Shopping Cartacesock-g1b: I'm surprised not to see E4N, Eden's Titan as at least an honorable mention. I often see those fights drag out for a long time because of the knockbacks killing people or the expanding tile aoes catching people off guard somehow...
regalstar: The most terrifying moment I had in a normal raid roulette is when it queued into a 10 minute backfill into A9N
SeshmasterSam: It's amazing that a boss as early as A9N still puts the fear of god into me
My own personal honourable mention would go to E4N's Titan, not usually a wiper but it has plenty of "gotcha" mechanics for new players to die instantly to.
obamaorb7426: I wish we had more normal raids like M7N. Genuinely peak normal content
zippzapp7443: I would give a shoutout to eden's titan since one of those that really mess up first timers
HammerAndSickled: Haven’t watched it yet but for me by FAR the hardest is the Eden bird one with light/dark. Holy hell I don’t think I’ve ever got through that unscathed
niklakic97: Great video! Now make one for Alliance Raid encounters and watch half of them be from Stormblood.
blazemage84: E12n. If you haven't done or thought about the eden raids in a while, it can make for a nasty "pop quiz" in terms of what aoe shape goes with which primal.
SilveredSilhouettes: The longer the video went on the more sure I was of what #1 would be. Spent like 25 minutes in there the other night. The positioning, the “drop everything and deal with robots” timing, and refurbisher’s hard hits and cleave make this one a mess if less than 4 people know precisely what’s happening. One of my FC-mates says that’s the only duty he’ll instantly leave and take the 30 minute penalty for, as it just makes him see red no matter what.
I’d throw an honorable mention to Chaos in the omega raids, just for being the fist place a lot of people see multiple stack markers kill you, if someone with the marker doesn’t know, you’re probably gonna lose at least 5 people in the scramble to reposition. It’s an easy fix to just say in chat after the wipe, but boy that one wipe is practically guaranteed.
PyroCeras: My cheat for larboard/starboard: larboard begins with l, so it's left
Starboard doesn't begin with l, so it's right
farlado5459: E4 and E5 not getting mentioned feels wrong
darkmindaustin: Like a few others, I think E4N, Eden's Mario Kart, shoulda been a mention of some kind. Along with E12N, Pinecone lady. For Titan, it is not just Mario Kart, but also the generic knock backs and bombs. For Pinecone, it is her Memory Mechanics, which still get me even when I did it regularly. Eden's Pupper definitely has been power crept though, so may soon be able to be put off the list as a whole, even if it as a savage was my static's bane for the longest time.
hucklebrains593: I'm really surprised that E6N (Eden's Verse: Furor) isn't mentioned. The enum stacks and the shareable red tethers always confuse the sprouts :P
John_Wario: I'm glad E7 was mentioned because for some reason I always struggle with that one at least a little. Light and dark birds especially, I feel like I always either have to focus entirely on the mechanic and lose uptime or try to keep uptime and take a hit. The only Eden raid I absolutely hate getting in roulettes.
Anyway A2N is clearly the hardest normal raid...hardest to enjoy that is :p
snafuPop: The O11 Starboard/Larboard incident was really funny in retrospect since the names used for those in Japanese, while still roughly called Starboard/Larbord cannon, include the kanji for left/right (右舷 and 左舷; 右 and 左) so it's perfectly understandable without the nautical context
K3fka_: On E7N, I definitely see people struggle with the portals all the time, but I have also
yukariiiin: I've paused the video to list mine and see if it arrives here. In no particular order:
-That Dark/Light Eden normal raid
-Honey Bee (wonky heart hitboxes, that bullet hell part)
-That one Alexander raid that needs you to destroy a mech else you wipe
-Starboard/Larboard
-P11 (I was running this one day and a first-timer WHM sat on the tower with his color and died. He did it again for the second wave and I rescued him out of it and into his correct position. I got commended four times for that run)
-Tyrant (for a first timer, if you just were not aware he's picking up one of the arenas
SuzakuBlitz: I know this video was not meant to be one of your Mentor videos, but I somehow miss hearing the splat SFXs of players being defeated over the course of the video, lol
I don't have any honourable mention off the top of my head personally, but listening to your #1 gave me flashbacks of an OT deciding the provoke the add randomly and drag it straight into the nono zone, causing an instant wipe. Then they cursed at everyone and left. Such a strange experience.
SomeRandomPersonIGuess: M8N is the only time I was in a party that decided to vote abandon a fight, so for me that one is at the top.
A honorable mention should go out to A5N, you always have at least one person who doesn't know about bird transformation and even now it's still a 50-50 if people do bombs correctly
PhantomSnivy: I’d like to give a personal shoutout to E12 as the only normal duty I’ve ever been in to be successfully vote abandoned because both healers kept dying to the titan phase bomb rocks after the intermission we had no other rezzers to pick them up. Took around 40 minutes before the party gave up
cruye9633: M8N was so fun before 7.4, the damage felt like it actually mattered and healers had to try
it was like a neat midpoint between normal and extreme
TeleportOut: I tried to do a list before watching the video just to see if our experiences would match up. I tried to base mine on my first experience (which was hazy on some) plus if I’ve wiped/zombied through multiple times. Funny enough our 1st and 2nd places were flipped. I’ve been apart of vote abandon and fills on M8 multiple times. I’m shocked P3 or A5 didn’t show up on this list. I’ve wiped to A5 close to the top spots, and I audibly oh no when I get it in roulette. Alright, it could be just me being unlucky but I’ve seen Phoinix obliterate parties- especially when it was current. M2 and O12 made my list as well.
lucalopez9604: another honorable mention should go to A5. powercreep has made it so is not as deadly but the wacky mechs will still catch people.
red5robb1: i know its not a raid, but i just did lakshmi the other day for the first time. i havent died so much in a normal duty....ever....except maybe dun scaiths first boss
i seen the duty action button you need to push but didnt know when to push it at all. i seen others 'grab' orbs so i thought i had to grab them as well but nothing was happening.
someone stayed after the fight and explained it to me which i was thankful for.
normally i can understand basic mechanics fairly quickly, but that duty action threw me off
Toric00: Sprout opinion here: Refurbisher was the first raid that I, as a tank, felt too unskilled to beat. Other first-time raids as a tank could have "why did I die" moments, but Refurbisher was the first that - even once I was armed with the mechanics knowledge - I couldn't tank hard enough to beat. That was a sad, sad abandon.
