xxsonata: you can't heal at all in rathalos' phase 2 outside of the potions. only damage reduction mit will do anything. also yeah, nowdays people eat the stack alone and use the potion to full heal after each hit. he dies fast enough where you'll be fine doing that. you died because you weren't topped off when the stack hit you

ThornedLily: Mentors on YouTube have given me false hope, because every single one of you call yourselves "bad mentors" and then have almost zero trouble even when you force yourself through stream gimmicks (like the wheel) to play jobs you're not super comfy on. Meanwhile, every mentor I see in the wild ends up somehow being the absolute worst player I've ever seen in my life lol. At this point I genuinely decide between leaving the group immediately or bracing myself for the most grueling 45 minutes of my FFXIV career when I see a crown in the group, and sometimes I don't even bother trying and just go play another game for a little while.

I think YoshiP needs to have someone check the code on those crowns, they seem to be a siphon that removes all game knowledge and skill as soon as folks put them on unless they're streaming lol. I'd rather have a full group of sprouts than have even one mentor, or maybe Aether just doesn't have any good ones.

Pyrilium1043: The tank (in Cutter's Cry) was probably a bot. They use early instances to level and you can usually tell because their pathing goes crazy when it has to TP. Also, on Copperbell Mines: if you run all the way to the back wall and extra mob will fall off.
