RayvenNeverland: your honour my clients are just silly little creatures
NightshadeTS: It's not plot armor. It's our beautiful Branch Feo Ul protecting us!!!
recjr7685: This is actually very lore accurate to the fae of folklore
Whenever I see fae in any form of media, I fully expect them to be chaotic neutral tricksters
The only thing I haven't seen these fae do is kidnap small children and leave changelings in their place
madambutterfly1997: I said it before and I'll say it again the only difference between fairies and demons is fairies have more glitter.
HSvideoSims3: Let’s not forget the fact that the A-ranked Mudmen you killed were failed products of pixies turning those leaf men back to human.
deliaseymour5578: “Thick plot armor” and being under contract with their king.
kisaLuver: The thing is that Pixies are children who died to the Flood of Light in their sleep and their Aether, not knowing they were dead and unable to move on properly, became a Pixie. They're eternal children who never learned important moral developmental milestone lessons. Pixies who seem more mature and self-aware, like Feo Ul, were likely older kids who thus had more emotional development.
amitamaru: The only saving grace for the leafmen is that the pixies use this magic to change people who would have become sin eaters, saving them and their world from a worse hell.
warllockmasterasd9142: No what protected us was the Fae that became the King.
Applejax-hw3mr: Plot Armor is the simplistic term, if not crude. Not untrue, but it’d be kinda wack if the story just ended by a Fae’s random trick due to lack of preparation. Plot Armor is basically “The main characters avoids danger just cause. No preparation or valid reasoning behind it.”
Honestly, it would be wack on Urianger’s part to not give the rest of the Scions and eventually the WoL the information to protect themselves against the Fae. Considering he has a base there.
“Plot Armor” can be taken the wrong way in undermining the in game character preparations and references taken to prevent plot holes. The Crystal Exarch and Urianger making ways to protect the scions against the Fae’s tricks, and Feo Ul taking up the King of Fae mantel was set up.
The BIGGEST example of Plot Armor in Shadowbringers is from Ran’jit. That old guy has no reason to be making it out of half the stuff thrown at him. Dude just brute forces through everything the characters do.
hallowednebulae6949: They're not really *evil*, per se. They're fae, after all. They don't have the same morals as we do, I think.
TheKarishi: I love Love LOVE the fact that Titania's Return - both the previous monarch's release from their prison AND Feo Ul's rallying of the troops - is treated as a scene from a HORROR FILM.
son0fgrim: Just a silly Lil guy...
errantstars8294: To their credit, they’re much kinder and more reasonable than the folklore that they’re based on.
starofaetherius: Im really curious to understand why there seems to be no direct 1:1 faeries in the source. We have scholar pixies but they seem to be the product of a different arcane process, and we have the Sylphs but theyre more like... plant people. So what gives?
davidbell7491: This was a slam dunk for me when I got here in ShB. Fae folk were appropriately disarmingly terrifying.
TheRiolan: Shadowbringers truly is a more sanitized Berserk arc
Kyzoren: Perhaps WoL can change their behavior; if not by us directly, we could get our big-bae Feo Ul to tell the fae to tone it down and not kill people at the very least...
"If you're mean to a human, or especially if you kill em'... YOU'LL TURN INTO A BEVER AND YOU CAN'T CHANGE BACK!!!"
Max44321: Pixies are souls of dead children, children are known to be monsters, it fits...
castlejames4736: I love the Pixies, but you not wrong xD Morals are different, but to those they hurt for sure many people for funsies
ChaosDX1: I consider myself extremely lucky to have gotten out of there alive, more so that the fey think me entertaining enough to let me come and go instead of becoming a permanent resident. I am not going to push it by telling them what they can and can't do.
Kamina20XD6: “Never trust a fae.” is pretty solid advice across all fictional settings.
Prich319: Leafman: "I was once a maaannn...."
existential horror intensifies
boneheaded8919: I'm glad that you mentioned Anden
Boy got lucky with his Pixie that's for sure
YukimuraGozen: Plot armor and being the new king of the fae's favourite pet. Feo Ul says you never call her anymore
brachyzoid: I still want my beloved branch's minion
