Things Id Like to See Updated in FFXIV

Crovius: My biggest wish is a better glam system. Throw out the dresser and add a catalog UI like WoW. If you get the item, it's auto added to your catalog, no more holding onto the items themselves in order to use them and always needing to go to the Inn to use your dresser.

BabyShenanigans: Every time one of these types of videos gets posted, I like to give my opinion of something that needs to be overhauled: CHOCOBO COMPANION SYSTEM. The chocobo is the staple of the Final Fantasy universe. When the FFXIV 1.0 trailer was initially aired at some convention, can't remember which one sorry, when the chocobo companion was shown at the end, people SCREAMED. They were SO EXCITED about it, and I feel like we need to do that justice. Make the chocobo companion an overworld Trust companion. Make its response time for heals faster, give it more powerful attacks, make it a more solid tank. Beef it up. Give it new abilities, including the ability to get out of AOEs or get behind the target if it's healing/dpsing. Give us something like an armory system so we can save barding combinations. Give us the option to search bardings, or a better way to find out if you have one other than scrolling scrolling scrolling. Give us a damn paper doll for the thing so we can see bardings on it without having to summon it. It's the year of our lord 2025 and we still don't have a real-time animated paper doll for the chocobo companion. It's been completely abandoned, but it's one of the absolute most useful leveling tools for overworld grinding.

carwash6510: I like this video because it isn’t just rage bait in regard to the game, it’s just constructive criticism and suggestions. Keep up the good work.

Maria_Erias: On the subject of Grand Companies: expand the available Squadron system to let us use our GC Squadrons in place of Duty Support in order to do MSQ dungeons!

EvanAdvent: I think adding more rogue-ish elements to Deep Dungeon could be a fun twist. Finding a Stat Passive that gives you 20% Max HP for the run or a Lost Action that gives you 20 casts of a Sleep spell could provide a wide variety of ways to make the content more engaging.

Brahmsonite: I'd like more cool

MarcusMaybenot: I appreciate you talk about this without the needless and excessive doomposting and reactionary hyperbole. It's so god damned exhausting reading about this game online because people always have to act as if something is either the best thing ever created or the worst thing in the history of mankind and there's like nothing inbetween...

SomeRandomPersonIGuess: something I want to see are max level variants of old dungeons. You could make them behave like unreal trials and cycle through them, maybe only two or three old dungeons per patch. This way you'd have a wider range of dungeons for roulette, making especially expert roulette more enjoyable. It would also be more realistic and easy to release a dungeon again but with higher stat enemies than to create a full new hard version of existing dungeons, so the devs could create more of them.

tyler5013: I think the biggest thing would be cross DC que system. A new player could easily get stuck with infinite que times for msq dungeons if the pick the "wrong" DC. A new player may not even know they can travel to other DC. Aether is often closed to travel as it is constantly full from every going there for party finder.

On a more niche note I think it would be nice if we could take our squadrons into duty support. They are all trained up and glammed just sitting there.

Arupaca128: Give us something like a small balcony on apartments that can fit gardening plots and a training dummy.

DissidiaStillWater: imagine if all locations had "harder fates" like critical engagments. not saying that u need to register for one, but just over all higher difficulty with higher rewards.

wackyzap1304: GIVE ME A FOOKIN' RIVAL WINGS ROULETTE.

Lyachos: Regarding Open world content, just one look at WoW is enough to see that Final Fantasy doesn't even have an open world gameplay anymore. It's more of a story asset now. WoW has minigames, puzzles, treasures, rare mobs that actually drop gear/toys/pets. World Quests and big zone events, etc.

GarnetDust24: I hope they prioritize making the overworld feel more alive outside of discord spaces. It’s so much fun seeing people running around doing stuff in occult crescent and cosmic exploration but this content is usually locked behind instance play. I want to see people showing off their glams, weapons and mounts outside of limsa and hunt trains.

