Xaraes: I never left because I was trying to maintain my FC and personal houses and I've noticed that even with just one fan fest people are coming back, which is super exciting! I'm looking forward to people coming back in evercold and actually being able to play with other people, which is the biggest thing about ffxiv that pulls me in

Only difference is, I was originally a console player, now Im trying to tackle kb&m, and let me tell you, my first raid back last night I was STRUGGLING trying to remember what everything does and press all the shiny buttons (Im a white mage)

strykersgamingltd: I came back after a 2 year hiatus. I accepted the fact how behind I was. I knew I had to relearn how to play all my jobs again. I just jumped in with both feet starting with my Dragoon at level 51 to avoid getting stuck on my tanks or other level 90s and high tier jobs. This helped me immensely to reconnect with the mechanics and observe how others were playing their characters' jobs. I've already jump on a Red Mage and Reaper to help out my FC in a few dungeons. It did not take long to get back into a familiar rhythm of playing these jobs. Just take your time and enjoy reconnecting, it will all come back to you.

massPanic22: A huge change for myself was no longer being in a static, it made the game feel so free, Savage became something i did when i wanted, no longer a requirement or schedule, that then opened up other forms of content, crafting gathering, ocean fishing, chasing other goals it also allowed for other games to breathe, was no longer a feeling of rushing to clear a game, or putting a game off to accommodate raiding.

RoderickBall: The trickiest part for me is trying to remember how my hotbars and macros were setup from before.

Chloe-ov2xr: It's a little annoying that before fanfest I was having fun leveling every job to 100, but now I don't have motivation to learn buttons that will be obsolete in 9 months. I'm excited for evolved, I just want it now!

CarpeNoctemX2: I love tuning into live-streams on YouTube. I watch Preach and the Grinding Gear guys, and it’s lovely to be able to pause and/or rewind in order to catch up with an ongoing stream.

KoriKat-x: Glad you're back in ffxiv, Zepla! Sometimes a break is what's needed, a restart does wonders, and the return can help remind one of the things that they love about the game instead of all the things that were not the greatest. I'm really looking forward to Evercold, and I hope I get to watch you play through it as well as see other ffxiv content you're excited to share!

OfficialAwkbe: I literally logged in yesterday and spent like 5-6 hours total working on making my apartment pretty because "why not". I finished Endwalker a few months ago and I'm just taking my time enjoying the world.

danidani-bu9pe: I havent played at all since finishing the leveling in Dawntrail. With the announcement of Evercold, I got so hyped, got a friend to start the game and redoing all the story with them on a new character has really reminded me of why I fell in love with the game to begin with. Can't wait for us to finish Dawntrail leveling so I can switch back on my main and we can do the Dawntrail patch content before the next expansion!

kurostern2527: I feel pretty similarly to you, i left at the end of endwalker just to take a break. Seeing Evercold's trailer made me realize i missed the game so i subbed back.

It's really funny to see all those systems and classes i played and not remembering a single thing about them. I feel like i'm rediscovering the game.

LauraLee411: Hoping to return after retirement from teaching (soon). REAL life just got too overwhelming. I will mostly likely start over and just enjoy the ride this time. It's so great to see you back.

justguitaring: Holy crap, the breaking old habits part speaks to me. Came back a week ago after taking a break for all of Dawntrail, because of the Evercold announcement. I realized I didn't remember anything and said F it, now I play controller on PC. I'm having a ton of fun relearning all the jobs on a controller.

Honatuto: I can relate from the "stressed about being behind and then doing something that kept me behind" end. Went to Eureka for the first time at the end of March and next thing I knew I was signing up for Baldesion Arsenal raids the start of last week, and apart from the occasional fishing discovery windows for 7.5 (because I am part of that fun little phase every patch) I was having the time of my life there ~despite it not actively levelling you outside of it.~

I genuinely hope OC North Horn has spent so long in the cooker that I get to have fun with it there. I still somehow like South Horn, warts and all, but I also am near the cap on phantom jobs for it.

kiyani2337: I haven't seen this much activity on my server in so long! People were talking in the public chat and I actually got to hang out with a group of people for hours and it was so fun! I have friends that are coming back and it's making me feel so excited for the next expansion. I can't wait for 8.0!!

Naotaku: Every time I try to come back to FFXIV, I realize I'm still at least 2 expansions behind, have a full inventory (of things I have no clue if I need), and that I... CBA. Now I'm compelled to go through that process again :) Needs must...

Draethar: I like a lot of what you said. I just returned and I’m trying out Reaper. So far it feels and looks great but I am also looking forward to the future. Evolved mode could change everything. Could make the existing jobs we play more fun or make us consider jobs we dismissed previously! Fun times ahead.
