Sung Wong Cho, complaining about only getting calls for asian characters after advocating for such carelessness. And the response was beautiful. Uriuu: I hope this makes some semblance of sense to anyone... My main problem with Wuk was that we got (atleast in my eyes) 3 versions of the same character. Her first version was my personal favorite , when we got introduced to the character at the end of Endwalker as to why? Simple there was a moment with Erenville when he was just clubbing her with small details and she spat back with If you don't have nothing nice to say stay quiet

stuperman117: I am of the mindset of ‘the best person for the job.’ If the VA doesn’t actually match in regards to nationality, but they manage to pull off the correct voice because of their technical skill of how they can change their voice, and with what they are given, writing wise, that you can love or hate the character they play as, then they should have the voice acting role.

I enjoy the English voice actor for Feo Ul because of the fiery aspect of what she is. Every time she came on, it was always a lovely moment, to the point where I’ve just started calling her Firecracker, because it was always perfectly explosive.

The VA for Emet-Selch/Hades has that perfect quality to it. He nailed his role for what they needed of Emet-Selch, and then some.

I want the best voice actors for their characters they need to be. I play games like ff14 because of the characters, characters that I can grow to love or hate, depending on the writing. I wouldn’t have such a reaction every time I heard Ilberd yelling ‘sloppy’ if I didn’t care and enjoy characters and VAs that do their job and make the best of their writing to make the characters amazing to hate or love.

Embody the character, I do not care for irl politics, do your job to be beloved either as a ‘hated character’ (one that everyone loves to hate because of how well you played the role) or the loved characters.
