MastatmastaT: Balance does not equal fun or unique. Making everything the exact same in the name of balance is always a bad idea and why the game is so boring for anyone except people who only do hardcore raiding and even then having the choice to play the same class 4 times isn't exactly fun. Why not just make 1 do all tank, 1 do all dps, and 1 do all healer. That would be the perfect balance.
theunionofdarkness: Being unique means being less balanced. Unless the devs let jobs be bad/good at some things (which they won't because then people complain/meta game), homogenization is unavoidable.

Dovoline3: Ironically it's because they're so close that people are upset. Because when their defensive performance is all about the same, there's really no reason to not use the highest damage tanks. Making them all specialized, even if some become weaker because of it, would genuinely lead to those classes being used MORE because the specialization would mean there would be at least some raids where you'd still want to take them over other tanks.

EverianKalim: ive been doing GNB on new EX and its feels so much better with Gnashing Fang being on charge means Im not fucked if I dont get the combo off every 30 seconds. Also if Bloodfest could be cast without target we would have the GNB doing it on entering an instance, then have to wait 60 seconds between each pull for its CD so you could 6 cart opener, at which point you just give GNB 3 carts like WHM gets 3 Lillies.

NatiiixLP: The change is net positive for GNB, yes, but it makes its design much more similar to WAR or any other job that gets a bunch of free casts every 1 minute. It's very same-y.
I don't really care too much about job uniqueness when actually playing the game, but it's a certain downside to these changes. Way too many fights have an awful 1-minute alignment in the middle of some downtime, but drifting your 1-minute is unacceptable because the same fights are optimised for 2-minute alignment, so if you delay the odd-minute, you will miss your even-minute burst, and DD is guaranteed to drift without any realignment technology like DNC has.
This is a newly created problem for GNB. The changes aren't finished. There is still much more to fix. What they did with the temporary cartridges is a hideous hotfix that just makes it sound more complicated than it ever needed to be. DD needs to be a proc just like the Primal combo. I mean, Xeno said it, and it's such an obvious change, but it just hasn't happened. Overall, it's a W and GNB is less annoying, but 90% of the value comes from a) Gnashing Fang having charges, and the remaining 10% from b) not being able to overcap cartridges with Bloodfest. Having 4 separate 1-minute CDs is ridiculous, since you always press them together anyway. They could all be triggered by a single button. Bloodfest merged into No Mercy, Lion Heart on its own button, so you can decide if you want to press the DoT before or after, and the 1-minute oGCD can work similarly to how WAR gets an oGCD after doing 3 FCs under IR. Bloodfest and Holmgang need to have their target requirement removed to make it possible to keep bursts aligned, and for WARs to stop being banned from FRU PFs. I don't want to hear about self-targeting.
Xeno looking at parses as if that was any indication of how good jobs are is absolutely ridiculous. The parses only tell you how likely you are that the job is gonna be allowed on PF, nothing else. These changes were entirely QoL, so looking at parses for content that very few people are doing is a pretty awful measure of anything. Besides, GNB was already at the top before, and I don't believe anyone is complaining that 7.4 GNB is doing zero damage. If they are, then they are idiots and this would be a valid argument, but I think most people are complaining about the (in)convenience of some of the changes.
His biggest L is the whole combo interruption thing. There is absolutely zero reason why Gnashing Fang shouldn't interrupt Lion Heart. There is also absolutely zero reason to press either during the other, now more so than every before. I don't know why he has any issue with this specific thing at all, but it's a completely normal design on all jobs that have any concept of combos.
