thalesn: I'm on PlayStation and it's true that I rarely have been disconnected because of these attacks, but the game still freezes and lags a ton when they happen. That's been my experience, at least. It's better than getting kicked, for sure, but it's still a problem. Plus, you know, there's only so much you can do in this game by yourself.

MULTYGAMERLOVER: I live in Asia, so I had to use vpn to get bearable ping for when I do EX and savage, I picked exitlag for this, so when I did the new raids and the DDOS attack literally I was the only one left on my team and had to wait like 10 mins before they all came back.

its funny that me being halfway across the world from NA servers would be the survivor of the DDOS attacks.

Under certain conditions, summoning retainers caused server outages.

In Cosmic Exploration, the server would crash in rare instances when completing Mech Ops under certain conditions.

RinaraKaisuke: can confirm, i use one of the LA nodes for exitlag and on several occasions have lagged but not fully dc'd due to the ddosses. in some scenarios, i have been the sole survivor of hells on rails parties... xD

Byzantine343: I've had a good amount of success using Mudfish and the advanced routing option, got got by one DDoS but avoided five others.

It's dumb that we have to do this just to play the game in NA but it IS a decent bandaid for now.

tbeshers: I just switched to my PS5 a few days ago, and it does not kick me off near as much as my PC did. But I do suffer my screen freezing or I just go off-line.

There have been numerous times over the past month and a half - when 10-20 members have DCed all at once.

malenbadger7733: As someone in south east asia, i personally connect to japan vpn servers in order to connect to NA ff14 servers, at least it keeps the ping steady at around 200-250ms and i rarely get dced, unless the vpn connection itself gets interrupted

GanonAutumn777: Im on ps5 and while most of the time i survive that doesnt mean i dont suffer from the same lag spike afflicting everyone in my parties whenever a ddos attack happen. Sometimes i still disconnect with everyone else even if it the ddos doesnt cause a lobby error

Diddz: they either need to move to a company with DDOS protection, or add leniency features to crafting (mats are refunded on Disconnect) and all high end raids (global phase checkpointing for all raids) because the play seems based off of this to xfer to JP and play there to not get cucked by the attacks

ladyopheliagames: I took the OCE option and it has been smooth sailing since. I also live near the nodes, so I accept there is only so much I can do to not catch a DDOS, but let's just say your girl packed up her goods and took some extra gil over to craft with no issues in OCE and the community was real chill and friendly too, so you know - might be spending some more time over here. :D

Gelgumi: I was crafting my RDM weapon, and i got the DDOS in the middle of it.

Thankfully my friends funded me the mats i lost, so it was nice of them.

You could say the heart shape of it represents the friendship that lead to me creating it, right?

arof7605: Did this myself after the first disconnect today. Reinstalled Mudfish only to discover I still had credit there from the last time I used it (that $5 should last months of the average 14 traffic with how they charge) and swapped my routing around. You can force entry and exit nodes into their network at a very slight ping increase, mine went from 70 to 80 average. Coming out of their network in San Fran (north of the affected node I guess) I got hit by the 2nd DC but coming out in the lowest ping to server San Jose node just a bit south of the previous spot I lived the next disconnect with only a brief lag.
