Ayunnuya: I love your content! You provide such a digestible, innovative look at new additions to OSRS. Keep up the great work!
Silvuhh: Sick and in depth video as usual! I thought 45ish in a duo was like meh but still decent, but the way you broke it down really makes a huge difference. I love how you tied everything together and similarly how Jagex did as well. Being a "seasoned vet" as you said feels rewarding having rada's 4 and flakes in the bank already. Aswell as the Tempeross breakdown on how it's really just a few hours to have enough flakes to basically last the entire Yama grind. Legit the exact stuff I've been wondering about, thanks dude!
dinjinn: Bossing should not give you massive amount of supplies, like 300 shark drops, that devalues skilling. Instead, an item like diabolical worms incentivizes and rewards fishing. W
Daxxen.: I love these synopsis for the new items, its refreshing seeing these takes.
As I mostly play ironman while my main duo for yama doesn't like the worms drop, I personally love the drop as it gives me a reason to go and fish anglers and like you said, its a nice down time as not only is it great food per hour, I also get tons of clues while fishing these guys up (which helps me get to my goal of the 600 beginner clues for the emote)
great vid as always keep it up!
6pcDumplingsTTV: great video, tested this out while using my diabolic worms the other day with flakes and i gotta say, i was definitely sleeping on the power of spirit flakes!
1337Donahue: You've changed my mind on the drop. Great breakdown. Super underrated creator!
ArcheressAva: Great points, I'll look forward to getting these as drops now. I'm interested to see what other similar ideas Jagex might try in the future.
mattclauss: Great video, Trav! Can't wait to try these out myself. Love the production on this one with the side-by-sides and the b-roll btw! Keep it up.
RelaxAndTroll: Dude your channel is great. Always a good attitude and interesting takes, along with in depth analysis. Keep it up!
mrcool76789: your content is on the rise my guy, found you on some random ass guide now you're my go to for updates
FuzzyPurp: Great vid
Loganberry: Just discovered your channel but so glad I did! Great deep dive
armadylx: We need a more conservative movement in the game based on incremental changes if possible or marginal stuff like this, skilling resources rather than the immediately consumable item, or tweaking just a few features in minigames to make an impact, or rollbacks. QOL has completely taken over the game. Players are spoiled as hell.
u1abme: Love the content. Diabolic worms are a great addition imo.
Do you know how the increased rate affects pet drop chances? I imagine pet rates would also be increased with the use of dworms.
James-vc1kc: I haven't played in almost two years but I'd say the reason stone spirits failed in rs3 isn't just because there were so many different variations, but really because bosses drop way too many for how long it takes to even mine the ores. In addition, the mining and smithing rework were just handled horribly. It's very balanced for ironmen but it's borderline dead content to interact with stone spirits as a main account if you're already over 89. The last time that I played, 4 ticking the rocks at full efficiency wasn't even half the possible xp rate of the highest method, which was 5 mins of afk per click.
And then even with smithing requiring the consumption of these ores, the ores are just supplied by bots at this rate, which I think is the only thing keeping the prices reasonable.
Sithis_Rants: Stone (and more recently, wood) spirits were and are a disaster for the RS3 economy. I understand that skillers are generally shafted by skilling-related PvM loot, but these changes were never good for PvMers due to how recklessly they were implemented. Ores were removed from all PvM drop tables on the same date that the skilling nodes for previously high-level ores like runite (expected to forever be about 11-12k each due to alch price) changed from very slowly replenishing level 85 rocks to infinite-yield level 50 rocks. In doing this, the change guaranteed a massive, permanent drop in the value of runite ores, which were replaced not with many runite stone spirits, but with a 1:1 replacement of an incomplete version of a now much more common, significantly lower-level ore. To use an example, one of Nex's best common drops before the update was 80 runite ore, worth about 96k in OSRS GP. This was changed to 80 runite stone spirits at first, which is worth about 15k in OSRS GP, and amended several times to give different variations of stone spirits, eventually settling for 20 each of some higher-level stone spirits, which are worth approximately 1000 OSRS GP, a 99% loss in the value of that drop. In more recent years, logs have been replaced with "wood spirits" and herbs have been replaced with herb seeds. This has resulted in a PvM economy that is heavily reliant on unique drops and alchable "salvage", further inflating the already severely undervalued currency, all with the supposed goal in mind of making skilling more profitable.
The problem is that in order for bosses to be considered worth killing by most people, they need to have decent common loot, and doing this is guaranteed to deflate the value of skilling supplies added to loot tables long-term. You can fix the problem for skillers, but you cannot successfully make both skilling and PvM profitable when their loot tables serve the same purpose. No one will be killing Yama with the hopes of receiving diabolic worms except a very select few ironman accounts, who can by definition only detract from capital velocity to begin with.
OSRS is in a much better place because unique loot is highly sought-after, but eventually, they will run out of niches to fill and be forced to release PvM gear that is simply more powerful than what exists within the same niche. For example, like how Torva is objectively better than Bandos. When this happens, PvMers on OSRS will place higher value on the common loot items that may be getting replaced by drops like these, and opt instead to farm bosses with bountiful quantities of skilling loot, eventually lowering demand for those items in doing so. This will also increase the incentive for players to farm older bosses to death rather than to approach the newer bosses with meager commons, until those bosses as well are no longer profitable to kill. Additionally, items like diabilic worms, with very specific niche uses, are fine in moderation, but if there are eventually many different items like this, the game may encounter an "efficiency fatigue" like RS3 where there are so many small buffs to keep track of that it isn't even widely considered worth while to account for all of them.
For this reason, I hope items like this remain only as occasional band-aids and do not become a mainstay of PvM drop tables throughout the game. It's not that there's anything wrong with the philosophy underlying this item specifically, but more that it seems like a possible warning sign of the future state of OSRS PvM. What would worry me more is not items like this being added to new drop tables, but a possible scenario where they eventually need to start replacing established loot from existing bosses, so please don't take this as me trying to sew panic.
Forged4War206: Nah just give me my fucking Anglers Jagex. Game mentality has shifted and most people just hate skilling now (which is fair because it's boring as fuck) nor do they have the time to waste anymore unless you're a NEET or a content creator.
VegaMK2: Love seeing videos like these - these might be the smartest addition in recent memory from Jagex, the way it ties everything together is beautiful.
silly69: Excellent point! Awesome job yet again Travag! keep up the awesome work.
zb9458: First time seeing your channel, and just wanted to say this is such a great video! Love the depth and discussion about balancing the game!
Smarrels: Love your videos man keep it up

meisrs: hi, i love really all of your content, you deserve soooo many more subs/views
i have a question about the Heron pet, will diabolical worms decrease the time it takes to get?
ArielAizen: Your channel is great!
