BrysinSelim: It isn’t really touched upon in full detail in the story, so I can explain here, as it’s not spoilers. The land of Vylbrand where Limsa Lominsa resides was already home to two tribes of what modern Eorzeans call beast tribes, the Kobolds and the Sahagin, when the Roegadyn sailors landed there in the southern part centuries past. Having fled their homeland, they built settlements along the southern coast. Eventually they ran into the beast tribes. They began to fight and skirmish with each other until they decided to come to an accord. The Sahagin gave them the southern coast and its waters, but the Lominsans were never to take from the bounty of the other waters around Vylbrand. The Kobalds gave them the lands near the southern coast to farm and develop, but the remaining lands were never to be despoiled by Lominsans. It is fairly obvious in the present day of the game that the Lominsans have gone above and beyond breaking that accord. This has given the beast tribes permission (as per the agreement) to wage war on Limsa Lominsa.
