vivinoodle6810: Back few months ago, got suspended for 10 days for "Offensive language or behaviour towards other players in a duty", basically I had 2 tank logging the shit out of M9S in a random reclear PF and just at the end of the fight i genuinely fucked up and greeded a bat cleanse and killed one of them, to which the other tried to wall the fight as the boss was at 1%, which they proceeded with altf4ing the game (i guess to invalidate the log) and when they came back all they said was "I hope you have a bad day mnk :)" to which i responses "fuck outta here lol" which was enough to give them a weapon to report me.

In turn, the GM told me to "Refrain from using party chat and instead use report system" when asked what I should do against griefers and people trolling pulls if one thing goes wrong.

So i should really just shut up and report anyone that comes mildly annoying to me i suppose

lunatic447: I've never been in jail, but I do remember when Eternal Bond came out in ARR that my friend jokingly set up a PF with: "Looking for wife, has to be between 20 and 30 and thin, for in-game marriage" in German.

He got pulled into jail and had a pretty casual conversation with the GM. Apparently, it wasn't against the ToS at the time or something, and the GM jokingly wished my friend good luck.

A week later, he was pulled into jail again, with the GM telling him: "Look, my dude, it is allowed, but a lot of people got uncomfortable, so we need to ask you to stop."

MrSallyCruise: Had a buddy a few days ago get pulled into GM jail because a 3 stack in a dungeon told him not to grab treasure chests because they "Didn't want to deal with the inventory management".

After spamming him he responded with "No body will ever care about you or what you want" He got dragged into GM jail despite being provoked by some of the dumbest cry baby BS ive ever seen.

The fact that a 3 stack can potentially intimidate someone out of a core mechanic for the game and still report someone to the point they even get a warning is beyond me.

Some of the players in this game are the most entitled mentally ill people that ive ever seen.

Nillian0: I remember a few years ago, i actually got a GM to confirm that i was reported by somebody that was at odds with me. It's kind of a long story, but I'll type it below for those who care.

Basically this guy and girl start talking to me about my glam, we talk for a while, become friendly, play the game together pretty often, etc. The guy was very controlling of the girl and would always dictate what she would be doing for the day, and when he decided to do Botany leveling for the day, she agreed and i said i'll pass because i just wasn't big on gathering back then. No response, they just went on their way. After they were done he was constantly bringing up how much fun they had, how easy it was to level, and all this and that. He just kept trying to control what i was doing, but i would tell him no, and he hated that. Then one day, i (stupidly) invited him to farm company seals with me and my friend by spamming an unsync dungeon, rolling for the gear, and selling it. He agreed, and joined on RDM, even though i was already on BLM. I kept rolling and getting all the caster gear. then he cussed me out, in the in-game chat, and left the party without a word. He told me later that he was mad because i kept stealing the caster gear from him because he was using this as an opportunity to gear his Lvl 70 RDM with Lvl 60 Gear from HW. I ended the friendship after that, because fuck that.

Couple weeks later, i'm standing in Gridania AFK while watching Youtube after taking some screen shots in the water or something. Unbeknownst to me, Him, that girl, their other female friend, and one other guy are sitting on the same bench. I randomly get a DM from the cry baby telling me i need to leave them alone (i'm literally AFK with the symbol and everything.) i return from AFK, asking wtf he's talking about and that's when i see them all sitting there. I'd been in Gridania for like... 2 hours, watching stuff on my other monitor. Then a couple days later, i was doing my normal raid roulette and got placed with him and his mindless lackeys that do whatever he wants. I saw on his Discord that his icon was a purple bubble, meaning he was streaming on Twitch. I join his stream to hear what he's saying about me, and i immediately hear "nobody heal her, nobody heal her, fuck her dude." And the thing i did wrong was pull him (the main tank for the fight) off the edge with rescue. Then i guess he reported me for stalking them. I get pulled into GM jail. GM tells me i was reported for a reason he can't tell me. Literally all i said was "was this report from Eric Gibson?" and they confirmed. Then i brought up the stream and how he was going out of his way to be near me just so he could cuss at me and a lot of other stuff i didn't mention. Pretty sure he ended up getting banned after i told the GM what he was doing and i never saw him again. I just checked his Lodestone and FFLogs and it looks like he literally doesn't even exist anymore. He was literally just some guy that saw a girl and thought he could control her. But, i never told him i was a girl, and never confirmed if i was or not. But i'm a dude. Bro thought i was a girl the entire time, which is why (i'm assuming) he thought he could just tell me to do whatever he wanted to talk to me however he wanted. Nah, i was a dude the whole time. Girl character does not mean girl gamer.

Zasurein: If its from months ago, its definitely malicious reporting. That means someone basically saved the conversation with the intention of using it later if the person ever turned on them. That guy probably upset one of their 'friends' and they used this dirt on them as revenge.

oliver749: I vote for accelerating this into critical mass. Everyone should start abusing it so they get flooded by false reports. Just be smart about it and make it look legit reports. If enough people report/get reported, people will scream and complain, The issue will grow until it starts hitting their sub numbers. This is the only way for things to get better, their wallets need to be hit, and it needs to be obvious that this is the cause. Enough people need to be suspended and stop their subs for squareenix to be motivated to fix this.
