No wonder FFXIV jobs suck.

pastaboy1338: Yoshi Pee himself even said DRK was an evil job and it instantly made me disregarded anything he said from that moment on.

Taakuyaa: People are saying that "its actually a Wilds' dev playing DK, so you cant be to hard on him" .... wrong. He may be a MH dev, thats irrelevant though. Even if he isnt a dev FOR the game, he is working WITH the devs of that game to design a fight in said game. He should have an understanding of, and knowledge of, that game in order to be designing or even helping design anything in that game.

Consider it like this, you and I are both builders, you specialize in "out" buildings, green houses, chicken coops, barns, etc, meant to be holistic and healthy/sustainable etc... whereas i mainly do industrial buildings, factories, processing plants, etc. And we decide we're going to work together to build a really cool hatchery or chickens or something, but we're going to do it in YOUR style where it needs to be something you'd see on personal property for more homesteading type people. Then I proceed to NOT study or learn anything about your style, designs, what is being requested, etc, and instead just bring in my soul-less factory designs... well that "collab" isnt going to go very well it is? You're not really "collabing" because I've not bothered to learn anything about the other side of it and incorporating my experience with factory-effeciency with your need for healthy/sustainable/holistic design. At that point ALL of the work is on YOU to try to fix MY design intentions to not be ruthless factory/industry design, isnt it?

These devs SHOULD have been expected to take the time to learn how the other game works a LOT more in depth before attempting to design ANYTHING for the others game.

That, btw, I'm guessing is why the omega fight in MHWilds sucks balls as well. Its brutally difficult, constant damage, constant attacks, keeping threat is a nightmare, the damage output is insane, that dps requirement in the third area is brutal, and it expects a level of cooperation and coordination you can barely achieve in a MH game. Because the ff14 devs didnt bother to learn anything about wilds before "helping" design a fight in that game. And yes, I'm a seasoned MH vet at this point, experienced in numerous (but not all) weapons and playstyles and hunt styles across half a dozen MH titles at this point. I can do that fight, thats not the point, its not a fight DESIGNED with MH style in mind, even a tiny little bit, and certainly not the modern MH fight/playstyle design in mind.

Instead, its built with FF14 in mind and ONLY it in mind. It expects you to sit there and maintain 80% uptime on damage output to maintain agro to keep the boss still enough for the damage focused players to do their job well enough to get through the different phases WHILE being pummeled with attacks constantly which you have to block or dodge, which is logical IN FF14 NOT IN MH because dodging OR blocking eat away at your uptime ... but not in FF14!.... or how about healing? It expects you to gear for healing and run around almost purely focused on healing the group... which again works in ff14 where your healing abilities are SKILLS that endlessly replenish themselves, but thats now how MH works, you have a finite amount of healing items you can bring in total, in a limited inventory system, and it takes time and money to keep those stocks replenished between fights and the omega fight expects you to burn them nearly constantly. Or how about the dps requirements? that spider moves around CONSTANTLY making it near impossible to keep good uptime on, its near impossible to control where it is or will be, and again is has "enmity" if you can even get it but that again requires a fuckload of uptime on JUST its head.... and then as dps going back to omega if the boss is moving around at ALL its incredibly difficult to keep focused on JUST its legs to wound them and end its whacko mode... not to mention that trying to dodge some of its attacks are nuts because not all weapons move/roll/etc at the same speed, yet the ability to dodge some of those attacks are almost purely designed around the FASTEST rolling/movement speeds so good luck playing a slower weapon or one that cant block.

My point is this: NEITHER of those dev teams really took the time to play and learn the others game, before being allowed to DESIGN FIGHTS in those games. And thats UTTERLY daft, completely without a reasonable excuse for doing so or it being allowed to happen.

BOTH dev teams fucking suck.

ChannelRaznoff: Remember when everyone praised the game saying it was because the devs play their own game? Honestly though, this is just like 70-90% of the player base. Explains why most of the content is brain dead easy.

nowunknown00: I love shitting on 10 yen yoshida and crew as much as the next guy but those are monhun devs probably indeed playing the game for the first time

Manaward: They're laughing at their own incompetency

Cocytus127: Almost as bad as watching the blue-hair Diablo 4 devs playing their own game.

akridx5712: I wouldn't be surprised if the dev was a PayPal Legend

yowobby6431: The Dark Knight is not FFXIV DEVS. If you search the name of the dark knight 'Kaname Fujioka' it will show you that he is Monster Hunter devs.

