PapaLantern: Honestly, I'm a stay at home dad, I homeschool, and I suffer from combat related PTSD. FFXIV is my game because I can get on and do what I want when I want. I don't have a lot of time but there is always something for me for whatever amount of time I have available

spiritmuse: Yes, you got it right. The main thing to remember about FFXIV is that it is a Final Fantasy game first and foremost. Which means story comes first, and story will always be the most important part of the game.

Also, everyone going through the same story means that everyone who reaches the end has all those same experiences in common. And they may like and dislike different things about it, but that massive shared experience ultimately bonds players together in a way that not all MMOs do.
