Shopping Cartelijaharisyn2105: as someone who picked it up barely a month ago and a full time job and somehow still over 200 hours already... yes. New players can easily enjoy FFXIV
michaelstiller2282: Such a good perspective on the game. Seeing how absolutely excited you are to play. Makes me romance the game even more as you will enjoy the experience as much as i do.
patyos2: In a way each expansion is basically its own Final Fantasy game in a long running series that you carry over your character between all those games “expansions “
RijackiTorment: I am a year in and far too many hours to count and I agree with you 100%. There is so much to do in the game and lots of varied game play. I normally hate playing a healer in a game and prefer magic DPS, but I've ended up maining and enjoying Scholar and am working on leveling White Mage, both variants of healer. I do also enjoy my bard (physical ranged) and want to level other jobs as well. I love job switching in FF XIV.
However, if someone only want to play a couple hours or less a week and are entirely uninterested in a storyline in a game or playing dungeons that have a bit of mechanics requiring the character to move and react, then it probably isn't a good game for them.
kumquatted: Dealing with the mogstation is still preferable to the alternative: having to read a guide on how the fuck to sub/activate expacs through steam and being very confused for a good while til you get it done.
QuantumSenpaii: I love Final Fantasy XIV. The story, the music, the characters, the glamours, and the pve content. Haven’t really tried pvp
synitarthrax5618: I agree! In fact, watching your stuff I was inspired to give it a go again. I've had the game for a while but never really played it much so I just logged in and started from scratch ... no great loss ... and it's starting really draw me in. What's great for me is when I first start an MMO, I'm an altcoholic and it's great that I can play all of them on a single char. Not only that but you get a hefty experience bonus when you start a new job depending on the level your highest char. So far I've got Lancer up to Dragoon, Pugilist up to Monk and I'm tossing a coin to choose next. When I get all the base jobs done I'll pick one and run with it. I now it's not the most efficient but for some reason in this game I'm not in a rush. Refreshing. Thanks for the inspiration!
WoWRefugee: I played WoW for over 15 years and there was a time when I just wanted sweaty combat, but I did still love the lore... well, at least up to WotLK. Wow just burnt me out and the story was just not compelling enough and there wasn't really any "Evergreen" content and honestly, the community was so toxic... not enough to keep my interest once I wasn't primarily focused on raiding.
I'm also now married, a Dad and have a career.
FFXIV definitely a more well-rounded MMO. I've dipped my toes into Savage but realized I'm just not that sweaty anymore so the hardest content I do now are just EX Trials.
The story is incredible. The Evergreen content is amazing.
For me, FF is just the superior MMO. An MMO is not just for hardcore combat, there are plenty of games that provide that. I now play an MMO for the whole game.
barkdispenser: Literally just jumped into the free trial and it's a breath of fresh air. I'm purposefully not looking up guides, and just taking my time. Joined the fishing guild last night, and while I can't use the marketboards as a trial acc to sell my fish, it's nice to just slow down and enjoy discovering new things. I like how you randomly unlock challenges for example and get a chunk of xp/gil for just playing the content. Doing dungeons for GC seals to tick off the GC log is cool too!
feynway: I'm really glad you feel this way about the game after just finishing ARR. It deserves more love than it gets. I think a lot of people go in without ever having experienced an mmorpg, so they expect it to be incredibly flashy. No, bby. This is your life now. You just got here and have to learn everything about the place. Slow burn world building is the name of the game with mmorpgs. It just so happens that everything after ARR gets HELLA FUCKING INTENSE story and lorewise. I started this game in 2020 during quarantine and came from playing Everquest II yeeears earlier, so it gave me more than i was expecting, honestly. I was instantly hooked.
I get where you're coming from with THAT ONE QUEST, but you must appreciate how all your friendos didn't want to send you to fight Titan on an empty stomach or without sampling a glass of 1547 Bacchus vintage red
milotor9158: I think I played ffXIV for about 700hr now, mostly alone( no FC, no people to play with) so for me the point that this game is entirely playable alone (except for a few things) is realy true, and yet it's still fun to interact with people from time to time, for example the NN is for me a very nice addition, because I never truly feel alone when looking at the NN chat while doing side content
wheelsrolling369: Everything's a DPS when you're holding it right
altansipdrae2759: "you're gonna see that yellow line"
scream in Samurai
kumquatted: Like we thought your answer would be any different xD
kumquatted: Over under on whether ethin is ever gonna try healer or tank? Start healing ethin so I can start blaming YOU for my mistakes instead of the other way around xD
LupinKing: As someone who started the game a bit before you (but then got distracted running a bunch of different jobs, lmao), I'm glad to see how much you've enjoyed it and I wholeheartedly agree with everything you said! I just finished the MSQ of ARR 3 hours ago and it's solidified itself already as my favorite Final Fantasy game I've ever played! Great video!
TheUnrelenting: Guy hasnt even made it to endgame yet
Cyraneth: So good to see you settle in to the game. You’re still in for one heck of a ride. Enjoy!
Nava4Gamingz: You will flew into another dimension by hearing the music, enjoying the story, walking in in the adventure. As a man who has memory on Final fantasy since a kid, this is Heaven.
Mohgenstein: I started year ago. I’m currently at storm blood, maybe around 250 hours in. Im a casual player who doesn’t do dungeons. I just love doing the main story and admiring the music, environments, and world. Really this game is a comfort game for me, very relaxing.
46yearoldgamerguy: You have good taste picking up red mage. Probably my favorite class out of all MMOs that I’ve played.
skeletalcountdown: As a WHM main, who has been playing this game for five years now... I've not once been blamed for anything going wrong. XD Not injustly. I got called out on my very first trial ever and that one 100% was my fault no questions asked; panic from a new sprout new to MMOs, haha.
And if I did make mistakes that lead to problems, I've always apologised right away and gotten a version of "It's okay, we'll try again! :D" in response.
So I really don't know where this rumor that people blame the healers came from; I've not seen it in my 4500 hours of time in this game. xD
NakuruKouChannel: he said it, he said the copypasta!
keiichimorisato98: The new expansion Evercold, healers will purely be healing. Their DPS potency is going to be dramatically reduced, as well as the removal of half of the DPS skills, which wasnt very many to begin with. So healers are solely going to be healing in combat encounters, and will be further screwed for solo duties
themightyfleaforonce4656: I joined a couple of months ago and am loving it. I finally bought in yesterday.
TziliTravels: eyoo fellow sprout ! this is such a well put together video.
"long big neck mfer" is what imma start calling elezens from now on LMAO.
coming from wow, it took a good while for me to get used to the slow combat style. none of the started classes really did it for me, but oohh do i love red mage and astrologian. so i think once you find that fitting job for you, the combat gets MUCH better. from what i've heard, it gets better with higher level too but i can't speak on that yet.
ugh there is so much to say about this wonderful game, but you summed it up really well. but the most important advice imo is to take your time with it. explore, discover, and don't rush it. arr's bad rep is unjustified and i stand by that.
i will be following you along as i go through this journey myself as well! :3
VinceVanished: wait till you get to mare lamentorum for the first time.... thats a moment in gaming you'll never forget
