natebroadus8474: JoCat's guides are hilarious, but actually very helpful, no joke. I avoided NIN until I watched JoCat's melee dps video, now it is my most played job.
MelvaCross: These guides are deceptively helpful. A lot of former WoW players make avoidable mistakes because FFXIV works differently. And JoCat adresses a lot of these bad habits.
A lot of tanks new to FFXIV run around like headless chickens because they think they can dodge auto-attacks. Doing this will make melee DPS lose damage because they can't hit their attacks with positional requirements.
New healers keep the party at 100% and don't DPS which wastes everyone's time AND it sandbags the party in high-end content with enrages. The only HP that matters is the last. Keeping the party alive is the bare minimum, good healers deal damage 90% of the time and let their healing abilities/oGCDs do most of the work.
Jocat often emphasised how you should keep the other party members in mind. Not running around as tanks is for the DPS players. Stop attacking to dodge AoEs is making life easier for healers. Goal of this game is to finish your duties and do so as quickly as possible. Playing the best you can, giving it your all and keeping your party members in mind is what every player should do. Doing maximum damage, even as a healer, even when it's harder, is the polite thing to do.
arcanadawn: JoCat is an amazing creator. Glad you found these!
Gameorama91: Love Jocats stuff! His video called "I wanna talk about how it took me 300 hours to like FFXIV (And how you can too in less time)" is really a great watch, and if you have any interest in D&D those guides are all amazing as well!
ManxoChu: ProTip: play the vids to the end. Sometimes there's post-credit scenes.
Cordaran: there is a drawback to LB3 for healer though. it resurrects your ass exactly were you died. so if on certain Trials you body is touching the border/outside zone you will either die again or get a bleed effect depending on the type.
dacomputernerd4096: I love how the dps video ends with his queue popping. As a black mage main, I always have factorio or something open in the background when playing for two things
•MSQ Roulette dungeon monologues
•Sitting in DPS queue
Nihonguy: You guys might enjoy pint or cider spider as well theyre both enjoyable
asmariamoon: Another funny series to watch is Larryzaur's Basically, [Job name here] videos. It starts with Basically, Summoner IIRC.
timalice-2833: This made me realize how much I miss jocat’s videos. I started watching him while his crap guides to monster hunter. He never failed to entertain.
