dukezaphias1730: the only change that melee need is rpr buff changed from 3 to 5%. used to be that rpr was unique in its buff lasting 20s but since they made all buffs 20s they forgot to buff arcane circle to 5%

kevinkeninson2784: I feel that raiding has ruined the balance of FFXIV. Jobs have been balanced for very specific rotations, there is no play styles other than optimal and wrong. The damage requirements in these raids is so tight, that every job has to have the same damage output or else there is no longer a reason to use the weaker ones. And on top of that, the classes get simpler and simpler to use to accommodate having to memorize 30 minute long "fights" that devolve into standing in the perfect spots without a single mistake, while mashing the simplest rotations. And if it isn't all optimal, then it's immediate failure. Every other form of content in this game has suffered from the focusing on these raids. Jobs need to be rethought from the ground up. It reminds me of when EV training got popular in Pokemon. People optimized Pokemon, and it drained the fun out of it. Optimal damage should come through player skill, not your base rotation. And as it stands the skill ceiling for doing optimal damage is low. It's just a matter of doing it. I had fun with 2.0 and HW, but I feel the games priorities are out of whack. The over world needs to be fun again, and not a backdrop for rolling to new story missions. FATES are a solid idea that needed to evolve years ago, and nothing in this game has evolved, only adjusted.
saiseihime: They definitely didn't overbuff BLM, as the cornerstone of triple ranged (and often the hypercarry of said comps) it still needs to be able to justify its spot over

lagua5363: as a BLM main, having a raise makes literally 0 sense, it's a ndps job while rdm is more support oriented, not all casters needs to have the same ability for all to be balanced.

obamaorb7426: Gunbreaker is the hardest tank in the same way that reaper is the hardest melee. In other words, neither are hard, it's just that being forced out of melee range for 1 GCD, especially in burst, feels horrendous solely because of how the gauge generation works

Calling things easy because you have so much frame of reference. This is my first serious MMO outside of new world and paladin does feel pretty complex. I have no idea when I'm supposed to do certain things. They do a poor job teaching players how their rotation interacts together. I love difficulty in games I hate when games hold your hand completely but when you have zero frame of reference a little guidance would be nice.