B_MoreJ: For a game that has over 30 maps you can load into, the majority usually are in Limsa. Open world is on life support

shadowrigg: I had never really considered Palace of the Dead inaccessible, but the more I thought about it I realized it really does have a bit of a wall. I had done it initially with my FC. If someone doesn't have that built-in group for odd content, it can be a real pain in the rear. A duty-support for 1-50 isn't that crazy of an idea if they won't add a roulette of some kind.

elukyr: A suggestion I have for Fates is that they should also explore making Fates for Crafters and Gatherers. Granted, they may need to update the Sneak skills and introduce some for Crafters as well, but I feel like it is a missed opportunity. Here are some examples I can think of:

>A mountain side is having a bunch of issued due to tree overgrowth. Have miners deal with controlling the landslides caused by the roots near cliffsides, while botanists deal with cutting apart trees that have fallen or are on the verge of falling.

>Specifically for war torn areas like Stormblood, imagine an Ala Mhigan scouting group had a failed mission and just barely got out of it alive. All of their gear and equipment is destroyed, and they are running low on rations on the way back to Rhalgr's Reach. Crafters can fix up their gear, fishers and botanists can gather food or medicine related items and turn them in to the group's chirurgeon, miners can gather minerals that can be used to help repair the equipment of the group.

>A research group in in Labyrinthos wants to explore the more natural elements that are appearing because of the creatures in the zone, so gatherers can gather materials from the area while crafters can pick up items off the ground and "experiment" with the materials by crafting new items related to the researcher's field.

Granted the idea for Crafter and Gatherer fates that can be done by all classes is harder to think of than the "kill X amount of enemies" objectives for PVE jobs, but I don't think it's impossible either. Besides there are already fates that are just "pick up items scattered in an area and turn them in" that could already be converted to those roles.

It's an extra way to get gemstones, a way to mix up the leveling method of crafters and gatherers, a way to add a lot of world building to the game. And if they are crazy enough, they could have Super Fate equivalents for Crafters and Gatherers that are tantamount to something like Ishgard Restoration.

GanonAutumn777: I want the character creator to be updated. Not graphically or adding a new race but rather give the currently existing playable races more options

The character creator has been outdated for more than a decade and the least they could do is add more body options. Give me the option to be a muscular lalafell like a lot of fantasy dwarfs in other games, a tall option for fem au ra and viceversa for male.... etc. Im not asking for something crazy like a lot of mods out there, I just want more body options I can express my character with without relying on mods for what shouldve been a basic option in the character creator

pklifeupa7064: Being able to send tells while in c/s.

Ecaseo: Variant dungeon roulette is actually a very good idea I could get behind

Vulf_Faolan: Apartment update yes please. My XIV apartment feels like home to me in a way no house ever has, but your options are still severely lacking. Just being able to upgrade it to the same size as the basement of a small house would go so far, or being able to move the location of the door and ceiling light so you can play around with dividing the space up in new and different ways.

seraph_rj5700: From an aesthetic standpoint i’d love the ability to mirror my asymmetrical hair or clothes.

Metis1337: Just use FATEs to create a campaign/conquest type thing, giving us an overworld event system that has FATEs at its core, that affects the world itself, and that gives an option for leveling. Its so sad that they basically gutted FATEs exp because people were babies about dungeon queues

rubefeo: First time I've heard someone important in the FF community mention GW2! Yes! FF could learn a lot from GW2 about its open world and how events progress in a chained manner on a map, the same about its massive PVP, implement a system of "commanders" that guide the rest, PVP mentors!

Chalk0073: On the Bozja Duels point, I'd like to see Duels expaned into a full-blown FFVI style Colosseum. Like a battle themed Gold Saucer. Players would do solo battles against mobs while other players spectate. I think that would be interesting content for solo players and content streamers. And it's something that could be progressively updated for the future.

NyrahlRhys: Free Company crafting. Still gated behind owning an FC house. Adding an option to the Grand Company Barracks door, just like inside an FC house; to use an FC crafting room would rectify this. It would allow any FC access to Airships (lol rip 3.5), Submarines and Aetherial Wheel crafting.
