alex7107: So for why people meme’d yan instead of revo is entirely cause people didn’t get to revo until week 4. Yan told them no
SilentMike55: My theory about why Yan was memed about more than Revo was because M6S was the wall, the majority were stuck on it for so long.
IzzyG_XIV: So idk if ppl told you, but almost everything you do at max level gives you math tomes (for bis gear) Ce's and forked tower give math, doing any of the deep dungeons, each set of 10 floors gives you tomes. Maps give tomes. All roulettes at max level. Pvp. Clearing savage (xeno literally caps per week by just farming savage fights) dawntrail extremes give tomes, wonderers tail 1 line bonus gives tomes. Hunts, as you said in the video, blue mage content, and that's just off the top of my head. Im probably missing a few options. It helps break up the boring dungeon runs. I've capped every week sonce ARR, and i think I've run like 3 expert dungeons this expansion. Dungeons wi drive you insane.
RogueMage: "We didn't see any mechanics getting repeated from previous fights."
Five minutes later: "All of Dancing Green's mechanics are repeated from Suzaku and she wore it better."
brettrichards4048: I was gonna say this at the beginning of the last video but when it comes to maxing out top end tomes for the weekly cap, something I used in Endwalker was learning that if you do all of your daily duty roulette's (not including main scenario but it is including frontline) on a max level job, you can max out your weekly tome cap in 3 days. While not the most efficient time wise compared to expert grinding or hunt trains, it is consistent and allows me to do it on my schedule unlike hunt trains and didnt make me go insane like expert grinding. Also i know you mentioned feeling toxic now about first time players, but personally I found the first time completion bonus tomes you get for helping them offset the extra time and can save some runs sometime. You can also adjust the roulettes if you feel like you can get more daily runs in and you want the exp to level some other jobs, as the level 100 runs are a constant tome source, but you have to really know your whole week schedule and how much time you have in advance which I rarely did, but i could always usually hit fri-sun for runs.
Just a method I found that worked for me and saved my sanity, but you may have less spare time to play with streaming and editing so time efficient may be priority (in which case I think the speed of trains is best just to be done with it and move on)
radelgirl: The hatred of Dancing Green is kinda funny, especially when comparing to Suzaku. When I do Suzaku Unreal I feel like the biggest bullshit to deal with is the simon says snapshots, where Dancing Green feels much more forgiving LOL.
hazavair5755: Okay, I have to disagree very strongly with the bit at the end of "last tier gear should be the best going into next tier". That makes gearing this horrible pyramid scheme. Crafted being accessible (and also having budget alternative) is the reason why the raiding community can exist at its current size.
brettrichards4048: I feel like this was posted earlier as I was watching it on my commute but then it disappeared from my history...
So that just means TIME TO WATCH IT AGAIN
SlvrStryker: ...the Yan is meme'd on because the Yan has...
...history...
kajin86: Hey i was watching the other one!
TipsyTurtle24: This isn't smack talk toward the boys because this is just a general gamer thing. But the complaint about tomes from ex roulette is purely a "gamers optimized the fun out of their games."
What I mean is, there are many many many different ways to get tomes you need in this game. Many different methods with varying degrees of fun and difficulty. The problem is that the most optimal way is ex roulette or hunts. So even if someone is burnt out on them and hates them, they will still do it for the sake of optimization.
Even though tomes aren't just for raiders, and thus not scaled for raiders, raiders will still do them because it is optimal. Is that a problem game design can fix? Nope.
reilie: I think a big reason people will say you guys were carried is bc of your parse. Parses ultimately encompass a lot of things in a single number. Doing mechanics correctly and not dying contributes to a better parse. Having high uptime dramatically improves your parse. The fact you have a final logged parse at all is testament that you can at least clear the fight. And in pf, you have no guarantee that everyone else in your group will be gamers like your static was. Its a roulette wheel of players of various skill levels and ultimately the only thing you can control is own performance.
Last tier was my first savage and I cleared it via pf as a tank. I was a dark knight. Good damage but ultimately still just a support role and yet I ran into enrage SO often in spite of how low the dps checks were for light heavy weight. With how low the dps could be from other members of my party, I could actually, tangibly
kyulilitanako972: I love the full comms because instead of spending Thursday nights with my two faraway friends, I get to spend Thursday nights with my EIGHT faraway friends, and that makes me happy. :3c Gold star for the Revo Rant, btw.
midnightmiqo: What a VERY different reaction to a new player in my expert, but I also have different motivations. New players are extra reroll chance on my Wondrous Tails AND bonus tomes for buy more relic weapons.
Ryndenfox: As a tank during Revo, I initially felt like I was going crazy because finding my safe spot position using the aoes on the ground was working some of the time but occasionally I'd do everything the same way and still just barely get clipped by the boss's circular aoe.
Our group asked around on a few discord communities and apparently when Howling Blade dashes NE or SE, he ends up 0.5 yalms closer to the center than other directions for some reason, so the safe spots are just ever-so-slightly further away than normal. I've never been gaslit so hard by a mechanic in this game.
_.nonamii: The crash out about Revo Reign is the hot shit than Yan situation is valid
Caelynn_Neilo: i did this tier week 1 and i've done all tiers since 5.0, (just this one week 1), and you've just enjoyed one of the best raid tiers in my opinion, music, mechanics, bosses, it's rly good.
GG for the clear, you've improved a lot and i hope you guys keep going!
Supersenkel2: Since you reuploaded it bc of that editing error, I once gain feel compelled to address Garrets unhealthy obession with grinding Expert roulette for tomes for some reason. As a savage raider who hasnt done an Expert in over 6 months I can say, there is more than enough varianty to cap these and I dont get why force yourself through if it is not fun to do.
Osteichthyes: "I hate grinding for gear" - Grinding Gear
jackicurtis3611: Every time I watch a new Grinding Gear video, Kyle looks even more tan than the last video. Kyle looks more Florida than Garrett these days!
nspaulding07: "This is very serious" - Hard cut to Awoooooooo.
Riiiiiiiiight.
jt1973: Kyle is so right about perceptions of healing/tanking lol. My friend and I both main Healer but we have such different philosophies that we can never really get along when discussing what we liked/didnt like about fights. He doesnt like it when a fight makes him heal so much he cant dps constantly, and I love it because I want to have to heal as part of the fantasy of the job/role and I find healer dps to be incredibly brain dead uneventful despite looking pretty.
