I plan on doing advanced on the weekend with static members, but I absolutely feel for the casual players who don't have interest in higher difficulties losing this reward. And for it to be replaced with a facewear item that is already a crafted head piece? Come onnnnnnn Square.

Brawneteer: What baffles me is why they included the material needed to upgrade the tome weapons to be savage equivalent for the weapons from the previous expansion. If they want people to run the content for more than just the achievements and cosmetic rewards, they gotta put some actual useful things in there that are currently relevant like glaze, twine, and solvent.

Envinyon: If they're so unwilling to give people gear on the patch that savage came out then they really need to save this content for odd numbered patches. Chaotic was really well received in part because it gave people alternate ways of getting BiS. Criterion should do the same.

Their rigid adherence to what they think gear progression should look like is really holding them back.

Reminds me of the Endwalker reward for getting all classes to 90 which was also a dumb looking piece of head glam.

NuRhoSquared: I would argue that the new Variant dungeon has worse rewards than any of the ones in Endwalker. In part because some of the rewards that could've been obtained through it were instead given to the Advanced version... with the mount for getting all paths even getting replaced by an eyewear version of the pyjama mask from Endwalker (something that IMO should've been in the Gold Saucer instead)

Maximusrex4575: I think they made it worse by not giving out a mount for completing all the Variants this time. These dungeons also have a lot of cool furniture in them, add those as rewards as well. Materia and Prisms are not it.

kourtneydixon6050: I was working on getting all the routes for the new variant dungeon until I learned from a tweet that the reward is just an eyemask - I stopped immediately.

Zedd53: My gf and I went out of our way to get the Elevated Ester from AAI(S). It took us like, maybe 5 weeks or so to clear our first time, and then we farmed it for about 10 clears. It was HARD, bro.

I'm a little disappointed about it, but, she's REALLY upset. It was very valuable to her because no one did that content, no one cared about it, so it was special to our group. It was so special that if you saw someone else with an Exquisite weapon it was like, being in a special club. We've made friends with strangers who had these weapons. Anyway. Her thinking is this: Can you imagine how people would feel if you could get a TOP weapon with Runaway Totems? That's basically what they did with these Exquisite weapons.

MrHihihiji: The fight content looks fun, and reward structure is not only not better, it's worse. Taking the clear every path for a mount reward away from casual players and go "here's a reskinned sleep mask" is so insanely brain dead. It's not even a unique skin model, it's a crafted face mask you can go pick up for 10 bucks.

guffels: I wonder if they ever figure this out. Adding twines and glazes is so easy and takes no effort but they refuse to get better.

nev2221: 9:02 even at least 5 under savage would have been nice, the raid tier came out 3 months ago, gear does not matter anymore. A little upgrade not bound to savage or crescent could be the carrot on the stick to get the horse walkin again for soooo many people. I know so many of my fc mates who wanna get into raiding, i think giving an easier earned savage level upgrade could help repopulate pf at times like right now. They easily could just make non bis gear with like tenacity-crit or Det-sks raiders are still gonna want to do savage for the better stat lines, and theres just more variety in gear now.

Auesis: At this point I am convinced that CBU3 is still traumatised by the response to the first Diadem dropping good ilvl gear like a decade ago. I can think of no other conceivable reason they are this stubborn.

Zasurein: I have been pushing for variant roulette since they came out. Dunno why they are sitting on such a great opportunity to get people playing these more.

iyoskye: all they needed was to just put upgrade items in another criterion, lol they totally botched variant by moving the mount away from all paths...

gravitycat6862: FFXIV Reward system needs to encourage engagement with content. If Criterion gave out equipment better than savage then that could encourage doing the Savage tier as you could get a boost to help on fights that you are lacking DPS in.

gustersgd: the elevated ester reward from advanced is so strange, not sure what the reason was behind killing the most tangible reason to do any of the criterion savages in the game, nearly equivalent to putting an ult weapon as a reward for farming an EX :/
