Big early edit: the best way to play this game is however you want. Don't obsess over following someone else's ideal/optimised path; follow your own fun!

I also played back when this was the only version of thr game, and it roped me back in about a year ago; I went the 'member' route both times though.

Whilst I usually wait the whole video to correct stuff (because often people correct themselves), this is a bit long for that (so it'll be edits). But the GE/HA/LA theory is entirely correct, and I can't talk about any Ironman stuff, because I'm not running that mode (it's just not what I personally want out of any game; good that it's an option for people that do though).

I think most quests that have a material hand-in have some kind of tongue-in-cheek alternate dialogue if you show up with the correct items first time....

Smithing is faster as a Member.

Read out every named White Knight's name; this requires a British accent, but is slightly funny....

'Punter' as far as I'm aware does not exist as a word outside England, maybe Wales too, let alone outside the British Isles....

So, having done a lot of the members quests since my return, there is still a lot of running around talking to NPCs, but it's far less of it being back-&-forth with the NPCs; it's like a circuit of 4 usually. And I think that back-&-forth is so common in F2P because of just how little of the game that actually is; they only have a few NPCs for each quest, and not many places to send you.

That bull at the end has actual mechanics because it's very new, and it was added to teach/tease new and F2P players that there are raid-style bosses with mechanics in the game. Elvarg is ported over from the original version, and all of the bosses with mechanics are newer (and members only).
