Shopping CartMaria_Erias: "A ton of rewards."
Devs: "Hey, players! We heard you wanted more level 50 materia!"
socram3254: I expect it to be decent fun to level up and collect beasts, but then become a weekly chore and with half assed updates in the future
EmperorPanda: My biggest fear is not the job itself, but that Crucible of the Unbroken might turn out to be too shallow. A roguelike system can be great for replayability, but it needs depth for longevity.
BladRavenYey: i hope the beastiery shows mob drops, its the only kind of log we dont have that will be helpful for crafters/gatherers
naruto99124: I am keeping my expectations low at this point
Tks525: The biggest issue for Bluemage is it's barrier of entry. Between not being able to queue with normal jobs and requiring several spells from 4-8 player instances, getting the required set of spells has a unreasonably high barrier of entry.
Since Beastmaster is (at least according to the last PLL) entirely single player focused, that barrier of entry issue shouldn't exist, so I have fairly high hopes for BST.
(Barrier of entry in general is one of the largest issues of FFXIV in general, so here's hoping that they finally start addressing that.)
xPharis: FFXIV devs:
“Best I can do is some materia and sparklers”
ItazuraP: The Playsyation 5 trophies are for learning all 120 spells, and complete all 110 routine missions
bene5594: Where my worry lies is the competitive ranking system, that combined with Mr Ozma making it.
Its worrying that the content might be fun, but more suited to a more hard content enjoyer. And casual players end up doign the crusible once or twice and get stuck either becoming an ult raider level player. Or just abandon it i guesse. And rogue likes are fun for a bit but once you unlocked it all it kindof needs regular updates to stay interestign and with FF14's track record that clearly isn't a think that will happen soon. I do pray for the best and i wanna hope it great but i do fear for it same for the job implmentation/ variation, they keep making all jobs more simular to make battle content easier to design so having 50 monsters that supposed to dramaticly change how you play make me worried that i might feel the same for most monsters just another paint job
gizmomogwaigaming7904: Wait so now it’s only coming out with a lvl 50 cap? Wow
biocajun86: I’m gonna keep it real with you, I no longer have good expectations for content, much less high expectations.
NolChannel1: The fact that Blue Mage got delayed for this has me very concerned. Injecting new life into old savage content should be what we're doing - will Beastmaster really be able to get that same light?
TheRetifox: I want to like it, but I just can't stand the idea of Limited jobs. I think this is by far one of the least likeable content designs for this game. The gimmick of having a pet really runs off really fast, if the only time I will be useful for me is for solo play, or with other beastmasters. Just an idea, I can solo the previous dungeon with this job, like great... Might as well Unsynced dunegon, and go with another job too.
ssjgokuhan: Having a party of monsters reminds me of XIII-2. As someone who loved BST in XI I'm hoping this will be fun but I feel like we've been let down too many times.
TheDaxter11: 23:29 This needs to be said for the game as a whole at this point. They keep doing the same stuff over and over again and everything starts just feeling the exact same. For example, dungeons are the same 3 bosses between 4 packs of mobs that you can do big pulls with for 2 big packs between each boss, and dungeons are useless beyond doing the story, levelling and transmog. It's the exact same every expansion, no changing it up or anything, the same straight line jog each and every time with some nice looking background scenery that doesn't even factor into the dungeon at all.
Also roulettes, if you don't do end game stuff it's the same "Grind roulettes to get gear instead of actually doing any new content" crap that we always have to do and it's just so boring at this point.
Rasolisu: 'Blue mage updated throughout the patches'
IE forgotten about entirely and quietly killed for Dawntrail.
56Bagels: If this is anything except glorified Trusts I’ll be astounded.
stevemitchell4663: guess if i want to play bluemage and beastmaster i need to go back to ffxi :/
xarnic291: They should actually learn from ff11 and make it good. And fun. And not limited
DarkStorm047: They couldnt even live up to the increased rewards and the tone deaf no que for the 48 man content and you still believe they wont fuck up this in any way. it'll eventually be dead content like blue mage
eleus8715: there isnt much hope left after the fails of chaotic raid, occult crescent and criterion dungeons
Amarathval: Would be fun if it ever gets to Stormblood or Dawntrail we can tame the Monster Hunter bosses.
DerioTheArtist: Blue mage biggest issue is barrier of entry and how it was sold off as solo friendly but turned out not to be.
Beastmaster seems to rectify this however most people would prefer these be two regular jobs
sepheroithisgod: I'm concerned about the crucible since Mr. Ozma made it. He's a talented developer, but he seems to make things harder than they should be for content aimed at larger audiences. The chaotic raid was a great example of this. Would be more popular if it were more forgiving.
awworrell: Now the fun begins with Blue and Beastmater being updated in rotating expansions since Square is such a small indie development company with constant resource struggles. At least on the plus side, they created the next 20 years of possible content to get beast master to level 100. Couple that with "this job is meant to be a solo experience" but requires a group to get beasts.
Vargas87: I have literally no hope for this.
emmacatte: It’s gonna get the blue mage treatment where they’ll give us rewards at the start and then just 1 carnaval, 9 spells and access to raids
