At the end of shadowbringers she complained to alphinaud that she felt a “lack of personal development” seeing y’stola, urianger, and thancred getting their new gear from tataru. Alphinaud responded that their time will come, and he of course changed to sage in endwalker.

RaizoPoison: The 1st sound is the sound of the pet or bird been summon, and the second an attack. Thats why they put those sounds in that order.

DrSmirnoff: My current thought, since it's a Physical Ranged and with Beast Master is coming out, is that Falconer "FLC" will just have the 1 bird (maybe small bird focused like a murder of crows kind of thing) and you'll act as more of a support for the bird, using magic to buff/support/direct rather than doing damage yourself. I could see some debuffing like with Hunters Marks and stuff, but if it's Physical, then I'm assuming the bird will be doing the majority of the attacks. BST will do damage along side the pet, while the FLC will sand in the back directing and supporting. I'm also assuming it's going to be a "greedy DPS", since they already have 2 support DPS for the Ranged Physical. They seem to like that balance.

That's a Hawk, not a falcon. Falcons are typically smaller in comparison. A nod to Vedrfolnir in Norse mythology, the hawk that sits between the eyes of the great eagle on top of the world tree. The item that the Miqo is inspecting is a handle, trying to make sense of what it is. This is more evident when you look at the upper area and how it appears as though it's missing something that must affix to it. (What could that possibly be? Handle? Norse? Ranged physical? Hmmm.) The sigil is akin to a diving bird, but with some interesting watery appearance. Now who do we know that has ties to throwable, one-handed objects in Norse mythology?

michaelbowman6684: They saw that people were really upset that Beastmaster is a Limited Job, so maybe they started making a Job that isn't Limited which can use a Pet. Perhaps this is a "Old Summoner" type of Job, in reference to "guess who's back" with it focusing on applying DoTs and commanding a Pet, perhaps the Pet will be the primary damage dealer while the Master is more focused on applying DoTs, debuffs for enemies, and buffs for their Pet.

I understand this would be incredibly hard to balance for FFXIV, but I want the Pet to have health and that the player would have greater control over it's movement, things like being able to reposition it in a natural and easy way that isn't just it following you around or simple stay/follow commands. Let me "RTS" the bird and my player character like I'm controlling two units at the same time, with the option of controlling each of them independently or simultanuously at the same time. This would make the Job ridiculously hard to play in super hard content, but it'd make the Job so interesting and unique.

nathanbozec779: On the girl being a red herring, I think it bears mentionning that the sigil that appears when the falcon reaches her is shaped like the various small elemental monsters we see the WoL fight. So at the very least, the wand she uses feels more link to whatever is going on with those, rather than the new ranged DPS

maxducoudray: The new main tank/off tank paradigm implies tanks will have more significant reworks than other existing Jobs. If so, it makes it very difficult to predict how Bastion will function because we don’t even know how main tanks will work.

ohwriting: Okay this is just a theory! But I have said for a while that Erenville should stick around and that they should give that bun boy a bow! (lol) But maybe the hint "Guess who's back?" could be a hint for both the job and the stand in who will use it.

I know Erenville just left a patch or two ago, but if they want to add in some new folks Erenville is a good choice. He is fairly knowledgeable considering he was a gleaner for sometime, with a penchant surrounding animals as well. Which I know to some may hint at beast master, but if the new ranged DPS involves some sort of falcon, it could still fit.

Once again, this is just a theory! I could be very wrong, but regardless I am very excited for the reveal come JP Fan Fest later this year.

XieronDraxin: I REALLY hope that the new ranged class is Falconer! I have an OC that is a DnD style ranger and the game currently has NO ranged physical classes with that aesthetic since they made Bard our bow class.

ranstongaming: I strongly believe that the "Wand" we see the Miqote use is more of a "whistle" and the Miqote is an apprentice to this guild of "whatever the phys ranged job is called." Additionally there is a trail of bubbles going from the Sigil to the wand. Which only happens after we get the voice line "STOP".

Due to this i believe that part of the job's mechanic will be our character using the wand to flag out different symbol that command the bird to do different actions as a offhand item. If this was a main hand item I would put this in the realm of a magic user who just happens to have a bird fighting everything.
