Shopping Cartthekenanski8789: I’d be very interested in a video where you fully explain/narrate a WoW mythic raid for FF players to paint a clearer picture of exactly how fight design works in WoW and how it’s different from FF. Everyone’s heard the synchronized swimming line so many times that everyone says it but I bet most people don’t really know what specific design differences it’s describing.
Yunikurururu: Please don't change the itemization in FF, and certainly not to the WoW one.
There may be many ways to get items, but it's all one big RNG. You could play an entire season and never even see your bis trinket. There's another problem here. Yes, WoW has tons of items with different stats, but 95% of them are garbage. If your character class requires the "crit" stat, you don't need EQ without it, and since item acquisition is completely random...
urgottabkiddingme914: As someone who palys both people think they want wows gear system when they would dread it lmao if it happend
sshush: good to see the TEA background to use. Good video comparison Samer
ChaosLightspeed: Something I didn't hear you mention. Evercold is shaking things up in regards to weekly rewards. It's sounding like it'll still be a bit more restrictive but you'll be able to get the rewards for at least the previous missed week.
EinsteinJR2: Wished you talked about getting BiS
zainlookboonmee: Killing it with the videos man, congrats on getting to 1k subs
unknownstigma892: 9:21 this video doesnt do justice to the fact that ff14 was able to tell an actual story while your doing the raid something that wow hasnt ever achieved the reason why this raid is so important is because of the events that happened in heavens swarn it was something that was expressed and not shown you knew what you where fighting for but wow and even modern ff14 hasnt been able to replicate, i understand the your discribing it from a mechanical stand point but the truth is wow hasnt ever replicated the importance of a fight like ff14 has. this raid is legendary because of the story it tells not the mechanical stand point of it.
chrism.2126: Didnt Preach say the opposite about how in FF you need to know how to solve all x versions of a mechanic incase you get a different one given to you from the pull before (diff debuffs etc), and that WOW has alot of cheese with tanks stripping other players of having to worry about x thing?
AdmPokedex: Great video, I love to see the comparisons when its not whats better but more whats different because both games are pretty awesome in their own way and I think when they steal from eachother they are at their best. I am looking forward to seeing how Evercold shakes up the mmo meta.
EinsteinJR2: You made it sound like addons are almost just as prevalent in XIV but people don't say that they use them. I think almost no one uses raid addons, maybe sub 0.1% of people.
conwythemilkman298: Might be controversial but I think FFXIV could benefit from some kind of Mythic mode, not an exact 1 for 1 but I think they could make something like it work. We have a ranked PVP mode so I'd love a ranked PVE mode.
CatowiceGarcia: oh that’s why I hated wow gear system even as a lv20 capped free player, way too many choice paralysis and way too much I don’t know what I don’t know pitfalls and walls, that’s why FFXIV’s system initially appealed to me and I could not interact with it while doing everything else.
EinsteinJR2: Nice video!
kh0nan: Excellent video my liege
woo22-q8l: great video, very fair comparison. Something i do appreciate about wow fights is that they kinda do both in raid tiers, like you can fights like lura which are scripted and you have more chaotic fights like alleria. In ff, i kinda feel that every fight is always scripted. Just my opinion though
kirifps: yo... 3:10 share the sauce bro
rashash9954: I like both games but FFXIV is def more on the boring side cause SE entire design philosophy is to minimize any type of player agency or randomness in their game. Meanwhile in wow the entire game is based on RNG from class combat to fight designs which allow people to have more skill expression, and more opportunities to have a ''WOW'' moment during an encounter, meanwhile FFXIV is scripted to the T, rotations are so scripted and fights are also scripted with zero randomness, such formula Works just fine but it gets very boring and old very quickly.
I'm not saying its bad, its just the perfect formula for a community such as FFXIV community, been playing XIV since stormblood and one of the things I learned is that the XIV player base is def on the softer side when it comes to difficulty and challenge except a few, so bringing a combat design and boss fight design from games such as WoW or Lost Ark to FFXIV will def hurt the game way more than people think.
Lohsir: You can do the wow raid How many times you want per week, the only thing you are truly locked of is getting loot, however fighting the boss you are free to
EinsteinJR2: We need priority systems and adjusting system every tier in XIV.
TheSortilege: I left wow because I was tired of having to learn a new addon interface every week. I may go back eventually but having fun in ff14 now.
The biggest issues I’ve found so far for ff14 is that there aren’t that many ways to gear. There is no open world content and some of the jobs seem to be all over the place with their job identity.
MisoSouperstar: I've played both games for the longest while, and I've gotta say, It's so hard to read WoW mechanics. The fights are such a mess of effects ad colors. Hard to tell what's even going on. They do have a sick transmog system that FF should definitely steal tho, lol
Max1mVC: ngl the story being as long as it is, is going to kill the new expansion for any new player unless they also pay £40 for the skips ON TOP of the expansion
