Shopping CartNutrafin-3D: fireworks as ANY sort of reward EVER in a random chest or loot drop always feels bad. I agree. Now I have to delete it from wasting space in my inventory. Id rather get nothing.
SpawnOfJenova: It's actually insane how often the devs make awesome content, and completely fumble with the rewards to the point that people never even do the content. Then they assume players didnt like it
Esmer2nd: "Oh cool! The Sil'dihn Subterrane gives a mount for doing all 13 routes! Oh cool! Mount Rokkan gives a mount for doing all 13 routes! Oh cool! Aloalo Island gives a mount for doing all 13 routes! Oh cool! The Merchant's Tales gives- wait, what the fuck is this? An eye mask? Where's my mount?"
isutashia4584: Whoever is in charge of the reward system needs to be fired.
Qorani_VT: I think that the devs have consistently failed to realize that expecting players to complete content "for the love of the game" will get a fair amount of players to clear 2-3 times, but good incentives will get almost as many - if not more - to clear 10 times. If the developers have any interest in fixing the content longevity issue in the game, then they need to realize WHY the content with the best longevity in the game have the followings they do.
FerociousOwl: As a loot goblin, lots of harsh issues with the loot in all 3 version the amount of farm/rng in the farm required. But one thing that does my head in about ALL special currency vendors in the game still...
The lowest cost items are 6 potshards, 1 coin (for ribbons) or 2 manuscripts for materia.
If you're going to have special currencies, add a range of 1 cost items e.g. bundle of prisms, teleport notes, amount of ventures etc so I don't have 2 potshards sitting in my inventory for the next 3 years.
Like just give us another tabs of like "Other" so we can use up those currencies.
DrForester: It was pretty mean to remove the mount reward from the all-routes achievement that has been present in every other Variant.
BlackLight886: When I'm in a competition of ignoring fan feedback and my opponent is CBU3....
Tsukuyomii7: The mask for all paths was a slap in the face for sure.
Imho the perfect loot structure would be:
Story - carpet mount all paths, rest rewards stay same.
Advanced - genie for 100 brass, no chest drop. Orc roll moved from crit to here.
Criterion - weapon/gear/twines for extra savage bis sets options/alt gearing AND the genie 100% drops from the end chest.
Everyone gets something win-win.
davidguerrero4519: Idk why SE is so stubborn against adding Twines and Coats in Criterion, its just a few months before it becomes available through hunts. It helps breaching the gap of gearing towards an Ultimate or gearing alts. Plz we need this!
syaojyn: An upgrade for the figmental weapons would have been nice
ArtemisMyths: The worst part about the personal spoil chests in the variant paths isn't just the prisms. They can and do drop minions and other housing items. So you will open the chests regardless hoping for those items. Instead, you just end up constantly throwing out hundreds of prims
ActionPackedFTW: This is what it looks like when a game is shifted to the bottom of a studio's priority list ️
They're going to do the minimum effort to maintain enough subscribers to keep the game profitable.
Expect to see more cash shop items too, oh wait, we already have more cash shop items per month
Yharnieee: Content wise, its great. Replay worthy? Absolutely not. I cleared 2 runs and I wont do it again. If I want something I'll buy it on the marketboard.
They dropped the ball again and I genuinely believe its killed variant off for good. If they couldnt come up with a fix since Endwalker then it won't happen.
There is nothing for mid core battle players for us to do. Occult is the same, no rewards or incentives.
Bozja was the last true great mid core content we had.
GamingFoodie: It's sad that some of the best, most unique battle mechanics in the game will never be seen by so many.
Hope they add it to the roulette.
akridx5712: My body was ready, but the rewards were not
Kant3n: It's time to break the vertical gearing system apart. SE keeps adding content that means little because the most desirable rewards in a MMORPG are the gear and the most desirable gear is always locked behind Savage, every single piece of it.
When you have exactly one line of progression for gear, everything else that doesn't give max ilvl becomes a redheaded stepchild.
scullzomben: Don't worry, they will surely get it correct the second (nope) third (nope) fourth (nope) fifth time.
arilas1882: I called it a year and a half, where is my chocolate medal?
MarcvsAurelivs: Yoshi-P give us a reason to do any piece of content more than once challenge: Impossible.
BeGoodDontBeReneeGood: If the Critarion had 795 accessories people would have been bending over backwards praising yoshi
rexcyjones9416: These devs are so high up in their asses to think that majority of their players play their content expecting a "spit in the face" reward after wasting hours to prog. Whoever is handling the reward system, needs to be fired and tossed outside the earth's orbit. This game is fun dont get me wrong, probably the best raid fight designs i ever experienced, but man, who's even in their right minds aside CCs would waste hours of playtime just to prog for dogshit rewards in the end? And they complain that many players dont touch their new content? The irony just went and do a backflip over their heads everytime
LittleTofu29: The sad thing is, they already did the rewards system well for another piece of content (Chaotic Alliance Raid). And here i was hoping they would have learnt their lesson from CAR and improve what Criterion would reward players.
akiriith: I dont even mind the mount being locked to advanced, its the fact that the reward for clearing all paths is an eye mask is borderline insulting. Honest to god who's gonna wear that??? its ugly! it hides my characters' eyes! Give me a pretty piece of gear or a cool minion and lock the mount to advanced. It's the fact that I'd rather get the gross rainbow prisms instead of that eyemask that says a lot-- the issue is less the fact that there arent enough rewards and more that in order to make advanced enticing they kinda screwed over normal variant, the rewards they have on it arent different from what we had before, we just a cool mount and got an useless item instead. That's why it feels so upsetting, imo.
Apart from fhe unfortunate lack of glowies I do like the rewards overall, I especially like I can get aloalo glowies from advanced and not just criterion. I really like your idea for augment materials too, I hope its addressed in 8.0 . I def feel the issue of things getting outdated too fast, I never finished Pilgrim's Traverse bc of irl issues and now I'm stuck on a dead queue on reset day for the last 30 floors ;-; As someone who recently got to the endgame, its baffling to me that this is just dead so quickly.
angrywigglytuff: You can't justify a subscription based game without content that is repeatable. The point of the subscription is to justify the time commitment that the game is providing you. If the game fails in this regard the subscription value isn't there. That is why I quit after 7 years. There is zero need to sub to this game for more than a few months every few years.
Xaiken: When I started XIV I never had any intention in doing Savage let alone Extreme content. The reason I got out of my comfort zone wasn't for the challenge, the ilvl, even my friends, it was for glam. I was hoping to see DT tome weapons get their glowy versions. I agree that tome upgrade materials would be a worthwhile addition to the rewards and please for the love of Hydaelyn, no one wants prisms.
