade. Rather than 30-150.

Almost unplayable, not fair. Said they won’t fix it this week. 4 cargo slots is ridiculous. You can’t even hold all of the cargo deliveries in it. It’s like If we only could hold 2 planks in the plank sack. It’s integral to anything besides barracuda trials they need to fix it.

KushiKush: i lost 4k steel cannon balls because i logged out mid sail and teleported backto the last dock, and my ship was labled lost...

noobke8744: as a UIM we were only able to get a max of 10 cargo spots which is incredibly low, yess we did choose to play UIM and have no bank but cargo isnt a bank,, its not like we can put any item in there so i think they should change the cargo hold to 28 spots with the max cargo

Dyna1One: Not me watching the video doing mercenary shipwrecks at like 90k/h abusing the hell out of the extractor before it gets nerfed completely (You just can't do it near chests, still able to do it anywhere else)

Camera bug when boarding my ship

Cannons (combat in general) feels like hitting them with a wet napkin

DC-ing sank my raft and sent me to the wrong port

Being unable to steer my ship by flicking the water. I had to use my minimap. This was on mobile mostly but happened periodically in RL.

Justin-ym4pm: UIM max out at 10 cargo spots. It's not "lmao you chose it", it outright breaks large parts of the skill like making crewmates and sloop useless

hastingsgames: Pro tip: World hopping is so canon, but u can own 2 or more salvage spots without any xp loss, and no hopping.

If a NPC is on helm, you can maneuver the boat without leaving your station. More importantly, you can adjust speed and forward/reverse without interrupting your action at all. So you can be sorting while your boat is moving back or forth to a different spot. Get the hang of it and you won't need to hop anymore, so you won't keep needing to re-engage your NPCs in any case.

JayRobCreates: Have ya’ll really been roughing it on the bounty tasks and not even using a cannon lol!? In the early game you want to shoot the cannon yourself until you can get the port khazard guy and Aga chick from Morytania on your crew. Using the cannon is the only way to get decent DPS before getting those 2 crewmates. Because every normal weapon only hits for like 1/6th of the damage you’d normally hit. So cannon is a must unless you want it to take 2-3 times as long just shooting it with a Bowfa LOL. So until you get those two on your crew, fire one cannon yourself. Then afterwards, it’s time to gear up. YOU need to wear the best range gear you have and bring range pots because YES it does matter/count towards your stats for DPS. But then you can load the cargo hold up with cannonballs and assign the NPCS to fire the cannons while you add even more DPS with Bowfa, blowpipe, magic, etc. Then it basically feels like normal kill times but the cannons on your ship are doing 2/3rd’s of the damage.

Jack958: They should make the anchor have a use / make it a “core part” like the brazier instead of an interact able facility / misclick factory. Basically you build it and then you can stop on a dime rather than clicking unset sail you click an anchor icon

KEKW-lc4xi: how about you can only do damage by using the cannons. what is this cheesy people bringing their shadows and blowpipes etc to sailing? I would rather be forced to build a cannon to do damage. I haven't done any sailing combat yet though as cba to make cannonballs given the xp and rewards from such tasks thus far. Just hit level 70, yup, gotta work as well T.T

gunnarjohansen6669: Redact the crystal extractor change for the trials, feel awfull to stop infrint of the end because its ready in a couple seconds roght before the end…..

VBM1: Crystal extractor needs to be useable from anywhere on the boat.
