Shopping CartReyReyzzz: i heavily support expanding on old areas because there's no way that we've explored all of tural in just one '.0' patch. that continent is like 2-3 times larger than Eorzea bruh, it just doesn't make sense that we've seen most of it already.
Re-visiting places is simply better for the longevity and depth of the game as well. World of Warcraft kept creating new places for each expansion and the result was the story being too scattered and the zones being so narratively shallow, and I really don't wish for FFXIV to fall into this same mistake.
thegneech: Man, I would LOVE for the game to go deeper instead of wider. MMOs as a genre have a giant "the past is disposable" problem, and while FFXIV is better about it than many, it still suffers from it.
NobutakaFairclough: Scribe "ILSABARD!"
Me: "aannndddd here we go."
kuronaialtani: I, personally, want to explore the Far East. Properly this time. We went there just for Hingashi as a hub and then west into Doma and Yanxia. All of the East is open for exploration, and Yoship has mentioned there being shogunate wars of succession out that way. With the knowledge of the Winterers, and Blindfrost “in Othard’s north” from Emet’s adventure list, and now also the Rising message that could have silver as our next focus to Dawntrail’s gold, I think there’s a very good chance we’re getting Othard round 2. We could get a true tank samurai, and maybe a crossbow or kunai thrower ranged.
Narnio01: Uncloud Ilsabard please! It's been too long!
edit: Isn't Rabanastre and Dalmasca technically Othardian in culture? I believe that was clarified at one point and it was an old retconned lore tidbit that claimed it was a part of Ilsabard.
Pytas23: As a noted Roegadyn fan, I NEED to know more about the original Roegadyn homeland. I feel like Roegadyn are kind of shafted when it comes to history and lore compared to the other playable races, so getting to actually go to their homeland and explore it would be a huge win for me.
deucesommerfeld1248: I REALLY WANT TO GO TO SKATAY RANGE PLEEEEEEEEEASE YOSHI P! We've seen the Rava and the Viis of other world I just wanna see the mountain buns!
Karamaru_Crow: I'd like to go to Meracydia, but I'd also like to travel new areas in the homelands of Eorzea and see what's up there as well as Hinagashi.
Fourtrooper: I'm really hoping for a "far north" expansion that not only uses Aerslant but parts of northern Ilsabard and Othard too
SwiftbladeSpecials: So stoked for whatever is next!
elaine_of_shalott6587: Number One: Probably after you filmed but didn't Yoshi-P just say in an interview that he knows when we are going to Meracydia but it isn't soon?
andljoy: We could try to find the mighty Lalafell empire of Nym, now you may say that that empire fell.... but that is exactly what they want you to think, they are the true power pulling the strings from the shadow !
Burori1: Would be interesting to have a Garlemald hub, which serves as a point of different factions meeting to work things out, likely with some signifigant violence along the way.
WolfysEyes: I personally feel as if the reflections would be the next "logical" location for the expansion, primarily because we're holding onto an interdmensional macguffin and Y'shtola has stated purpose of researching how to move through reflections without requiring the split of body and soul. Pair that with the fact that It's Ascians Again in the plot and this sort of feels like the direction we're going.
shh532: I still think it'll be a reflection, POSSIBLY a time-disconnected Thirteenth from the future which has 'balanced' darkness and light from the First. This is sort of setup by EW's post MSQ, and the Exarch says it's fully possible for reflections to suddenly accelerate their relative time to each other - so it's maybe possible we go back to Thirteenth and Zero/Golbez are long forgotten but everything has changed...
FhtagnCthulhu: As a Roe player since 3.0, I would love to visit the northern islands where the Roe come from. The roe lore we do have is really fun. Emet Selch did speak about "...the treasure islands beyond the frozen waters of Blindfrost, in Othard's north?" and we heard about the Winterers, so I would be happy to venture up there.
dusky6484: my guess is basically any place Emet-Selch mentioned in that cutscene where he was talking about our duty as the bearer of Azem's crystal. I'd be incredibly surprised if we don't make our way to Meracydia at the very least.
loreyxiv8736: Aerslaent vikings!
williek08472: There's quite a few places near Aldenard that we haven't visited at all, namely the island of Mazlaya and the Roegadyn homeland of Aerslaent. There's also G'raha's homeland of Corvos which is frequently mentioned, but we're getting a variant dungeon based on it in 7.4.
Personally I'd love to have an "Eorzea revisited" expansion where we go to more maps that weren't ported into ARR, namely the rest of Coerthas and the West Shroud.
TheAgr08: I think one zone might be "in between" reflections. The people of the Source aren't the only ones aware of the shards, and I think there's going to be an expansion on the idea that individuals or groups have been world hopping, or getting lost/finding refuge in a space outside of them.
Dio____Brando: I need my daily lore videos god ive been bored
StarBlood27: We ain’t really been to Hingashi outside that time on the mountain
xantho368: I really would love for us to backtrack a little bit. As you said, there's still so much to be seen on the 3 old continents - especially Ilsabard and parts of Othard. I would greatly love to see Gelmorra as it is spoken of in lore as being vast and cavernous like DnD underdark, I think that would prove to be a fun adventure
isturma: The next locale that i'd really like to see comes from an interview Y-P gave when DT dropped - apparently there's a civil war that's been taking place offscreen in Othard/Doma, and he talked about how we saw a very small portion of it. He talked about how we might see a "Nobunaga's Ambition" style plot where the WoL unites all of the various clans and rides at the head of a giant army, I'd 100% sign up for that.
I have a "Dream expansion" that SE doesn't have the guts to implement, but a WoL can dream. I'm curious what your thoughts on it would be. First up - totally nonlinear expansion. We get summoned back to the Rising Stones and we've been enlisted to... idk... bring ice to Ishgard because of the great tea ice shortage of the Eighth Calamty or somesuch. Most of the Scions walk out of the scene going "well, we'll leave you to it and meet you in Ishgard!" and we quietly tap Krile, Raha, and Ein to "give us a hand." we
25xxfrostxx: I'd like to see Hingashi proper rather than the single port city. Sa far as the 9th, I think we may be seeing a bit of it in 7.4.
Regarding the Roegadyn homeland, the couple Aermghus and Bluomwyda, part of the scions, had dialogue on that at the end of Endwalker. They then re-located to the inn in Limsa and she says the following:
"Bluomwyda: Ah, what a pleasant surprise! Aergmhus and I─emphasis on I─are in the midst of mapping out a way to reach our next destination: the isle of Aerslaent in the Northern Empty. Aerslaent is the ancestral homeland of we Roegadyn, and we would see it with our own two eyes. Unfortunately, information regarding the current state of the isle has been scarce in recent days. If we learn aught of note, you'll be the first to know."
We may be seeing it at some point in the future.
WikiED: can we go and do something with the big guy to the right of text "Garlemald" on the world map. I want to know what that thing is.
PJ-kx5ye: Im putting my money on a Viking themed expansion