Max44321: "8.0 patch notes: as an accessibility update, Dark Knight will no longer have to upkeep its damage buff"

Zant5976: Apparently it's a monhun dev with the stacks. Makes sense for it being Arkveld.

megakazuya123: "FFXIV is about feeling good, not being good..."

~XIV Community~

PunkFiddler: next expansion, DRK buff timers will get the BLM treatment.

"Look forward to it."

:D

shiro12okami69: Truth be told, around 50% or maybe even up to 70% from my experience, can’t do rotations properly in this game. And I play the game for a very very long time. The bar ain’t high for ffxiv. Hence I’m so irritated why ppl scream for more difficult rotations,if they can’t even properly maintain the current even, but yeah it’s a dev from MH from what I know,so it’s kinda normal if u play the game for 1st time x)

But how the game currently functions u don’t even need to do it properly,u don’t get punished for it since content clears itself over time. No enrages etc for casual stuff.

sunayocarissime5309: Jees this is just sad! When playing DRK, Darkside is usually active because I use Flood of Darkness as an opener and then use Edge of Darkness to keep the buff active. I also don't INTENTTIONALLY get invul stacks. This is CRAZY amounts of sad.

GuruGodPlays: This is absolutely devastating to their credibility at this point.

mocabunn: Monk Job design since ARR makes sense now.

WinglessEvilAngel: Just want to say it's next to impossible to not maintain Darkside as Dark Knight since you are suppose to be spamming Edge of Shadows in your burst windows. Also I don't think I saw a single Blackest Night used.

stuperman117: I’ve played a lot of DRK, it is a main tank job for me to the point that the people I play with have come to associate it with me. But the knowledge and skill I’ve gained, it’s taken me over the course of a year to get all of that. To know what mits to use, when to use them, how to best use them, and how to keep allies alive, such as tossing Obulation or TBN on a dps or healer that was about to die. But that’s again, over the course of a year to gain all my knowledge and experience.. and I still mess up, from forgetting how to do certain fights and raids because of how rare they show up (Endwalker alliance raids or neir alliance raids as a good example for how often the ARR raid comes up). And always learning a fight the first time is rather rough until you recognize the attack patterns.

It’s saddening to see, even if it wasn’t the ff14 devs, just how bad they trained up those who were doing that fight. So disappointed in almost all of dawntrail, affer enjoying my time from ARR to Endwalker, flaws and all. And yes, I’m of the minority that enjoyed Stormblood, because it allowed me to further flesh out my own WOL’s backstory just a tad bit more.

Jimpachiro: I hate to be this guy but that was not a SE employee playing but Kaname Fujioka of Capcom to help showcase the monster Hunter event . That said current job design is made for people like him. Lower the skill floor

CrisperPoet: As much as I enjoy shitting on the devs and their homogenized incompetence, the DRK isn't a 14 dev, so this video comes across as bad faith with that context. I assume that you weren't aware and it wasn't intentional, but it bears correcting if we're gonna hold ourselves to a higher standard.

MasterOssy: I know there are DRK mains, I would’ve be livid. This is a bad look. I get it if it was a newbie, not a dev.

Melvin-Akb31d3kg4r: I was speaking of SE last failures in these years in a asmongold rerun channel then a toxic moderator offended me of being a idiot thinking he was the master of truth, then a snowflake moderator player of ff14, told me to apologize when i offended him back, in the end i got banned for speaking bitter truths...lol what a community of glass typos.

trodune: Developers! Is it truly so hard to power slash? Even roxas can tank better than you! Get good or you'll be replaced!

idleeidolon: Aren't these a bunch of monster hunter devs?

sevenandone71: Doesn't shock me at all...it was the same with Ninja (i think??). They had to rebalance the job because the player actually manage to create a rotation the dev have never even try. The job was so strong they had to change all the potency. And the dev admit it!! no joke. "Players are actually better than us at this job"!!!

UnshackledCreator: Oh? this is why I have people seeing my video =) A man of culture I see, Imma subscribe.

Rotamoglama: Nah, that's the monster hunter devs.. they don't play final fantasy so of course they don't know what the hell they are doing.
