Shopping CartNoMoreMiracles-g8r: This post becomes absolutely hilarious when you learn that the OP wrote it using an AI
Bro used a third party tool to complain about third party tools. Some jokes just write themselves.
bananagher7555: I mod to goon. I've never modded to help myself in raid.
Tobeh: For the “not owning a character” I had a funny thing happen where I ran into another female Au Ra same height, hair style, hair colors, same last name, and the first name was off by a single letter. We’re on the same server. With finite options available there is close to a 100% chance that some one else also has your character at least in look.
jerrellmackall4653: jfc the thumbnail has me dying.
mem5000: So he's upset that people may be doing stuff he can't see or even know about. Just the thought that someone might be doing this with out him even knowing, keeps him up at night, crying softly into his pillow?
EnergeticDreamer: 'Protect fairness,' is something that often comes up but the issue is FF14 doesn't provide everything to include that. For example, I'm mildly disabled, and with chronic pain in my hands the 1-2-4-2-5-6 sometimes button combo hurts a lot, so I use a mod to fix that, where then I can just hit 1-1-1, versus needing to stretch and strain my hand to 1, to 9, or consistently use my mouse to click. Some people also cannot move as fast, and require a bit of help. 'Don't play the game,' but I'm provided tools that lets me play the game, yet not from the game itself, from other developers.
MichaelCosta1984: I literally have felt zero pressure to mod my game...
Lahabamba: Mods are fine, as long as they're not cheat mods. This is from someone who doesn't mod.
miguelsouza6244: Yes more drama to watch while I eat
VoidSpacy: As a console player, my only issue with mods is the fact I can’t use them
EarthtoPrim: The guy who made that post sounds so fucking stupid. Its the same argument every time. 99% of the time people literally don't give a fuck about the blue haired male viera in the corner. The only time mods come in play with others is when you're paired with someone else and even then it doesn't mean its going to be sexual. And if people are vanilla that's their business or problem, its only a vocal minority that act superior with mods.
This guy is drawing straws over nothing.
NatiiixLP: SE does NOT think mods make the game better, and that's most certainly not what their announcement said. SE does not want XIV mods to exist.
They merely acknowledged that some people may enjoy modding the game, but it is still a violation of how the software is supposed to be used, and they released that statement right after banning the most popular RP mod, so they clearly didn't like that one very much. They clarified that they don't particularly mind local-only visual alterations to your character, as long as you are not (negatively) impacting the experience of any other player. Slapping people's character with your dick, even if only you can see it, constitutes a violation of this expectation, and if you then publicise this, a punishment is to be expected.
And, while it is a virtual character, someone acting some way towards your character is a transitive action towards you as the player as well. That's the whole point of RPGs -- you are the character, or the character is you. SE will do whatever leads to the least reputational damage to their brand, so if this opinion becomes more popular as the awareness of (sexual or not) mods becomes more widespread, SE will ultimately be forced to act one way or another, and we've clearly seen they won't be taking the side of people who are fundamentally doing something forbidden.
The dogshit netcode should have been fixed when 2.0 released, and there would have never been a meaningful excuse for mods if they didn't release such poorly engineered unfinished product. Of course, everyone will prefer if people living in countries with poor Internet conditions and far away from the DC servers would use third-party software to circumvent the client's notorious flaws, rather than to keep wiping to disconnects and alleged lag spikes.
n8dawgg93: Wait that teleport was sick as fuck
madamwashington: I don't mod but most people I know do and more than half of them say they wouldn't sub if they couldn't. FFXIV probably wouldn't be a profitable game is they banned modding.
melquiadeshernandez4889: Man no clippy needs to be implemented soon. Im currently playing in console cuz irl stuff and the one thing i miss from pc is no clippy
Watch_over_us: Translation : I dont know how to install mods and im to lazy to learn
acolit1: You think raiding elitist are bad/toxic? Wait till you meet RP elitists and socialites in this game!
Aruru_XIV: fppong teleports to his original location
sortofarbitrary6688: Lol, the only people who have stuff affecting other players are new mod users still figuring out how to set up Penumbra collections. The vast majority of us keep our mods to ourselves not only on our client, but even limited to our character on our client.
NabaniSaa: The only thing that upsets me is Xeno using the Inquisition quote of "Innocence Proves nothing" for his World Eater character lolol xdx.
Emire: You are well within your right to not want your character sexualized on FFXIV however that does not make it everyone elses' problem, especially Yoshi P and his team.
ichkor3703: Forum users don't know how mods work
BiscuitBeaver: I'm here for strummer's modbeast arc
NastyMick: I'm not going to tell this guy to be happy about other people (potentially) gooning to their character, but at the same time I can't imagine living my life worrying if I'm twerking on someone else's screen. I hope they never post on Twitter. That "Edit Image" button might give them an aneurysm.
d0minican0milan0: it does not pressure anyone to get mods >.< literally no one gives a fuck if you mod or not..this is a you problem
INeosIRex: Its a ragebait AI post... xD
