Testing FFXIVs New Strategy Board! Doomtrain EX Board

Ren99510: The option to switch to the next strategy board is an action you can macro it or put it on a hot bar

arteris3336: It's a good feature, but its crazy that the share codes are too long for pf descriptions, and i think raidplans/pastebins will come back once everyone has had their fun with the raid planner

KasglasiaLP: Its a very good feature, but if you want to share a folder the code only give you the first page. I don't know if i do something wrong or if its an oversight.

westont8305: i think my biggest issue/worry with the board is the limit of 50 total boards, seems pretty limiting considering how many fights there are in this game

BDtetra: I wonder how they are going to implement adding features to this (like you said, font size), since code generated has to still work from the older versions which didnt have that option. Theoretically they could have a default value set but could be tough to implement additions to the tool itself depending on how they actually coded the tool. The other side is we might see someone quickly decode the has to make an "offline" editor version of the tool which may allow for easier editing/placement of objects.

DacianGradaMusic: This seems like a very good first iteration, they thought of a lot of things seemingly. I'm curious to see how often they'll listen to feedback and implement changes on this feature in particular... Even admitted by YoshiP, sometimes macros convey the point much better and can't be beat, and with basically only NA not using them I can see those still be more popular. That's what I did for a lot of my EX shenanigans on EU: learn the fight, watch a video or two, quickly read the macro in any pf with little to no differences between them, start farming. It's also why I stopped really going for current high end stuff in PF on NA, I can't be bothered to use this and that external tool, pastebin this, hector that without any reference when macros are right there and oh so simple. I guess we'll see how it evolves with more raids and ultimates coming out.

mirageowl: I would love a notes section for the board for sure.

Jay-mx5ky: The main thing I need to see is boss specific maps and debuffs. I should also be able to swap out items of the same category without having to pull a new asset out (if I want to use a preset, I can't swap out "R2" for my static's BRD for example).

VenganceAngel19: definitely needs alot of QoL to make it equal or better than other raid planners, but it has a good start. they really should make the code a hyperlink similar to how items pop up in chat that becomes the code when posted outside of FF14

hbaabes: This seems easy to use and have very useful features like live sharing and having it open on the side during a fight. But there are also very important features missing that still doesn't make it a replacement for raid plan sites. Such as:

- Wall of text to explain mechs

- Sharing a folder

- Needs way more objects including debuff icons

- More arena patterns and a way to customize the shape your own way

Not much is missing, but they are very important to include. Atm, this is still useful, but only to explain specific mechanics rather than a whole fight, or have it as a reminder on the side.

DaiKigg: Yeah unfortunatly atm u have to share every single slide and everyone has to put it in a folder or u just get the 1st page. well i can just hope they change that rather soon than later or this feature will end up like the duty recorder

JonathanFantasy: until we get accurate shapes and floor patterns for every boss arena to use as templates I fear this will be inferior to the tools we've been using

lonepwolf4781: I don't know if it's just me but for some reason when I copy the code in the description it only copies the traincar 1 slide which if it's a limitation of the board that kinda sucks lol

natsunoshiki425: i didnt watch the whole video or the clear only the finished boards to look if it helps, and its fine i guess for a first look, but the last 3 looks kinda confusing if you dont know what will happen

edit: after watching now the first clear, i still think that the board need a bit more work or details maybe even more boards then and text to explain what will happen, otherwise they will not help that much, maybe as a reminder if you know already the fight

Felix0770: Why wouldnt the devs just make an animated board per fight you can mark up? Like the board changes on a timeline slider all the way to enrage with tagged attack points. And it's just a slideshow through the fight. Job icons you set move from point to point per attack.

nicodetonado: tbh they spent all this time and effort mimiking a feature that was not wnated just to be worst than the original when there are so many features that needed more attention than this nonproblem... its frustrating how out of touch the devs can be...
