learn every job in FFXIV in under 12 minutes!

sshush: not even real 99 parses in the thumbnail... washed?!

- good video!

mohamedosman653: Wait, people look at logs to learn how a job works?!!! WTF XD!!

The_TylrG: I can confirm the current state of BLM. I am a WAR main because my brain don't think so good and even I picked up BLM in DT.

Brawneteer: BLM main here, yeah no BLM is not the hardest job, it's actually the easiest when it comes to the rotation. The difficulty comes from positioning, and saving your instant casts for any required movement. There is also saving up your resources, in this case polyglot, to spend on your 2 minute burst, and what spell speed you choose to use which will affect your rotation. BLM is a memory game, getting to certain points in a fight and recognizing that you're there based on where you are in your rotation because you've done the fight so much, it allows you to plan things out and I believe that BLM is the poster child for teaching good habits because you have to do that in order to be effective.

giza_5622: SMN main here

While my job is easy af, one of the biggest challenges it has is decision making of what demi primal to use at a certain point in the fight to keep uptime which stems from actually learning the fight. Yes, i can roll over my keyboard with my face, but if i actually want to be good i still have to know where in the fight is the window to use ifrit and its casts. Not to mention long slipstream cast. I swear i have cooked a whole consistent rotation when was progging UWU cause at lvl70 garuda casts are useless and timings are tight, so your free movement is tied to titan and bahamut windows

I am now learning different jobs and classes, but this experience alone teaching you in what order do you want to use your stuff.

jadegreenleaf781: The hardest job is objectively a male miquo'te on dancer, since its nearly impossible to focus on the fight

PrayLuna: Step one: don't be employed

aequila_hildelane: Ohh what is this optimizing timeline you're using near 1:20 ? :O

Mobb_o7: you're a hero, i've been looking for tips for like 3 days now and couldn't find anything and then you upload this video. thank you for specifically making this video for me the guy you don't know.

EeveehFFXIV: 6:09

YEAH I SEE YOU OVERCAPPING XENOGLOSSY

turtles10: i was truly horrified when leveling pct after the last 6 months of raiding on and optimizing blm, i managed to backdoor my way into the exact same conceptual 9 gcd burst windows that are in the optimization doc (especially with the muscle memory i have from fast blm of making sure i weave lines super late to catch 11 casts and not just 10). only difference being that instead of star prism, i was using KCYMK for hyperphantasia

harryolo1: Wow, a FFXIV content creator that actually knows what he's talking about in regards to endgame AND doesn't stir pointless dramas?

tristment2020: Some things that have been working for me is to set my hot bars in a similar fashion across jobs. For melees I have flank and rear positionals on the same buttons, 60s buffs if they have one are on the same one and so are 2m buffs or skills are on the same button too. I am to my benefit and discredit a creature of habit so having stuff setup this way work well when it comes to learning new jobs.

Another thing that I do as a console player and I have to raw dog the ping and latency is take time to learn what can be double weaved without clipping and what can't. It does unfortunately make jobs like mch unplayable for someone who likes to try and optimize (same for ninja but not nearly as bad as mch) but it helps keep my clipping to a minimum and even with that still able to get fairly consistent purples and even oranges tho admittedly I do feel barred of trying to ever shoot for high ranks.

elvariand1349: my goat

xytior: Becoming my favorite ff14 youtuber recently :D good stuff

ThebadassXIII: In short

Play whatever job you like honestly it doesn’t matter and all easy to learn

EXCEPT BLM,AST,RDM that require a bit more optimisation with thier set ups “RDM is not that hard but overflowing black over white magic and vice versa is easy to accomplish if not paying attention”

And optimally don’t have two of the same job in a party

tjyllc8657: as always the best videos come from smaller content creators and channels. Don't be a* stinky Penos for Xenos, support smallee channels like this fellow WoLs.

beamergtr: I’m not trying to be overly mean/critical but I don’t see what useful information this video provides. I’ve played other MMOs’ endgame competitively and have been interested in trying final fantasy’s endgame recently. The balance is indeed overwhelming at first glance but just saying “recognize patterns” and “read your abilities” doesn’t really mean anything. I don’t see how you could reach a point where you’re trying to get into endgame content without knowing that a 123 combo exists or how cooldowns work. IMHO I feel like a video series with a short breakdown on the classes would accomplish so much more. Again not trying to shit on you, but also if you are actually a great player then that kind of advice would go a long way in lowering that barrier to entry.

bensharplesfilm: How to learn a job, Watch a Wesk Abler Video, Hit a target dummy for 10-30mins, then run some fights up through the difficulties, Consult the balance and other resources and improve as you go. Takes many hours and thats how people learn through doing.

jackbobalon1: I have been playing since 2013. No one has ever explained jobs like this. Everyone is just focusing on each job. Or that all tanks are the same. But really enjoyed this and definitely will take it to maybe finally level monk and ninja lol

KtjnXIV: I would rather have a green or blue parser in my group that truly understands the game and how the mechanics actually work, than a pink parser who can only do one strat and can't or won't adjust to save a pull. Obviously talking about PF and not statics.

Beosker: Agreed. Blm is so easy now. It makes me sad
