1. Sailing vibes are lower than they need to be, given how good launch went, from those bizarre salvaging changes. If jagex doesn’t look at how they arrived at those changes, we’re in for a bad ride.
2. Sailing feels like I’ve gotta max it to be rewarded later because it’s jagex shiny new toy.

GenesisBrady: #1 QoL I want is being able to relocate or disassemble ship facilities. There's no way I want to ever have to grind 1/20k dragon cannon drops and such again.
Tie in other skills via "world trade", where you can take things like herb or seed packs to other locations for a less time gated farming and herblore skilling method.
HavocParadox: Trawling and Ship combat are by far the worst aspects of sailing.. Don't get me wrong i like Trawling mechanically. I think the xp is god awful and the rate to get fish is good. The Only thing mechanically id change with trawling is making it so the spots last about twice as long before moving.. they just move a bit faster than i thought they would.

Keep cannon balls rare, but make them more accurate and hit hard. Would probably become a "buyable" method but expensive.
Add an alternative use for the heavy ballista (add a mount drop to the game for the boat), use javelins as a more cost effective method. Give these things a use. Have sailing unlock methods to finally enchant these things.
Have sea NPCs unlock a consumable needed to enchant javelins.
Allow crew members to use new versions of blow pipes for extra DPS.
Not a thorough idea but definitely think it's worth talking about.
WhatsBellow: Did the whole 99 sailing afk salvaging. I literally didnt do any other content and I'm happy i did it that way. Back to raids boys. Sailing is dogwater.
pojomojojojo: To fix sailing combat, I think Jagex just needs to release a warship boat type that can only load weapons, and add a new weapon to the boat.
Put three cannons on each side of the warship, make it high cost to build the boat similar to the Sloop, and then put mounted ballista's on the front and back of the boat. Finally, make sailing monsters have weaknesses to either the cannon or harpoon. Use the harpoons to get small fish/birds, cannons for sharks and kraken.
Then the sloop becomes the designated "resource" boat for salvaging and deep sea fishing.
I think this fixes a ton of problems... helps avoid building duplicate facilities and ships by specializing the sloop and warship, then the warship can be used to make ship combat more enjoyable and effective.

Sailing looks more like its own thing. Other getting my quest and music cape back i haven't thought about touching it because nothing seems worth it to grind. I feel like its going to take a lot more than a raid to make it feel lile its more inclusive with everything else.

It's the expansion of fishing mainly, some sea agility, slayer tasks on the sea and it utilizes construction a bit more....
But hey... there's new xp drops now!

Rubyredacted: I checked out at ship combat in no way should someone with 99 range and mid level gear at worst be hitting 2s with a DCB and diamond bolts, so yeah the lazy route is best, calculate damage at sea based off of one of the appropriate combat levels it's not fkn hard if not buff the cannons and make their mechanic like the dwarven so it's bonuses are calculated off of our gear. Noone needs to act elitist over this either

JDJReaver: No regrets grinding out the 99. It will take them years to make this skill fun and I'm happy to almost never interact with it in the future apart from new content drops while they sort it out.
